TWRP 0mb after flashing TWRP from magisk (Post Android 10 and magisk successfully) - OnePlus 7 Questions & Answers

Hi Guys,
I have downloaded the android 10 update and have followed all the steps to make the OS updated and successfully with magisk.
And when everything was working with Android 10+Magisk I have flashed twrp via magisk and Magisk is gone.
When i try to flash that from TWRP. TWRP doesn't show my internal storage or any USB storage via OTP.
Can anyone please help to decrypt my storage in TWRP without losing data.

I have 3.3.1-1 I assume thats the latest. I have got the magisk working. And I have tried removing screen lock tried adding back password(instead of pattern) but nothing is working for TWRP to detect encrypted storage. It usually asks for password to decrypt but i dont get that prompt. Can you please help me.

Root Nougat without TWRP

Good day.
After searching, i have not found anything.
Is it possible to root Nougat without TWRP? Or we will have to wait?
Is TWRP Nougat compatible?
Thank you.

Chainfire haven't updated cf autoroot yet. I tried it and it didn't work.
I don't know about other ways.
TWRP itself works with 7.0 and decrypted data. So Flashing SuperSU there works (at least for me and Chainfire itself).
But if you have encrypted data, after you flash TWRP, 7.0 would not boot until you format data. The cause is unknown for now. See the SuperSU or TWRP thread for more.

It's encrypted by default. It just does not have a custom password set.
If TWRP can't mount data your data partition is encrypted and you need to flash the noencrypt zip and format data.
And if i remove password and fingerprint ?

Flashing only is not enough. You have to format data and by this loose all your data on the phone. There is currently no other way.

So from what I've read, if you flash the rom first, then update your recovery you should be good?

Can I install it without magisk? Will it be gone after the device restarted without installing magisk?
Just info : Link updated https://github.com/GuaiYiHu/android...2.3.0-whyred/TWRP-20190330-3.2.3.0-whyred.img
it's a recovery so magisk is your choice if you want it or not.

I had this problem before. when you flash twrp, try to reboot to twrp again. then the twrp won't be flashed by stock recovery.

update to 9.5.9 bootloop, only fix was twrp bootloop fix but removed root

As the title says I updated to 9.5.9 and I installed magisk to ota slot and then I got a bootloop.... I fixed it by using twrp option to fix bootloop but that removed root, everything I do now sends it into a bootloop, please tell me there is a way to reroot this without wiping my data
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...-to-uninstall-magisk-module-t3940369#poststop
Just had the same issue an hour ago. Do this then re-root your phone again. Easy. Then re-install magisk modules.

Had the same issue.
Same here. I just reflashed TWRP (flash boot command), flashed the TWRP installer zip, rebooted recovery and then flashed Magisk. That solved it.
By the way, theres a new TWRP out for the 7 Pro.
I got the same problem but my internal storage is encrypted (it shows 0kb). TWRP is not asking for PIN to unencrypt the partition. What can I do now?
Do we have a custom boot image for 9.5.9? I'm looking to root and want to find the best method which will continue to allow future updates (even if I need to flash manually)

Your best bet is to use the oxygen updater app, download 9.5.9 and then copy it to a PC then use boot.img extract thingy and then use magisk to patch it and then use fastboot to to root it

OnePlus6 fastboot boot twrp not possible after OTA

Hey guys,
got a OP6 for years. Stay on Stock OS with root. Never flashed any CustomRom or OS.
Bootet with fastboot boot twrp-version.img and flashed Magisk in twrp.
Works absolut fine until now. I installed the OTA and now i cant enter any twrp.
Information about my device:
Device: OnePlus6 A6003
OSS: 10.3.3
Android: 10
Build-Number: A6003_22_200414
USB-Debuggin: Enabled
OEM-Unlock: active
I tried all .img files from here:
eu.dl.twrp.me/enchilada/
and
twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.91_op.img
twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.86_op.img
No version working.
After flashing the 3.2.x versions i get a screen with
"qualcom crashdum mode
-------------"
With the newer 3.3x versions the screen just switch to "fastboot mode" and stay there forever.
How can i just boot into twrp with the new version? I wont twrp forever (flash). Just need to flash root after every OTA.
Thx for help!

You could do that without TWRP. You just need to use Magisk's "Install to inactive slot" feature after installing OTA but before rebooting.

The version you tried to boot is not for android 10.
Versions for android 10 are blu_spark 9.108 and 9.109. Unfortunately, i think @eng.stk stopped providing img, but you can download lastest @mauronofrio TWRP and then flash @mauronofrio or blu_spark TWRP

Having issues decrypting after attempting to do OTA update

Hi,
My phone is rooted and with twrp. After attempting to perform OTA update, it now boots straight to the fastboot screen. I still can get TWRP to work but there is no prompt to decrypt my phone after twrp starts so I basically can't read the phone contents. Much appreciated if anybody here can guide me to fix my phone. Does it mean I will lose all my data?
Thank you!
