Hey im having a big issue, when trying to flash it gets stuck at param preload, but ive done the l2 driver install several times and still nothing. Sometimes it even says (In Red) Sahara communication. I cant boot twrp due to (FAILED (remote: Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error) oneplus 7 pro) and now my phones not responding to any kind of usb input at all, fastboot isnt even showing that there is a device. I dont know what to do. I need my phone back

My question is, is their a way to get my phone working again or do i need to go and send it off to Oneplus?
Nevermind I fixed it. Somehow my USB started working again, so I flashed twrp instead of booting and it worked.
Glad you got it sorted

I am having the same exact issue. I have tried many different things. My ICS boots but everything force closes. When I installed fastboot, adb, sdk, etc., everything installs but when I run fastboot oem unlock i get the remote: erase fail error, even though the phones display gives me the unlock option screen. I also tried to do a wipe in stock recovery and that does not take. Once booted into ics, though nothing works, I can mount the phone to my computer but when I try to copy over a stock image to reflash the computer gets an error and won't copy. I would also appreciate anyones help with any new ideas. I don't think its a hardware issue, but maybe?

I have same problem too,Any way to fix this ?
Paper Weight
My nexus s has the fail problem too and so does my daughters, nothing will fix this problem but a new motherboard. Its a result of a hardware failure.I have tried even reseating the chips. My fix was searching the net for people selling their phone due to broken screen.I found one so far for 50 bucks and bought it.Fixed my daughters with easy by changing the board.I have spent hours upon hours reading articles on this problem. The best article i read addressing the problem was the placement of chips too close to the edge of a circuit board. After looking at the placement of the memory chip in my nexus s,I fully understand why it fails.Just by upgrading your phone and causing the phone to over heat a bit could warp the BGA seating of a chip resulting in a paper weight so to speak. This is only my response to how i feel on this subject. The end result for those with no warranty.Search the resell sites for a phone with broken screen and fix.
any solution yet ?
i look at my phone every day on my desk and ... :crying:
my phone turn back on after full wipe but storage freezed
for example wen i copy file/ delete/ format / ... and turn usb storage off and on again (without restart) everything backed !!!!

Do you mind posting what you did that was able to work? I have to wait to find someone that will let me use a windows computer to run the flash tool I guess as I cant run it on Mac OS X
Stuck on the TWRP screen, and flashing zips doesn't work, every reboot brings it to the TWRP screen and I cant seem to find system.img or boot.img in the file directory from that screen so I am thinking it ALL got wiped
Thanks for any help
Just a little FYI, you named the thread hard bricked, however you were only soft bricked. Hard Brick is a dead phone... No power, no lights, or any response.

Hello anyone reading this, the other day i was at a birthday party and was just randomly browsing facebook on my phone when the phone ran out of battery. When i got home and put it on charge, it booted to the home screen, i put my lock code in and then it would start loading everything but then it just suddenly freezes so i had to keep restarting it manually and after a few goes, it got to the point where it would not go past the boot screen and now it seems as if it has like no idea what its doing.. i went into fastboot and factory resetting it but nothing happened, and when i go into recovery and try to wipe anything, it just freezes and does nothing. It wont even recgonize a usb cable and i have installed it on my computer before, and i have got to the point where i dont know what to do can anyone PLEASE help? :crying: :crying: :crying:

Sounds like you modified your boot.img or your boot.img got corrupted.
It seems you'll have to flash your stock firmware to fix this.

Hello, I'm experiencing logging problems with the jakeyiii account. However umm your saying its the wrong boot.IMG I haven't touched the boot atall. I was watching YouTube videos while being connected to the laptop for charge. Even if I was to try putting a stock boot image onto the phone its impossible because soon as I see the logo "InFocus" it comes up saying something "cannot load the correct dtb file!!!!" Can't boot into fast boot either as when I try to boot into fastboot that's the message it says "cannot load the correct dtb file!!!!!" When trying to turn on normally it just vibrates and does nothing.
Any clue how to get stock back on?

I said it sounded as if "you" modified boot.img OR your boot.img got corrupted "on its own". You said that you didn't modify anything so of the two possibilities I listed, which possibility does that leave?
Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk

The remaining possibility is it just got corrupt on its own this is the second time this has happened to me. The first one happened like 4 months after getting it and the n again 9 months after that. So currently stuck using a family's phone to message here haha.
If I can't boot the phone in faceboot or even recovery any clue how I can solve this?

You might can try the script from the thread linked below in the "using adb" section, it might allow you get connected to adb while in bootloop at the InFocus screen.
From there you can try a dd command to push a copy of your device's boot.img if you can find a copy of your firmware and extract the .img from it or you can try getting someone with your device to pull a copy of boot.img from their device for you to use.
Have you tried booting to safe mode?
Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
Hello
Yes I've tried to boot into safe mode can't boot what so ever. It just vibrates if I try fast boot I get the DTB file error. And no one near me has a in focus.
I can't enable USB debugging because it won't boot and can't use ADB because it won't find the device as when USB is connected the phone trys to boot and restarts constantly .
have you found solution to it bcos me have same problem

Hi guys,
EDIT: Seems like i should have searched better before posting this. Just found https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2/help/brick-t3897949. I'll come back if i dont find anythign there...
EDIT 2: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79137071 was the solution. Just keep pressing the power button (even if the device keeps trying to boot up) in fastboot. After like 20 times it tried to boot-up, i checked 'fastboot devices' and it actualy appeared. Then i was able to './flash-all.sh' the factory image!
i bought a Pixel 2 some days ago to get into AOSP development. I built a fresh AOSP using the "official" guide (No extras, vendor blobs from Google directly, ...).
After flashing system/vendor/boot it failed to boot. No big deal - just flash a factory image again - or not ... no devices available in fastboot. And it gets worse: It won't even show up in lsusb.
Sooooo, i think i bricked my brand-new Pixel 2. I can start in fastboot-mode (Actually it starts in fastboot-mode even when i'm plugging it in to charge), and it shows an error "ERROR: Slot Unbootable: Load Error".
- Fastboot starts but the device does not provide a USB-Interface
- Fastboot shows "ERROR: Slot Unbootable: Load Error"
- Unable to load the battery
- Recovery/Download-Mode not starting aswell
Is there anything i can do about this besides throwing it away? :crying: Any hints are appreciated.
Br,
Thomas

Yes thats a good question are these phones bootloader locked that having been semi bricked and then used the power button to get it into fastboot that allows flashing? Ive seen this question asked and no one has said yes or no.

SAME HERE! Someone must be able to answer yes or no right?
I've had the same thing with my walleye but it's bootloader unlocked so was able to flash a full factory image to restore it. If on a locked bootloader but you'd only be able to flash/sideload a full factory OTA image to try and rescue it (which I've no experience of trying)
