Optishield Lux tempered glass for s10 - Samsung Galaxy S10 Accessories

Anyone has experience with this glass ? I wanted to buy AmFilm but can't find any seller in EU, reading all this whitestone dome bad reviews I am not sure if i want to pay that much and then have problems with it, if anyone can recommend some other brand or has experience with optishield i would like to know, I want tempered glass that works with fingerprint scanner.
Cheers

Hello,
I have a samsung galaxy s8+ and i have tried many protectors. I absolutely hate the ones that have black line on the edges. I have used Whitestone Dome one and I was super satisfied. I have also used Optishield Lux and that one was also great. So either of those 2 will work great, don't worry about it.

Any tempered glass screen protector recommendations?

Hey all,
I've used one on my note 4 since day 1 and its been the best investment. Not a single scratch on my pretty and its unnoticeable. So far on amazon I see a bunch of small brands marketing theirs. Wanted to know if anyone had an experience with Sparin, ijoy etc. Maybe the consensus is to wait for Spigen, Steinheil and others to come with theirs? Please chime in.

Nothing has worked very well on the s7 edge. I gave up after dumping about 200$ into different brands.

There are really no good curved ones for the S7 Edge except one from China and that one seems to break very easily. Doubt it will be different for the note 7. I'll either go with a flat tempered glass that only protects the flat part of the screen or the IQ liquid shield. The IQ shield that I have on my S7E is okay but nowhere near as nice as a tempered glass protector.
I'm not sure if it was a Gorilla Glass 5 sample, but I swear I saw a Samsung branded tempered glass on a YouTube video (the ones made by the reviewers) from the day of the presentation.
Give a look when the camera rolls over the accessories on the tables on stage.
I'll check it out...thanks. if I can get a glass one I will have to rotate a bunch of skinomis and Chuck em at the orange peel phase.

I ordered that one since I use their tempered screen on my Samsung Tab S2 and have had no issues so far.
I have a follow up question on this... based on the S7 edge screen protector discussion it seems that even if a protector works it doesn't work with cases. Has anyone tried modifying the case like shaving off a little bit so it fits the screen protector? I have been wondering if that could be a way to make it work.

Good Luck. There is a big difference between a flat and curved tempered glass protector. Most of the flat glass protectors work well.

Yeap, I experienced this when I bought the S6 Edge and returned it due to no tempered glass working perfectly with the Edge to Edge display. I'm hoping things improved since the curve display has been out for a while and this has a slight curve to it.
I've always used tempered glass protectors since my S4. my dad has an S6 Edge and I bought a few different tempered glass protectors and they do not work properly at all. They usually all have an "edge" adhesive. Just a strip of glue around the edge of the device instead of the whole screen like flat screen devices.
For this phone I bought the Skinomi note 7 protector.

That's a shame. I bought the Skinomi HD Clear protector as well. Bummer that no one has risen to the occasion yet. I'd be willing to fork over $50 for a proper protector to not have to worry about what I mate my phone with in my pocket.

Are those films any good?you know the ones tat say that are used on helicopter blades.
I bought two curved glass from Amazon.
here is one https://www.amazon.com/Tempered-Pro..._SR160,160_&psc=1&refRID=Z343M09T5D72J2425XPP
If they don't work I am sending them it back for my money back. I think worse case I use the one without curves. I think the note 7 curves are at more of an angle so maybe it will not be that bad with the flat glass.
https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Te...&sr=8-1&keywords=note7+screen+protector+glass
Just played with the note 7 at the sprint store and they had a screen protector on it that only covered the flat part. Couldn't tell if it was glass or not but it definitely affected the use of the phone.

How did it affect it?
It made it hard to swipe from the edge for the edge apps. I guess not a complete deal breaker, but I would rather just go with a full coverage wet application.

Do Tempered glass screens work with the S-pen

Hey everyone
I have just bought a Samsung Note 9 and awaiting it to be delivered to me.
I always use tempered glass screen protectors but I am worried about using the S-pen with the protectors.
Does anyone know if you can use a tempered glass screen protector with the S-pen effectively.

