As the title says but I think using the OTA maybe a mistake because did not One Plus say going from the Open Beta to the released version of Android 10 will require you to wipe your device ?

If I can be sure going from Open Beta to Android 10 will not require a wipe I would go to the beta, otherwise waiting a few weeks will not kill me.

What do you mean? Open Beta 1 for the OnePlus 7 Pro is Android 10. Going from stable to open beta doesn't require a wipe, just going from open beta to stable does. It's recommended to wipe, just because Android 10 introduced a new partition system, but you don't have to unless you have issues. I went from stable to DP4, DP5, and Open Beta 1 just fine without wiping (dirty flash over stable), but it's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to flash the downgrade zip if going from Open Beta to stable, because of the partition differences.
I got an "update" on Oxygen Updater... It says : Update to ob1

Rooted and magisk installed on beta 9, is it possible to go back to most recent stable firmware with out downgrading first?
Just download stable version , place on root and update localy
Sent from my GM1910 using Tapatalk
Tried and installer said couldn't install because firmware is lower then installed ....but then oxygen updated wasn't granted root permission
I needed to use MSMTool... It was a pain in the arse... Check around XDA how to use this MSMTool, there are some tutorials around.
Edit: sorry, forgot to mention that it will downgrade and wipe all your data.

MSM tool to any version.
Hey guys!
I'm currently running the open beta 2 of OxygenOS11 and saw that the stable version just got released.
I usually use Oxygen Updater to get updates, but how do you switch from beta to stable?
Is a full reset needed?
Oxygen updater also doesn't show any updates (under the different options like full update, beta, incremental, etc), so not sure how to switch to stable in the first place...
There's a "revert to stock" zip data on the OnePlus Forum for the beta releases, this zip is the only one to get back to stable without any pc or something, you just have to install that zip (it will format data) that will bring you back to stable and from there you have to install the new Android 11 stable update. And no there is no way to keep data. You can make backup's, that's it
I just installed the Global OnePlus 8 11 Stable build from XDA over my OOS B2. Didn't bother with going back to stock. It did reset the device, but it worked just fine.

I used the "local upgrade" option and installed right over beta 2. I use magisk, flashed to inactive slot after that. Everything seems to be working just fine now

By reset to you mean it won't wipe the data?

Hello
I want to flash stable rom OOS11, I still have Beta 3 with Magisk root but no TWRP
What are the steps to flash stable OOs?
I saw it needs factory reset but how to do it and flash the rom if I don't have TWRP?
As far as I know, until last night, OnePlus had pulled the "stable" version of OOS11 d/t multiple bugs. You might wait until a stable version is released which should be coming soon.
FYI: When you install OOS over the beta version , your device will be wiped during the post-install reboot.
Hi there guys,
yesterday i wanted to update from Android 10 to Android 11 stable, the problem is that i accidentaly installe Android 11 Open Beta 3.
Now i tried to manually download the OTA full package for Android 11 stable but it doesn't work, the system doesn't let me install it.
Since I'm out of warranty, would you suggest unlock bootloader, root it and reinstall a clean Android 11 wiping everything?
Thanks!

You can eventually try to wait for anything like OOS 11.0.0.1 etc. which will have newer update date that you would be able to install.
In the end, i decided to unlock bootloader and to root it.
Thank anyway.
I am on Android V 9.0 /OOS 9.0.2. I am wanting to flash /e/ and it seems I need to be on the recent Android version as the instructions say "please ensure that the device is on the latest Android Stock firmware same as the version of the /e/OS you are planning to install."
When I run System update it says my updates are current. How do I update Android to a current version?
I am a user so please keep things as simle and as non-tech as possible. Thanks

Issue resolved. I used the MSMDownload tool and flashed a Ver 10 zip to the phone

just in case someone is in the same situation as you, you just need to update to OOS 9.0.9, you can do that by downloading the update package and installing it through local update option, once you are on that specific version you'll get an update notification for 11.1.2.2
Is there any way to update oos 10 to 11 only on slot A? As i understand when i am updating with the stock update app it switches slots after the update, but i have Windows 11 installed on the slot B
