Mic only working while on speakerphone during calls - Workaround - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Updated to Android 10 starting of this week, approx 10 days after that, mic stops working for voice calls. Other person is only able to hear when you switch on your speakerphone. Ok Google command works absolutely fine, got diagnostics done from the official support team which showed normal functioning mic. Tried downgrading to Pie, but no success (Tried Aug 2019 and April 2019 builds). Ultimately figured out the bug yesterday, the noise cancelling secondary mic is cancelling out all my voice during a call!! When you switch on the speakerphone, this mic stops noise cancellation and the other person isable to hear.
Workaround - Try to close the opening of the secondary mic (circular opening adjacent to the camera setup at the back) with your finger while on a call. This prevents any sound going in that mic and any subsequent noise cancellation does not happen.
Edit - The mic stopped working even after occluding the secondary mic today (20.9.19), don't know what to do now.
Edit 2 - Had to get the mic replaced ultimately

phone call sound problems

This is a rooted nexus 5 using lineageos 14.1 (based on nougat) and I'm having sound problems only during phone calls.
The party I call cannot hear me (I can hear them) unless I turn speaker on. Then they can hear me but the sound is garbled and they hear reverberation picking up their own voices back.
Searching for a solution on the web I found
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TxCUKLhMNBM
I changed the build prop they recommended to false and now the other party can hear me fine on (non-speaker) phone calls. ?
But, I still have a problem if I turn my speaker on. When I do that the microphone picks up ambient noise and the other party hears their own conversation back as garbled double sound. If anyone knows how to fix this I would be grateful.
Ideas?
Nobody has any idea how to prevent the mic from picking up and transmitting the phone speaker sound when on speaker phone?
My wife's identical nexus 5 doesn't do this when it's on speaker phone.

Top speaker volume is too law all of a sudden, can't listen to calls at all.

The top speaker on my pixel 2 is giving me very low sound output on any app. During a call, I can barely hear the other person somy only option now is earphones. I have tried left and right speaker test from YouTube and it is clear that my left speaker is giving very low output and it has a very bad quality.
It was working fine this week. The only thing I installed recently was April security patch update I think. I have factory reset my phone already and it still has this problem.

Microphone and Earpiece stop working after some time

My mic and earpiece speaker stop working and I don't know why.
I reboot the phone and everything is fine. Then suddenly WhatsApp hangs when I try to send a voice message.
If I try to listen to a voice message on my earpiece speaker, nothing comes out of it.
If I open a voice recorder, it either crashes or doesn't record any sound.
Then I have to reboot to get everything working again.
How can I troubleshoot this?
I'm trying to remove microphone access from a few apps, but since the earpiece speaker is also malfunctioning, I don't know if I'm doing the right process.

No mic audio on call and other apps

I'm having a weird problem with the mic on my HTC U11. The past week sometimes when I received a call, other people couldn't listen to me, eventually it's happening on every call.
I also noticed that the voice recording app, and other 3rd party video apps are not recording sound, "Manual Camera DSLR" app does some kind of a loud "click" sound when the record starts and then stops the audio, but if I use the Hi-Res or 3D function on the native camera app the sound is recorded and also if I put the call on speaker the sound is back. I tried to clean the phone but didn't help and did a doing a call to another phone and everything I could hear was total silence like if it was muted, not distorted sound like if the mic was dirty or something blocking it, until I put the call on speaker the sound was "not muted"
Any idea on how could I attempt to fix it?
Thanks.

Click to collapse
Restarted, didn't work.
No cover on phone, also sound doesn't sound covered, just 0 sound, not even white noise or interference.
Not connected
Seems clean
Didn't work
No updates
Have been doing more checks... native camera app is also failing, does the same "click" sound and then stops recording audio. Moments ago mic wasn't working on voice recorder, then I plugged the charger and mic started to work.

ace noise cancellation microphone issue

How can i disable the noise cancellation microphone permanently ?
during calls other party can only hear me when i am in speaker mode, it looks like the noise cancellation microphone is blocking all the audio.
I'm having a similar issue - mic seems to not work on calls. I know the mic works as I can do the "OK Google" command and it works as it should. Phone was purchased from Amazon unlocked, working on Verizon. Model is XT2213-3. Build is S1SAS32.47-77-7 / Android 12. Software Channel is North American Retail. One thing I have noticed is a Green Dot in the upper right hand corner of the screen during calls. I just tried a call to our landline (Xfinity). No sound from mic on called phone but I am hearing an echo on my phone which tells me the mic is working.
