as mentioned in above subject just curious about updated version of Android 10.
are we going to get it officially ? if not then any hope for any custom rom developer will work on our device for android 10 ?

Officially not, Samsung already revealed the phones that will get Android 10, and from the Galaxy series, only S9 and S10 series will get it, S8 is out of feature updates.
Custom rom tho? It depends of the devs mostly, if no dev wants to work with Android 10, then possibly not custom Android 10 either

Yep I just picked a pixel 3a XL and it's awesome. Android 10 is really smooth and I believe these phones get 3 years of updates
We can say a lot of things about iPhones but man their support for a bazillion new official updates is a really nice thing.

We all know that most android phone get supported for 18 month thats a year and a half making your devices almost getting to major updates , so our note 3 original came with 4.3 jellybean and receive (update 1) which is 4.4.2 kit-kat and will receive (update 2) which is 5.0 lollipop am talking about touchwiz am sure there will be newer rom but aosp based stock , we all saw early build of lollipop update in (note 3 9005) and seems also the exynos version may get it also ,

Most likely not. They're in the business to sell hardware not keep old hardware running.
I'm sure but by time 6.0, M or whatever comes out the Note 5 or 6 will most likely be out.
Doesn't matter. Technology advances, but when I had the original galaxy there were roms with the latest OS. from devs. It all goes back to...Samsung is in the business to sell hardware not OS updates.
Even if they do, by the time a new Android is released, I'll most likely have bought a new phone.
It will continue to get small upgrades, but it will not get any more major ones.
This is nothing new.

1-what bothering me is that maybe newer features supported by a new version of android our note 3 not supported yet and i know we will never get that features ported to our note 3 so will be developers who can port a full android version like s3 which get kit-kat ported to international i9300 custom based rom.
2-i just try to guess maybe newer android is going to be android m or what ever will be
3-i don't care about there answer nor i asking them i ask developers here and owners of note 3 like me
4-emmm i will just stick to 5.0 and when new os came and my note never supported i think i will just came hear to see if they can do something like s3 done

Samsung have announced that OneUI (the new Samsung's user interface) will come to Galaxy S8, S8+, Note 8, S9 and S9+, so this is my question: do you think OneUI will come to the mid-range A8 2018 with the next official Android Pie update?

No, it was confirmed that it will not. None but the flagships will get it (S8 and up and the Note 8 and up series).

This is sad news (if that is true). Maybe Samsung will include OneUI in their new A8S next year. This proof shows that Samsung mistreat their mid-range and low-range devices.
Do you think OneUI will be available with a custom ROM? (this would require root access, right?)

It should come judging by previous a series phones which all received 2 major updates, and pie would be the 2nd major update for the a8. I doubt Samsung would develop a special version of pie that is not one UI for the a8, and it would make sense to use one UI.

Nokia always gave timely updates to their devices, this matter doesn't really have any effect on other androidone devices. Nokia also adds other features to their phones (they're all androidone afaik), like round ui, pixel blue accent color and cam2api. As far as updates go, xiaomi isn't that good with their androidone phones, so don't get your hopes up and get frustrated afterwards. I would love to have Android 10 soon but, I know it's not gonna happen. Cheers.
its strictly related to nokia, this. the fact that they will push it sooner then xiaomi means nothing to us. it all depends on Xiaomi when they will start working for it, and when will they release... nokia is known for being faster to update then xiaomi thats for sure. so just sit and wait
...or, you could install unofficial android 10, there is a good GSI version here on xda which works fairly well.

My brother is using a Nokia 7 plus and I had Android 9 weeks before him and even with security updates Nokia isn't faster all the time compared to Xiaomi.
I've never managed to get any kind of custom rom working through TWRP because of the kinstalldeviceopenerror.

Okay let me ask this, do you consider the Pie update we got as stable? Because I still think that we never got a stable build of Pie from Xiaomi. I can't even update to September update because it breaks the digitizer for me and I can't even use the screen properly. I have no idea how stable is Nokia's version of Pie but maybe you can enlighten us about that.

In my eyes our Android Pie is very stable. I never had to reboot my device due to system instability bugs. The worst one I ever had was the screen rotate flash bug. My battery backup after one year of usage is still superb, usually I get 7 hours of screentime within 5-6 days of usage. Most reported bugs appear to be on devices which had installed custom firmware and messed up vendor partitions.
The only thing I dislike on this device is the low headphone sound volume while using a European Union display language. I'm just using U.S. English to fix that.
I don't know about bugs in Nokia phones, my brother never told me about anything special and I can't check his phone because he's in England and I'm in Germany.

Nothing official, but I think q1/2020 would be a good guess.
Last year Mi A1 got the Android 9 update on the 23rd of december.
My guess is Mi A2 Lite will get Android 10 in late december.
Bad news everyone samsung have just released there official update schedule for android 10 and the S8 is not on the list so it looks like samsung are still only doing 2 years of version updates. Which is sad I use an S8 as my work phone and an s10 plus as my daily will not be getting the s12 enless they change how long they support there devices for.
Just wanted to know people's thoughts on this and get a discussion going.

Strange .. I believe J7 Prime from 2016 still getting Q, which is 3 years old. It already got Pie.
It came with Marshmallow.

i think we need to wait until some dev will build android 12 for our Bacon.
i asked that question too, we can only hope. I'm pretty confident we will get lineage 19 somewhere this year. Major custom roms on the other hand.. difficult to say. We just have to wait

even the galaxy s3 seems to get android 12. the opo is more comparable to the s5 hardware wise
