When streaming a movie using MX Player the sound does not come out correctly, it just gets loud speaker noise, only when I change the Audio output setting on the PCM Mi Box S to Auto that the sound works, but when Auto is active, I can't turn the volume up or down using the Mi Box S control.
This error does not happen with VLC.

No matter what, if notification sound is enabled, while I'm playing music through the headphone jack whenever I receive a message the music skips and the notification plays over the on-board speaker along with a small blip of the audio playing. Its extremely annoying.
Even when using PowerAmp, an app with settings that keeps the music from stopping when a notification is played can't keep the audio from re-routing to the on-board speaker for the duration of the sound.
Whats going on, and how can I attempt to fix this.

Thank you, looks like I'm flashing a new Rom tonight!
Hi,
I'm not sure if I'm the only one with that issue but when I turn on equalizer, i got breath (IDK if that's the right word in english, it's "du souffle" in french, a "shhhhh" sound) at each blank in a song.
No problem at all when equalizer is off.
I tried several earphone, in-earphone and headphone but nothing change. I tried other music player instead of Google play music, same issue if equalizer is on.
I'm on stock and rooted, anyway to get that breath off with equalizer ?
Thanks.
Hiss?
Does the Same happen when eq is set flat?

Have you played around with the EQ settings? It might be specifically Bass Boost or Surround Sound which is causing it. For the record, there is no audible hiss when using EQ for me.
I think that it's hiss.
No hiss when EQ set at Flat, i'm not using Bass boost or surround.
It seems to be linked to 14kHz frequency. I got the same hiss with the n7 2013 when i play with the 14 kHz frequency.
No issue with my Cowon J3. Weird, so i won't use this frequency.
Thanks to all anyway.
Edit : Hiss even with EQ off at very low volume (so i will increase it because it tends to disappear at higher volume, EQ just accentuate the effect at low volume) on both N5 and N7. Bad thing from coming from a great MP3 player such as the J3 lol.
Thanks anyway
The Nexus 5 isn't the greatest audio player ever in terms of quality but there are things you can flash to make it louder. I believe there is even a ROM built by audiophiles.

So, I'm not sure if this bug can be addressed in MX Player, but here's the issue...
I listen to audio books, a lot of them. If the audio is CD quality without any background hiss, then there are brief pauses of silence between sentences.
When there is a pause of silence for maybe 500 ms or less, my bluetooth radio or bluetooth speaker goes into a power saving mode until sound is heard again. When the silence ends and speaking resumes, the first syllable of the first word is usually chopped off.
How to address this?
1) If MX Player can instruct Android to 'Stay Awake' the bluetooth radio, that would be best.
2) If MX Player can send a barely audible signal or background hiss, that would keep my bluetooth radio/speaker from dozing off due to lack of signal being transmitted.
Again, this happens between almost every sentence if there is no background music or tape hiss. It also happens when listening to some talk radio programs I've listed to. To be clear, it's not [just] between tracks. I also turned off the options to fade in and out.
I am unable to enjoy audio books from any wireless headset or speaker.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-I747 AT&T (d2att), running either stock 4.0.4 or 4.4.2 or CM12.1 nightlies.

Audio silence is actually not silence on device's view of point. While playing an audio stream and there is no sound, player actually sends series of silent packets. It means bluetooth speaker is still receiving packets even though it does not produce any sound.
Anyway, would you send more information to reproduce this issue on my side?
1. Sample video clip that can produce this issue.
2. Model name of your bluetooth speaker.
Hello,
im using a Asus zenfone 4 max with the latest firmware.
The playback of recieved voice messages is very quiet.
When i use the vlc player to play the opus files it is a huge difference. In VLC it very loud and clear.
Whats wrong with whatsapp? Any idea to tune the volume up in whatsapp? is is set to max volume in the settings.
Hi all, first post here so please be gentle. I have a bluetooth speaker (Braven Ready Elite) that I use in a loud environment to listen to music and sometimes movies. I use the MX player app to watch the movies and am able to get the volume much louder when I use the boost volume option in the MX player app. In order for volume boost to work, I had to change the decoder from HW decoder to either HW+ decoder or SW Decoder in the app settings. It works excellent. I am very happy with the boost in volume for my speaker. For music, I use Spotify. I would like to have some sort of booster to make the music louder on my speaker. The best I can do is disable the EQ in the Spotify app and the speaker will go louder, but not nearly as loud as the movies in the MX player app when I enable the volume booster in the app. I have tried many volume booster apps but I think those are more for the speaker on the phone to go louder. I don't need that. I would like something comparable to the volume booster that is in the MX player that makes my bluetooth speaker go much louder. My phone is a Google Pixel. It is not rooted and would like to avoid doing so. Sorry for the long post but I think I've explained what need help with. Any help would be appreciated.
