Hi everyone,
Eversince I updated my phone the GPS is not working, Google maps is not giving a location, but when I downloaded GPS toolbox it seems to have a fix. I tried wiping davkik cache but it didn't work.

What do you mean by clean install? Should just download the file and flash it?
Have the same issue, thinking of clean install but 300 apps installed is a lot of work. Looks like the Google location provider is not working (if that's the correct name)
Was having the same issue using HERE WeGo maps but was able to fix it. Settings > Apps & Notifications > See all (###) apps. Click the dots in upper right corner, Show system apps. Scroll down to Location Services, force stop then clear cache and storage for app. Reboot.
Worked perfectly for me after that. Seems it was holding onto old storage/cache data that didn't get wiped even after doing a stock recovery cache wipe. Can't guarantee that'll work for everyone, but worked for me.

It worked, thanks! (well it did not work immediately, then I went in preferences and unticked "Improve Location Accuracy", waited and ticked it again and it worked, not sure if it had any kind of impact)
So, actually it did not work, the location would only work if I toggled on/off "Improve Location Accuracy", so I decided to try again, but this time wiped all the system apps that contained "location"in their names, will keep you posted

Any news? I have the same problem. Maps and Life360 do not show position. Every other app using GPS work fine. I would like to wipe cache and dalvik but in TWRP, when trying this Function, I receive AN error so it is not possible.

Can you suggest me a technique for backup and restore for a fastest wipe data?
Hey lads, I know I'm late to the party but I seem to have found something that fixed my Life360 issues.
1. Go to settings => Apps & Notifications and tap "see all apps"
2. Tap the 3 dots in the corner and tap "Show system"
Find "LocationServices" in the list, force stop, clear cache, clear data
4. Go back and find Life360 in the list, open the "advanced" drop-down menu, go to "battery optimization" and select "don't optimize" (this step may not be necessary)
5. Tap "storage and cache", and clear both the cache and storage
6. Reboot
7. Test to see if Life360 can see your location now
I know I'm I bit late and a lot of people wiped their phones to fix this, so I hope this info can help someone in the future!
I think I managed to find a workaround which doesn't involve a factory reset for the same issue on my OnePlus 6T:
Settings -> System -> Reset options -> Reset app preferences (this doesn't affect apps data)
Settings -> Apps & notifications -> See all XXX apps -> (3 dots in the upper right corner) -> Show system -> Clear storage and cache of the following apps:
Google Maps
Google Play services
Google Services Framework
LocationServices
Phone Services
Fused Location
Google Location History
OPMmsLocation
I wiped Dalvik cache in TWRP.
I'm not sure all steps are necessary but resetting apps preferences is the key one I think. It's going to reset the permissions of all apps but it's a good alternative to reinstall everything from scratch. The issue of the GPS fix in Google Maps hasn't come back for me since.

So I had been having the same issues on 6T, then 7. Did this yesterday but haven't yet been able to test it fully although I feel this may have resolved the issue considering the speed at which the GPS / Compass is connecting on Maps. Once I travel today it will just confirm that theory. If it fixes the issue, lots of prayers and wishes your way sir!
PS. Did you ever face the issue again after the fix?

Adding here, I had already tried dumping the cache, storage and Dalvik prior to this which didn't resolve the issue.. Only temporarily. That makes me believe if this is the solution, the most important step being "Reset app preferences" and it does make sense too because Android 9 vs 10, permissions was one of the big changes brought in.

Ok, this solution is legit. Seems to be working seamlessly so far. Haven't experienced this consistency with Maps ever since A10. Thank you!!

Come on...it's right under Progess
"Back to SDK Dialer. Old one was causing problems and did not keep call log."
So far install and settings are all flawless as far as I can tell. Quality job!
Sound > Volume bug is fixed
Lock Timer bug is fixed
Lock button background on both password and pin is fixed
The virtual keyboard still doesnt vibrate when vibrate is checked.
Also noticed a lot of the options that were in Call Settings are now no longer there.
I'm guessing this is due to the dialer being changed out?
Other than that, so far so good!
Is it necessary to wipe data & cache, then factory reset again even if already on fission?
Would just rather not....
Keep up the good work boys!
Also you might want to re-mention about not using themes.
my gps will not work. Weather and toggle widgets, weatherbug elite , and others will not find me. Tried a reboot didn't work. Came from the beta just flashed this this morning. Followed all directions wiped twice and the factory reset anyone else having this issue or do I need to reflash.
Ps I noticed swype works in this build great work guys
Check the gps toggle again. I've had gps work with three different apps.

GPS is working fine. It's coarse location (wireless networks) that's not working for me. If I turn off GPS, I can't get a location.
To do step 15 (Perform a Factory Reset through Android - Settings > Privacy > Factory Data Reset. Wiping Cache and Data from recovery is not enough.)
Am I suppose to reboot the system prior to this step?

It isn't possible unless you boot first, is what I figured.
"Do not perform any type of restore using any backup programs, yes this includes Titanium Pro and others!"
So this essentially renders Titanium Pro useless then? I can't restore any apps at any time from my sd card?
I followed every step precisely, including the backup and all of the cache/data clearing and android factory reset, and so far none of my market downloads have initiated. I'll get back to you on it if they do.
Not trying to *****, but I can't really give much feedback until I can see how well everything runs with my setup.

