Is there some way to uininstall a system based htc service (htcmirrorlink) on Android 9 without to make a roll back to Oreo?
Thanks in advance
It seems like nobody knows if is possible, then i see myself forced to make a downgrade.

Hello, I was hoping to get some help from the community. I have a Nexus 5 (Sprint) running stock Android 4.4.4 rooted with TWRP (v2.6.3.1). I wanted to know if I could make the jump to Android 5.1 (not 5.0.1) since it seems like Google has address all of the major issues I had with the original release of Lollipop. Please I am still very new to the rooting scene so it would be of great help if someone could point me in the right direction and offer guidance. I have tried to to search the forums to see If I find a threat like this one but I haven't had any luck. Thank you for your help in advance.
P.S: Although I am running stock, I did modify the WiFi tethering : "Settings Storage">"settings.db">"global" in case that matters somehow.
Hello there,
My android version is 4.0.4, Kernel 3.0.13. The device is already rooted. I want to update it to the latest Paranoid Android version. I thought I was tech-savvy enough to pull it off on my own. But I am not. The prospect alone of a "bricked" phone haunts me. I am also oblivious to what happens AFTER a successful Paranoid Android update. Will the data of all of my applications be wiped out? Does Paranoid Android have it's own messaging, dial and contacts app? Calendar app? Or do we have to download the necessary applications? Can we revert back to our stock rom if Paranoid Android doesn't have all the needed features? What if doesn't have a camera app of its own!? My phone doesn't have an official Paranoid Android rom on the web. You've probably never even heard of it. It's a QMobile Noir A5 Classic.
I really fell in love with Paranoid Android. If there is any way you guys can help me, please do.

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
If a bricked phone haunts you, I would definitely hold off on pursuing any further. There seems to be big hopes but no development for this device. Worse, the rule of the ROM is that it has to be built very specifically for that device.
Even if there was a custom ROM for your device, the process of installing it (known as a clean flash), will wipe all app data from the phone (pictures and other files will likely stay). Also, I never used PA, but I believe it has all that you are looking mentioning above (particularly after installing Google Apps package, or Gapps). The Play Store can also fill in the missing gaps, such as if it doesn't provide a (decent) camera. You can revert back to stock ROM rather easily, as long as you have made a backup of that ROM in recovery (something else that is needed) first.
Unfortunately, in respect to the prospect of ROM's (or recovery), if there haven't been any milestones in two years, it's probably not going to happen.
Sorry.
Thanks, Joel. I think I'll stick to my stock ROM, in light of what you've said.
Hello guru's.
Right now im on Marschmallow ROM (B513) on my mate 7. But new EMUI 4.0 is a bit dissapointing for me. So I was wondering If I remove it thought TWRP and remain on pure android 6.0. What all function will I loose, will be my phone fully working? Im sorry if there is already some info about it, but I didnt find it. Maybe can someone tell me the main advantages of EMUI?

There is no "Pure android" for Mate7. It just doesn't exist.

For pure Android you must change to Nexus...
EMUI is the system UI for the Mate 7. You can't just remove it. All you can do is strip a few Huawei things from it and run a different launcher, which makes it a much nicer phone to use anyway.
Here's some Huawei propaganda about EMUI 3

If someone has access to the complete Android source code of a phone, say froyo, what are the biggest hurtles preventing an upgrade to a later version, like kitcat or Oreo?
Thanks

I already rooted the phone but do I need to install recovery just in case?
Can anyone recommend me a good rom? Thanks.
