One of the testers has done that successfully.

So which one should I flash? This one or peters one? any differences between them?

That question is not for this thread.
Explanation: I can't comment on another recovery - and I don't think that this is the place for such commentary anyway.

I'll have to try it!

Hi, I am downloading the file to flash, but want to ask some details first.
How often is there a update for this recovery? And is it easy to switch back from this to the official TWRP, if I decided after trying that I prefer the other one?

It does, I tested with PE 10

Finally, it's here! I waited for this official release for too longggggg.

In terms of what is visible to the user, for one, it officially supports both Treble and non-Treble. As for the rest, you will get a changelog with the next release.
Would you say there is backward compatibility with TWRP ? Redwolf seems to have created some problem that keeps me from restoring my TWRP backups - even with TWRP without error 70 and 255. Also was having a big problem with Redwolf rebooting the phone in the middle of a restore. It has done this reboot during restore even on several different backups. It can't seem to complete a restore without rebooting. Using those same backups I was able to complete a restore with TWRP and get booted up although I now have no Wifi, FM radio or fingerprint settings.
Would OrangeFox be compatible with Redwolf more than it is with TWRP or ?

One more question if this makes sense : is the fstab in OrangeFox more like TWRP or Redwolf?

We are aiming to achieve as much compatibility with TWRP as is possible (hopefully, full compatibility). This is work-in-progress, but we are well on the way. Watch this space!

This is an experimental build of OrangeFox Recovery Project freshly baked for Cherry Mobile Flare S8.
This is a work of a friend, this is not my work.
I made this thread to publish the project because he doesn't have an XDA account.
However, you can still report bugs by replying them below.
That "friend" is @loveleyz, you better follow him in GitHub to receive updates regarding the custom recovery.
Full credits goes to him, I can't thank him enough for bringing source-built custom recoveries for our little device.
I REPEAT, THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL BUILD. THREAD WILL BE UPDATED ASAP, FLASH IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
OrangeFox Recovery is one of the most popular custom recoveries, with amazing additional features, fixes and a host of supported devices
OrangeFox Recovery have been operating for over two years. In that time we have improved the quality, stability, and device support of the recovery. Today OrangeFox is the leader in stability, UI design, and UX. Installing OrangeFox means being with the latest code and fastest fixes.
OrangeFox Recovery was originally designed for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X Snapdragon (mido). Right now we support 47+ devices.
Installations
1. Download the OrangeFox zip file to your device
2. Reboot to your custom TWRP-based Recovery
3. Install the OrangeFox zip file as a normal zip
4. The device will automatically reboot into OrangeFox recovery after installation (allow this to happen)
5. Enjoy!

Report Bugs
• OrangeFox reporting problems
https://wiki.orangefox.tech/en/guides/report
• Notify bugs through the comments column
• Take screenshots and give reasons clearly
• Grab a log right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing).
• Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.
