I wanted a stopwatch app specialized to my needs. Here are some features:
really gigantic display (so I can see it from 50 feet up at the gym when rock climbing)
adjustable fractional precision (default 0.1 seconds; if you increase it to 1 second, you save battery)
start/stop with volume buttons
keep screen on option
lock orientation option
full screen option
don't use CPU time when navigated away from (but still keep time)
copy to clipboard (long tap on time)
choice of fonts and colors
relatively small apk (less than 150kb currently)
support for old Android versions (I got it down to 1.6, actually, despite the subject heading)
no ads, no in-app purchases
minimal permissions (runs on boot to detect that the running time was invalidated)
open source

Note: I had to render the giant numerals as paths rather than using a font, since my LG V20 refused to render numerals more than about 1400 pixels high.
Now up on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=omegacentauri.mobi.simplestopwatch
I added an optional start delay with a 3-2-1 countdown (voice or beeps).
I managed to get the compatibility all the way back to Android 1.6 (not actually tested). And the apk is now even smaller (about 130kb).
I added the Robot Black font for even darker letters.
And a clock (swipe up and down to choose between clock and stopwatch).
I just posted 1.23: the clock and stopwatch can have different colors.
I just posted 1.25. Better compatibility with Android 10+, option to show tenths of second on big display, and options to disable one or both clock modes.
Just posted 1.36. New options include: customizable delay, start/stop with screen tap, FHWA E font. And a bug fix for some crashes.
I posted 1.39. New option: periodic beep. I needed this option for a Guinness world record attempt (successful, though not yet submitted for certification), as the record guidelines required an "audible signal" of the end of the time period.

So to anyone using it would you like an option rather than to display date you could also choose from something like "Today, 5 hours ahead" ?
Also thoughts about something like this for displaying time rather than traditional numbers?
New update:
Added a date preference in settings where rather than show date next to time it will display as something like Today, yesterday, tomorrow and hours behind/ahead. See screenshot:

I'm working on more widgets
Updated with time zone converter
BTW, anyone think of some useful tools I can add?
Updated with a week number calculator. Enter a week number and year and get back the start date
Update:
I've added a pin local time option in settings. With this you can pin current local time to the top of the list or set your own time zone and use that instead.
Would anyone using the app find any of the tools on this page useful?

New update, filling a couple of requests:
Tools>Seconds to days,hours,minutes,seconds
Change color from main screen rather than recreating a clock
Anyone think of more tools I can add?
If anyone has a Kindle/Fire device this app is now available on the Amazon app store as well
I started development for this app longer than a year ago, now I'm releasing it. I learned a lot during development. The app is about counting down (or up) to any date. It can count in any unit (from seconds to years) and I really tried to create an elegant UI. I also created a small promotional video (note that the video doesn't show all the qualities of the app).
I already have several features in mind for future releases.

Google Play Description
Time Until: App & Widget
This app is an elegant and stylish way to count down to any date in the future. Set a timer or see how many seconds, minutes, hours, days, working days, weeks, months or years are left until an event that is important to you. Create as many countdowns as you want, and count down to any special date, like Christmas, a trip, a vacation or even the next Halley's Comet appearance. Select any image to set as a discreet blurred background for each countdown, or leave the default phasing colors background. And share the countdowns you create!
You can also set a past event and count the time since (just check "Time Since" in the settings to activate the function). For example, see for how many seconds you have been alive! The app interface is simple and intuitive, and in Kit Kat (4.4) and later, you can enter immersive mode by double tapping and the countdowns will take up the whole screen.
Add the beautiful and dynamic widget to your homescreen to have a subtle reminder of the time until (or since) a date. You can select from two styles: dark and clear. Each suitable for a personal taste or home screen background. You can also customize units for the widget. Widget and main app countdowns are independent for maximum customizability.
The app is completely free and has no restrictions, enjoy!
Expect future updates with new features and suggest any you want.
If you liked the app, please rate.

