WIP Cahe and TWRP ? - HTC U12+ Questions & Answers

Hi,
How to make a dalvik / cache wip, since not mean with TWRP.
How to also do a backup 'data' TWRP does not allow it either ???
We know how to make a backup system and boot, but nothing else!
Will TWRP evolve to solve this problem?

[Completed] Broken TWRP recovery Samsung galaxy s7

Hi I have recently installed TWRP onto my s7 but when I go to flash a zip, I go to the install option and it says internal memory =0mb and I can't see any of my files. Therefore I cannot flash any zips such as xposed etc.
(Note - I did get my phone in a boot loop before, if that changes anything)
Is there a way in which I could reset the recovery to show all my current files?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you ??
Hi !
Unfortunately you must format data in order to wipe encryption and this will wipe your device , you should have make a backup of your data before , then your internal storage will show up
Twrp recovery for your device here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/recovery-official-twrp-herolte-t3333770
Good luck !

wipe and flashing is now working but when i flash my 7.1 rom and even my 7.1 nandbackup is now bootloop only the 8.1 is only working now im stuck in unofficial 8.1 with full of bugs i cant downgrade bootloader also
Twrp:
Format cache, systam, data to ext4, reboot bootloader, go to twrp, format all back to f2fs, reboot bl, twrp, flash any custom for N modem.
Apps & data you can restore/extract with titanium backup or nandroid manager app.
Before this you can try restore or flash boot.img(extract from custom.zip), reboot twrp, wipe all & format data then restore your backup. @22pises

TWRP no option to wipe cache

Somebody also noticed that there's no option in official twrp to only wipe cache?
there is on mine. but everytime i wipe cache , the logs says "cache is not mounted".
[Edited]
Nope , just checked it, and its just shows "Dalvik / Art Cache" . i just realized it
Yupp. Even in stock recovery was the option to wipe only the cache. Weird... Is there any other way to wipe the cache?
Btw, I pulled up an issue request on GitHub. https://github.com/TeamWin/Team-Win-Recovery-Project/issues/1254

I think it's relevant with that slot a/b thing(?)
how about in the unofficial of twrp?
you have to use stock boot.img and wipe cache in recovery.
after a ROM update go into recovery and wipe cache before installing TWRP / Kernel / Magisk
otherwise no way.

Cant upgrade because of faulty TWRP, need help removing TWRP

Hi,
I accidently flashed TWRP, but i was already on emui9 so twrp doesent work there.
Now i can update the EMUI anymore because when the phone restarts during the install process it goes into recovery (twrp) which causes the update to fail
My question is: Can i remove twrp, maybe by flashing the orignal ramdisk image? pls help
You would have to reflash the recovery partition... Which we don't have, and since TWRP is kind of broken on EMUI 9.... well...
Can you just wipe caches and reboot to get the phone working? The update is stored in the cache partition, if you wipe cache it should boot normally.

Not if you are on EMUI 9... I don't believe so as we don't have the factory image for it, and to my knowledge we can't just dd it or make a backup of it right now. Although you might be able try the downgrade to 8.1 in another thread here, then upgrade via OTA again, but that's your choice.
I haven't installed TWRP on this devices, but basically go to the wipes menu, advanced wipes, and tick anything that says cache in it's name (often Dalvik cache and cache) and swipe to wipe them. This will not harm any of your data or applications, only the cache space. Then reboot.

Just flash your stock RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img*from your firmware. This will repair your recovery.
To extract images from*UPDATE.APP*in the zip, you have to use*Huawei Update Extractor.

What do you mean exactly?
Since Android 12, no more access to the original Recovery to make a Wip Cache
You can still access original recovery just like always, but it is correct that they removed the ability to wipe cache in it.
In lineage os 19+ recovery , the setting to wipe cache is located under factory reset for some reason.