I have the white stone dome protector and it works flawlessly with the S pen You don't even need to turn up the screen sensitivity
I wondered about liquid screen protection and I am watching one on EBay but I was wondering if normal versions work as well....i don't want to fork out all that extra if normal tempered glass works just as good as well.
I purchased the MP-MALL tempered protector and have not issues with the S-PEN. Looks good and hopefully will protect well. It is on amazon for about $12
Go with WhiteStone Dome they are tried and true. The best tempered glass I have ever used and it worked with the S-Pen and alot of cases I have tried.
Zagg one seems to work fine, imo it registers the pen better than finger keyboard stroke.
I bought a few different brands on Amazon. They all showed up in the same brown box with different labels printed out, they are fairly sharp at the top and bottoms. T-mobile has a glass cover that os actually tapered and smooth. They all work amazingly well with the pen. Although sensitivity does need to be turned up for finger use. I downloaded a multi Touch test app to confirm

The only down side is that they are over priced and they do crack easily as reported by many.
The Mocolo is half the money and is made with 9H hardness which the White Stone isn’t. The Moloco is as good or better as the whitestone, as responsive and as easy to apply.

I'm not worried about a $40 screen protector when I just paid $1,300 for the phone. I've had the screen protector on multiple phones now and I have not cracked or had any issues with any of them. Unless you're a complete klutz and you drop your phone multiple times a day you won't have any cracking issues.
i bought glass protector from aliexpress similar to whitestone dome but a lot cheaper one piece cost around 5$ only
'
first one was not perfect good thing i bought 2 extra
second piece i installed it and it fit perfectly on the screen only thing i installed a bit lower than it should be
so it almost touch the case from the lower side but there is a big gap on the upper side
i got a bubble on the lower side from testing several case because as i said it installed lower than it should be.
the spen and finger worked perfectly with it and alot better than the regular glass with matrix dots the stick from the sides only and i did not turn on screen sensitivity on both protectors
I had the ghetto whitestone setup on my Note 8 (LOCA glued a regular tempered glass screen) and now the whitestone on my Note 9. No issues at all and no changing of screen sensitivity.

I await your future posts about glue making a mess and bubbled lifting corners. Just get a wet applied plastic film , not perfect but definitely less hassle and no issues with sensitivity, I don't even have that extra sensitivity option turned on my device.

This is my experience, as well.
They should work perfectly fine as S-Pen functions using electro-magnetism. Via the electro-magnetic Wacoom digitizer underneath the display.

Hey everyone... Thought I would update you on on my Note 9 and screen protector issue... in the end I went with the Liquid screen Protector but I didn't get WhiteStone Glass.... I used a cheaper alternative and it works really well.... Also looks really vivid.
The Ebag seller who I got it from is called Itocorp but they seems to be out of stock at the moment.

Question What screen protector are you getting?

It appears there are already a ton of screen protectors, and I definitely want to get one. My preference is glass or a hybrid, not a tpu. I've been looking at the zaggs but they are expensive. However, I have one on my galaxy watch 4 and I have yet to have even a scratch on it (self healing).
So, what are you getting, did you get?
Whitestone Dome Premium Film is what I ordered. Will install it as soon as my S22U arrives
I have the Whitestone Dome glass 2pk from Amazon and it offered like a 30% off coupon I believe. I received the S22 Ultra delivery late in the day, so I haven't had a chance to set it up yet. But early tomorrow morning I'll install the Dome glass. It was perfect on my N20 Ultra, so I'm sure it'll be great on the S22 Ultra.
Got the Amfilm UV tempered glass. I'm terrible with these installations and botched the install. Good thing Amfilm has a lenient warranty unlike Whitestone. I also see a white halo around the fingerprint scanner when looking at white screens probably due to the the provided weight. They also didn't provide speaker stickers. Would probably not recommend Amfilm for this phone.