Color Rain
Download Version 1.3.5
Description:
Color Rain is a game I created based on the Stroop effect. Using different colors and their names, this effect occurs. The Stroop effect is defined as a demonstration of interference in the reaction time of a task.
How to play:
As fast as you can, tap the words that correspond to their color. Let 5 matches drop out of the screen and the game is over.
Hits are awarded for correct matches. Each match also adds to a bonus at the end. The sooner a match is tapped after appearing, the higher the bonus points.
Features:
*free
*no time limit
*change background color (in game only)
(color bar shown below options while adjusting)
About:
I created this app after playing a couple others using the same idea, the Stroop effect, but I wanted to add a twist. I also had a hard time with certain colors sometimes so in my version I added an option to change the background color. This will help others that are also color blind. This is my first official game release so its not perfect. I am continuing to work on it so it will get better. If you have any issues then please feel free to post a comment about it and I'll address it as soon as I can. If you're having a problem with things aligning, please post a screenshot. Thank you.
Currently working on new features to be released today...
*increase/decrease word size option
*option to disable multi-font for words
*high score saving
Here are some updates you can expect to see coming to the game soon...
*multiple play options (free mode, timed, speed, etc)
*online ranking system
** Updated **
High score is now saved. Decided against adding options to resize words or disable multi-font, for now. More to come!
Download here or use link in OP
Has anyone tried my game?
:good::good::good:
Gave it a shot, it's good. I'd like to see better overall look/art.
Thanks. I'll work on a better gui, since it is pretty basic looking at the moment.

FlightTime Calc is a flight time calculator , that helps you calculate your flight hours . It has the ability to add and subtract times , in the hh:mm:ss or hh.ddddddd format. The result is shown in (hh:mm:ss) Time Format or in (hh.ddddddd) Hours Format, with seven (7) decimal digits (e.g. 1.5000000 means one and a half hour).
All calculation history is shown in a list so that it will be easy for you to see what operations you made.
You can also, select and delete any operations you made from the list, if you think you had made a mistake. You call also delete everything in the list.
If you pressed an operation to be done, for example addition (+), you can easily change it to subtraction (-), by pressing the Button - or by simply touching the + symbol in the list's last line.
You can customize the application by changing the colors of background, buttons, times and the label " Total Time " from the settings, making that way, your personalized flight time calculator.
For flight time calculations' need, it supports up to five (5) digits in each of the time's field: hh, mm, ss. (e.g. 55555:55555:55555), for the Time Format (hh:mm:ss) and up to five (5) digits and seven (7) decimal digits for the Hours Format (hh.ddddddd).
Requires permissions:
• File Access - ONLY used for accessing the external sd in case someone wants to set an image as a background for the application from settings.
Here is a FAQ for this application that helps you understand how the application works, although it is simple enough.

This thread is no longer updated, use this link instead: https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/themes/fitness-apps-speed-pace-heart-rate-t3709791/
This app is similar to Always-On Speed, but instead of speed it shows pace, which is more useful for runners. Here is the full description:
This application shows time and your pace while keeping the device awake. It does not log your activity. Please read the information below before using the app.
Make sure that GPS is enabled before starting the app. In order to turn on GPS, start or start and stop a workout in the S Health app or enable GPS manually on your smartphone.
• The app cannot enable GPS on your phone automatically.
• The app is only as accurate as your phone's GPS.
• Touch the speed indicator three times at an interval of at least one second to change the unit of pace (min/km → min/mi). The app will remember your choice next time you launch it.
There are several features that reduce power consumption (currently at ~17% per hour):
• The rotating bezel on the Gear S2 can be used to adjust the screen brightness. Note: in bright sunlight the brightness level locks at 100% and cannot be adjusted.
• Only one type of subpixels is used at a time, either red, green or blue.
• As soon as you stop moving, the device will start vibrating every 10 seconds. The app will close automatically after 1.5 to 3 minutes of inactivity.
Features that prevent screen burn-in:
• Numbers move up and down the screen.
• Tap the time indicator to change the font color from green to alternating red and blue. Note: red or blue text has very poor readability in bright sunlight.
• Font size changes.