By default you'll be in USB mass storage mode if plugged in. If this is the case the market won't download. (Found this out the hard way.)
Fixed it by going to Charge-Only.
Id say u can backup/restore any market/downloaded non-system apps with titanium. Just don't restore items such as calender/email/sms/settings etc. most of these things are backed up and restored to your google account anyhow.
It would seem contact ringtones do not work
The market download on fresh boot takes awhile.. anywhere from 15min+ you can speed the process up by manual cancels and manual downloads.

I didn't have this issue
So far so good, everything works great, even facebook and twitter sync the contacts list. Very great Job.
I've had my N5 since Nov. 2013 -- running stock 4.4.4, rooted. I've never had a battery problem, until last Sunday.
Thinking some update or another had changed things, I restored a week-old Nandroid and did not update anything from that state.
I recharged the phone and let it sit on my desk. In 1hr. 40min. battery is down to 75%
Google Play Services has gone crazy. It's kept the phone awake for 1hr. 16min. of the time since I took it off the charger.
What has changed? How can I turn it off? I can't even get a day of idling the phone at this rate -- much less actually use it.
Any suggestions appreciated -- and, yes I did Google first, but nothing really helped...
Settings -> Accounts
Remove your Google account
Settings -> Apps -> Google Play services
Clear cache & data
Reboot to recovery, clear cache partition and dalvik cache.
Reboot and add your Google Account again
Did you use the Disable Service app by any chance?

Okay, much luck! I guess that some background service accidentially stored corrupt data and thus doesn't stop syncing or something like that

It's only been a short time, but, this doesn't seem to have turned the trick. Phone is still very warm to the touch. Battery is dropping like a rock -- about 10% in 5 minutes -- and Google services is adding wakelocks and awake time at an alarming rate.
Does this pic give you any useful info?
It took me a couple more tries to get it, but I did get my phone back to normal. What worked, in the end, was:
Settings-> Apps -> Google Services -> clear data
Settings -> Apps -> Google Search -> clear data
Reboot to recovery -> clear cache & Dalvik
Reboot.
Thanks to all who replied / helped!

Thanks for letting us know. I think the general storage cache clear is what tends to fix this. I have resolved it myself using Settings > Storage > Cached data and rebooting.
S7 on MM SuperMan ROM
So a few days ago my GPS started taking longer to find me, and today it just stopped entirely. Been on the same version of the ROM for probably 6+ months. Google maps, Waze, weather, etc, basically any GPS related app can't find me.
Done all the usual stuff, checked settings, disabled xposed, uninstalled any recently installed apps, wiped cache, no go.
Downloaded that GPS tool app everyone recommended and reset GPS settings etc and it didn't help. The diagnoses page says my sensors are all fine, and it can actually find my coordinates but other apps still can't.
I did a nandroid backup then did a clean wipe, and it works on a fresh ROM so I know it's not hardware. Issue comes back when I restore the backup, so it has to be some kind of software related bug or issue.
I just can't think of what it could be. I'll probably have no choice but to set it all up again from scratch, but any ideas of what it could be would be nice.
Did you try delete cache and dalvik cache in recovery only?

Yep, I'll give it another try now.
I've just did an all setting reset within android settings. Which seems to have just made it worse.
edit: nope, tried cache, davlik and internal storage wipe (but leaving data and system). still broke.

Try Reset App Preferences from Settings > Apps > 3 dots top right menu > Reset app preferences
Also Settings > Apps > 3 Dots > App Permissions > Location, check everything is set to accept location that you want to have location access (Top right 3 dots again > show system)

Updated to Android 10 and everything is working beautifully except for Google Maps. For some reason it doesn't fix my location and keep it.
GPS is working fine as tested on Waze and GPS Status and Toolbox.
If I turn off High accuracy from Google location settings then I immediately get a fix for some time but the location doesn't update unless I go into navigation mode.
Am unable to uninstall Google Maps since phone doesn't boot if I remove the system app.
I tried deleting the data and cache and reinstalling updates, but that didn't help either.
I have also tried switching off sleep battery optimisation but they didn't help either. Unable to find system apps on battery optimisation so I can't change the settings for the app.
I am stumped. I would be grateful for any pointers. Thanks.

Indeed it's working. Joyful days are here again. Thank you very much!
The above mentioned Global Optimised GPS file peplacer module seems to make it better too.
I bought this phone from my friend a week ago. He has been using it for 1 and half year, and he said has no problem with this phone.
Recently I found out there is a bug (maybe) that annoys me everyday.
The gallery is often acting up, not showing the images that I just downloaded. Or, when I save image from VSCO, it is not showing in the gallery. When that happen usually I have to restart the phone to make them show in the gallery.
Ive tried to clear cache the gallery but not working. A restart is a must.
Other gallery/storage related problem that I experienced also causing Whatsap and Instagram. Whatsapp showing blank gallery when I want to share photo. And Instsgram also showing blank preview when I already choose the photo. Sometimes the Instagram is just hang.
Oxygen OS 10.3.1
I hope it's software bug, not hardware problem.
Can anyone help me to clear out this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Doesn't seem to be a software problem. Did you do a factory reset after you got the phone?
Edit: Doesn't seem to be a hardware problem. Ma bad
@MysteryE: before factory reset, clear storage of com.android.providers.media. Then reboot.
