I've had my note 10+ 9 days now, so far I like it. Only issue I'm having is with the smartview, it seems real buggy/glitchy. Trying to cast Netflix or hulu to TV the show/video glitches about every 10-15seconds.
Anyone have a solution for this?

Hello to all,
i would like to know if Chromecast works well on the Galaxy S6 with:
1) ScreenMirroring ?
2) 1080p 60fps made with the phone (smooth playback on TV) ?
3) 4K made with the phone (smooth playback on TV) ?
I really would like to buy this phone and because of the missing MHL port i want to know if it works fine with the above mentioned points.
Thanks a lot

Someone with the S6 and Chromecast that could gave this info?
thanks and best regards

i'm still waiting for the s6 but i have a s4 and a chromecast dongle
when samsung didnt changed anything i'm afraid the default "screen mirroring" function will not find your chromecast
it is only supported by samsung tv/dvd/etc..
you can add a AllShare Cast hub because as far i know this is the only supported receiver
BUT you can allways use the chromecast app to mirror your screen wich works quite well with most things
1080p is ok but i suppose 4K will not work well...
I'm afraid that clonednull is right. I have an S6 and a chromecast and it doesn't find it when using the built in screen mirroring. You have to use the Chromecast app to initiate it.
I had no idea this would be a thing. It used to worked with Nexus 5.
Could this be a Google issue and not Samsung?
The s6 is not on the list of supported devices at the moment. One can hope.

It is working quite well. I bought one for my partner which works with my S6
You have to use the Chromecast app, but Screenmirroring is supported, as are some of the basic apps like Youtube.
But of course the quality is not as good as it would have been using an MHL-Adapter( if that was possible).

It's working for me on the s6. I didn't watch a whole movie, but I got it to connect with Amazon instant video with screen mirroring. When you first turn on Chromecast in the upper left there is a menu that says "devices." In that menu you will find screen mirroring. It says it's a beta version.
There are already 2 things about this phone that Irk me.. Both being chromecast compatibility and MHL. I hope these issues can get worked out ASAP. dont know why samsung could not make the device at least MHL compatible...
Hey, guys, I tried out Hulu for the first time recently. Using the Hulu app on my Nexus 5 did not start off well because TV episodes would not load until I whitelisted *.hulu.* in AdAway and applied the change. After that was done, it didn't take long to notice the video ads that so many users complain about. The "com.hulu.livingroomplus" edition of Hulu that's designed for Android TV doesn't work without a custom AdAway whitelist either and that's a hassle to configure on the Nexus Player because the Android TV operating system at v5.1+ removes the three-dot menu from most apps (including AdAway).
When I cast Hulu from my Nexus 5 over to my Nexus Player which has AdAway installed (with no whitelisting), the requested content plays and the video ads are skipped. Can anyone else with the same or a similar combination of hardware try this out and report back with your results? I barely watch TV shows lately so I don't use Hulu often but it would be interesting to see how well this method works for users of this service.
Hi there, i got a Mate 7 today and i realy like it so far.
I just got one Problem with it, i can't Cast to my Nexus Player... it won't show up as an Cast Device in any App. ( Netflix, YouTube,Pocketcast etc.) BUT i can use the Android TV Remote App without Problems, connection there works just fine.
My Chromecast in my other room shows up just fine.
The Mate 7 runs Stock Rom with Android 5.1.1
All Apps are Updatet.
Mate 7 and Nexus Payler are in the same Network.
Any idea someone ?
PS: sorry for my weak English, i hope you can Understood it a bit.
I seem to get weird screen artifacts when trying to watch360° YouTube videos using Google Cardboard. The 360° videos work fine in normal viewing mode (i.e can look around fine by moving phone) but as soon as I hit the cardboard icon to switch to 'cardboard mode' (split screen video), the video has strange starburst artifacts.
It's fine when the phone is on a flat surface (looking down) but when you look up or around the artifacts appear.
I have uploaded a screen recording of the problem to YouTube but can't seem to embed video (or direct link) as a new user of these forums. Use the URL below to view:

Android version: 6.0
YouTube app version: 10.43.60
Anyone else have the same problem?
found this thread through google and also saw you posted on Reddit. Having the exact same issue with a Samsung Note 5 and newest Youtube

Well it's the weirdest thing but it is no longer occurring for me! I'm not sure what has changed, Android & YouTube app version are the same. I did fine tune my cardboard settings by creating a custom QR code at:
google.co.uk/get/cardboard/viewerprofilegenerator
but I had already tried that a couple of times before and it didn't fix my problems (though it did seem to reduce severity of artifacts). Perhaps I just stumbled across the correct config 3rd time around? the default config that came with QR on the cardboard version I bought was terrible – double vision etc.
Same problem here with a Galaxy S6 and a BoboVR Z4 headset. The weirdest thing is that I started to see these screen artifacts just a few weeks ago, for no apparent reason. Everything had been working fine for me on Youtube 360° videos until then. By the way, I've tried several different profiles (QR codes), to no avail.
Same problem here with a Galaxy Note 5 & Dream Vision Pro I'm going to try some of the previous APK's of Youtube to see if I can get one working. It sounds like Youtube went and fixed something that wasn't broken again. Anyone else have the Magnet button stop working as well?
After a recent update of the app, I'm not noticing these screen artifacts anymore. Looks like it's been fixed.

Hi all
So I eventually got fed up of Samsung fobbing off far inferior Exynos chips to European markets. I have no regrets moving away from my Note 9 but have wondered if there is a solution on two things I really miss.
Folder shortcuts to Homescreen? This was very easy to do using the native file app on the note 9, I have tried several third party file management apps but none I tried have this feature
Streaming video to a Samsung TV without having to keep the screen on? I used to be able to just stream a video file without actually having it playing on my phone.
Does anyone have any ideas or solutions to these two annoyances ?
Cheers !
