Hey all,
I've been searching around and seeing that this issue is happening to other people as well but I didn't find any answer, I tried going to Facebook with this but no luck.
Did someone had luck with this? Or at least have a workaround? This thing is driving me crazy! I really don't know how this is not bothering anyone
See attachment for the issue.
Thanks for anyone helping!

I don't have a solution, but have the same problem. It doesn't bother me as much on the lock screen, but it bothers me that I get big white FB notifications on my Ambient Display, while FB Messenger was displaying white test on the black background.
Edit: On a whim, I tried updating to the latest Facebook Beta (240.0.0.27 for Android 9+) and it appears to be resolved. I snagged the APK from APKMirror.
My screenshot. The app wouldn't let me add this to my previous post.

I apologize in advance if this is something that is well known to all the people who can use the search engine on the forum, but I haven't seen anything like that in the postings i have read so far.
Some time today, I have got this problem that I am eager to solve. I just got my Fuze on Tuesday, so over the last couple of days I have installed a large numbers of .cab files. Apparently, after one of this installations something have changed, and on my Today page there is a white shade of the man's head (if you go to Contacts tab, for the contacts, for which you have no picture, you will see a smaller version of it)
So, my question is whether there is a way to remove it from my Today page
Thanks in advance

Looks like a regular wallpaper to me. Try to change it in TouchFlo: Settings->Wallpaper and choose something different... or restore it to default.
I believe it is so!!
Thanks, guys. Indeed the problem was solved by setting the wallpaper to default. Once again thanks a lot for your help - it is my first WM phone, so I am still learning
no worries. I know many who usually prefer the hard way to learn
It's getting kind of annoying that I would have to click on 'clear notifications' even after reading those SMSs... any idea how to turn this off the moment I preview or read them? I'm using HandCent and I can't seem to find the proper setting. Appreciate any help.
never mind. figured it out.

Ok you ask for help, then figure it out so why not share with everyone the answer. It could help someone else looking to do the same thing.
Haha... here we go:

Same problem here, no idea what's going on. In the process of troubleshooting and Googling myself...
Hey you guys, what's up? I've been enjoying CM9 so far and I've a couple of questions. This time I made a light (LIGHT) research on the matter but found dead alleys. So, here they are:
First, is there a possible way to add a boot up/shutdown sound to CM9? I found a guide in spanish giving out instructions as how to do it, but it's for the Defy/Defy+, so I don't know if it will apply to us SGT2'ers. Link after the jump:
Guide in spanish for boot up sound in CM9
Second, I've been having a bit of an issue with the GPS. That GPS icon will appear and seemingly it won't go away. As far as I know, that's indication of an app trying to get a GPS fix, but it stays for a long while, even after using an app like Google Maps and getting a fix (and a pretty good one, 20M close to my actual location).
Thoughts? Thanks!
Bump!

Look for a file such as system >media> audio> ui> PowerOn.ogg or system/sounds/PowerOn.mp3.
I'll try that. But in the meantime, can someone talk to me about the GPS in CM9? Ever since I got it, it seems like it's not working as well as it used to. I've looked in the forums, but no go.
Bump!
Bumping about the GPS; how can I make it work? Please guys, any information you may have about the matter will help me, thanks!
I already searched on here, and someone asked this before but got no reply.
I want to uninstall Gmail 4.7.1 from my Kyocera Rise that's running ICS, and install the older Gmail 2.3.4.1 on it. Has anyone else done this before? Any idea if it'll work?
I want to do this because 2.3.4.1 is what my old phone (was running Gingerbread) had on it. I don't like the newer Gmail app, IMO they made it harder to read and navigate. I find myself using my old phone just to check my email, because its less annoying. It'd be awesome if the older app were to work on here.

Welcome to Xda, you will see that this happens allot here and i wish everyone could get the help they deserve but most of the time they don't as for your problem, you could google Gmail 2.3.4.1 apk and might be able to find someone who mirrored that like you can try here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1181033 download that file from your phone or computer and find it and install it. it might not work because google sorta wants us to use newer versions of their apps but if it does you need to turn off the auto update so it wont. good luck and welcome to XDA!

Hello, thanks. I've been a lurker on here for a while, but I have no experience asking my own questions here.
Yup, I did that, I downloaded an .apk of 2.3.4.1. I was asking on here to try and find out if attempting this would even work.... in my research I can't find anything on whether something like this for Gingerbread will work correctly in ICS. It looks like I have to root to even remove Gmail 4.7.1 so that's why I was asking before getting into this.

The reason why you can't completely uninstall it is because it's a system app. So yes you would have to root to remove it