I installed the Amfilm and had a few bubbles appear. Did not need speaker sticker cause the glue never leaked passed the glass which was great. I contacted Amfilm and they are sending me a replacment glass for the one that had the bubbles. I also used Amfilm on my Note 20 Ultra and it works great. I used to use whitestone dome but it would always start to peel away on the edges. The Amfilm did not have that isssue and would last longer than a year with no peeling.
Zagg Fusion Curve. Had the guy at best buy put it on and it looks good. I don't have the patience anymore to install them and bubbles drive me crazy.
I have the Whitestone tempered glass on my S22 Ultra and was a flawless install and works great, some people have reported issues with the Whitestone tempered glass one with the FPR, but I have no issue with it.
If y'all get a good case you wouldn't even need a screen protector. I have had the s7 Edge, Note 8 and S20 Ultra and every time I traded in to Samsung the phones were in prestine condition without a single scratch anywhere on phone.
Th s7 Edge and Note 8 spent their life in an OtterBox Commuter case and most of every day in my jeans pocket while at work. With the S20 Ultra and S22 Ultra I stepped up to the OtterBox Defender Pro with belt clip. My 20 Ultra fell on the concrete floor of our restaurant kitchen 3 times and never sustained scratch because the OtterBox protected it.
I also never wipe my screen with anything but a microfiber eye glass lens cleaning cloth. I use Zeiss lens cleaner as well because it doesn't have alcohol and safe for eye glass coatings so it good for your phone screen too.
Not a marketing rep for OtterBox it's just my experience with their cases. The Commuter is good for people that want to keep phone in pockets. The Defender is good for people that work in harsh conditions and want to wear it on there belt. Point being a good case will save your phone in a fall and that fancy screen protector is not going to save your phone. The point is it is supposed to protect against scratches. But I have had 4 phones with Gorilla glass from Samsung and never scratched any of them with normal usage and having a good case protecting the phone.
The most important thing is never ever wipe your phone screen with a paper towel or chemical cleaners like Windex. Always use microfiber and lens cleaner. You don't need to carry lense cleaner around everywhere you go. Just use it when you home and carry the tiny microfiber cloth in your back pocket when on the go.
That's my experience on with phones without screen protectors. If your really want a screen protector by all means go buy one but they are not really necessary unless your extremely careless and don't have your phone in a case.
I like Matte finish to get rid of some glare so I went with the Skinomi Matte wet install film.
I went with the Mowei tempered glass screen protector. It comes in a pack of three and a very nice installation cradle to ensure a perfect application. I chose it over Whitestone or amFilm because it covers the entire front without the U-shaped cutout around the front camera.
I like this TPU (https://amzn.to/3sdn6HQ) screen protector. Took about 30 seconds to install, no bubbles, no orange peal... honestly looks like nothing is there. No edge lifting either for the 3 days I've had the phone so far.

Good to hear as I ordered this one and the Whitestone. They're both waiting for my graphite Ultra to arrive. I will try the ZAGG first since it's not as involved as the other.
One question though... Is the ZAGG glass, hybrid, or film? I won't open it until it's time to put it on.
Spigen Neo Flex. I've been using it since s8. It's reall easy to apply (wet application with possible realignment) and fairly durable for a plastic.
On a side note - it seems to be a little bit harder than neoflex for n20u which i was previously using
I had a matte hydrogel screen protector installed. Been on the matte screen protector bandwagon since the OG Galaxy S

I just got this same one last night from Verizon. Looks good and doesn't feel like a plastic film at all. FP sensor works wonderfully as well.
I remember when I had the Note 20 Ultra and my screen got a micro scratch on the first week.. I was so upset. Always got to have a screen protector on now. For my S22 Ultra, I got the ZAGG InvisibleShield for $50.. with lifetime replacement at bestbuy.

Question My advise for the Whitestone Dome users

I have used the Whitestone Dome screenprotector since launched and I have never used my S22U without it. All this time I have been annoyed by the slowness of the fingerprint reader.
As the screenprotector began to chip some time ago I figured giving the official Samsung screenprotector a chance is worth a try. Yesterday I replaced the screenprotector and I have to say, this screenprotector is amazing and it solved all my problems! 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254
No slow fingerprint reading, no hard pressing the screen. All without feeling like a cheap plastic screenprotector and being cheaper than the Whitestone Dome.
I you are having troubles with the Whitestone Dome screenprotector aswell I would recommend you try the official Samsung one.
I'd recommend completely avoiding Whitestone now, the quality isn't good anymore.
Totally agree. Will never use those again
Whitestone is terrible product
Maybe what is in this opinion with worse quality, especially that after 6 months I see begin "line from the glue" under glass on the edge screen.
In edition for s22u is 2 art glass, 3 tube glue, lamp compare to for example year ago note 20 ultra and only one art glass with similar price,
Special offer? I don't think so.
I'm using the AM film tempered screen protector for four months and so far , zero issues. Went for it as the curing was done in a single go with the box type UV light unlike Whitestone.
I agree with you about using the Samsung protector. But if you must use glass for whatever reason then i recommend the Am film over whitestone since the quality is much better. It's cheaper and the oleophobic coating lasts much longer than the white stone. But for now I'm sticking with the Samsung one since for being plastic it actually feels really nice. I forget i have it on

Question Tempered glass

Has anyone found any good tempered glass? UK owner here.
I have the Spigen - Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus Screen Protector GLAS.tR EZ Fit (2-pack). The fingerprint reader takes a major hit with glas protector vs with naked. But it works alright if you don't have super dry fingerstips. I do have Samsung's own plastic screenprotectors waiting on the side. I hear they work well with the fingerprint reader.
I have the glas paired up with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case Compatible with Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus 5G - Black. It's a great combo.
So it's better to just stick with the TPU protectors to avoid problems with the fingerprint scanner?
You need to delete your finger prints and reregister after installing a glass screen protector otherwise it won't work very well

That's true, but still the fingerprint won't work nearly as good as without a screen protector glas. Fingertip must be a little bit moist for it to work well. If it's dry, it won't work at all. I'm tempted to remove this and test out the Samsung's own plastic screen protector.
Don't forget....

That is the way with the ultrasonic sensors, they don't like glass protectors. On the other hand, they are faster and better (most of the cases) with plastic protectors or without protection. On the other, other hand...they suck with dry fingers. My wife can't use the reader on s22 at all and for me it is lightning fast.

Oh noes, I'm coming from a 7T without a screen protector and I use my fingerprint sensor probably 100+ times a day lol. I ordered a Spigen tempered glass screen protector. I hope I can get my fingerprint to recognize relatively accurately..
My phone should be here tomorrow but the screen protector won't be here till the following day. Not gonna run my new galaxy naked, my 7t has a couple micro scratches that bug me.
had no issues with the fingerprint on mine, although ive not got a protector on yet. I might not bother as i really like this phone without one.
I don't pay more than £10 for TG but since Samsung struggles with it, I may get the Spigen one

I'm using the AmFilm tempered glass myself. Works really well. Initially, it was a bit spotty after I put it on, but then I just deleted and readded my fingerprints and it works super fast. I also really liked the applicator kit that came with this. It has a HUGE dust remove sticker that covers the whole screen, so my application is crystal clear.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMF5R4SL?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
The only time it hiccups is when my fingers are either really wet or really dry - and TBH, that's no different than how the scanner worked before the screen protector was applied.
I don't know if they have Best Buy in the UK, but I picked up their brand of tempered glass. It was 2 for $15 USD. Other than a tiny bubble on the left side you can only see when the screen is all white, I'm really happy with it. It also seems to be staying pretty clean. My fingers don't smudge it up too badly. I almost paid $40 for the Zagg but decided to give the Best Buy brand a shot. So far so good.
I use the spigen ones as well and have for multiple devices over the years. I like their camera lens protectors also. Amazon prices are much cheaper than their website prices.
