Your Favorite ROM? - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

With all of these official roms coming over to our device, I would like to know what are some of your guys favorite ones.
The only one I've really played with and have been using for awhile now is HavocOS. It just seems to have to most stable and up to date features and ALOT of customization options.
What roms do you guys prefer for customization and performance??

I think there's another thread like this but my favorite is Havoc for sure! Though I've been using OOS for the moment till wifi calling is working.

This is already being discussed.

[Q] Most customizable ROM?

I'm looking for the most customizable custom ROM. Cyanogen Mod 7 is always good (I think at least), but I also read something about Super AOSP. According to the big rom and kernel guide at the development section, it has supsetup which lets you customize every aspect of the ROM, which sounds like exactly what I want. If someone can explain what supsetup really is, that would be cool.
But I've also read that Super AOSP isn't getting updates anymore. Apparently there will be a new ROM in the (near?) future named Super OSR.
I've also read that Super AOSP isn't based on CM7, or at least very little. So what's better in terms of customizability? A ROM based on CM7 (or CM7 itself of course), or a ROM based on AOSP?

Too simple. Besides, I want it to be unique.
That's why I don't want MIUI. While it's themable, it's not really flexible.
And you only read my 'different homescreen' part. Please read my whole thread before commenting.
I would suggest CM 7 Nightly, but they have new updates alot. So if you want it to be a more constant stableness, check out the CM7 RC build. I read it almost ready for a full release, as far as being stable. Might want to check out the matrix kernal for CM 7 also, its pretty sweet.

Well, a lot of new updates is always good IMO. It keeps my phone fresh. That's another reason I liked MIUI. For example, it was cool when they introduced the new lockscreens.
As far as themability goes, are there ROMs that are more 'different' from stock Android, like MIUI?
Alot of rom's are based off stock, For compatability as far as service provider and certain functions of the phone. But some will add tweaks and options not available on stock. Like themes, already rooted, better wallpapers, different system apps but depends on developer. Cm 7 seems to have alot of options to change settings and appearance and how it functions. Make sure you have a decent kernal cause this can affect the performance of the options.

I'm not sure what you're asking. It sounds like you're looking for some completely different OS, but that doesn't really exist. The most you can really get is either a Sense-type ROM, which in truth is pretty similar to stock Android, MIUI, or some other home replacement.

Well, that answers my question than.
I did find the UI of the Acer Liquid Metal and Acer Stream pretty cool. It doesn't have to be like that 'out of the box', but I want to be able to change it to look like that, if you get what I mean.
I know CM7 looks a lot like stock ROM at first sight, but you can change it a lot untill it looks totally different. I've seen some homescreen shots on XDA to prove that. So basically what I want is a ROM that I can change the most to make it look completely different, not a ROM that is completely different out of the box.

Sounds like maybe your looking for a kitchen. Then you could personally customize it with apps and options to suite your needs.

Thanks! Will be looking at that. No idea what it is but some Googling doesn't hurt. Edit: so basically you can theme your whole rom with it? Make your own theme? Looks awesome! Their site isn't working right now but I've looked around on the internet. I still need a ROM with it of course. What would be the best ROM in combination with kitchen for the most customizability?
I rephrased my question because I think I wasn't clear. But can you tell me something about Super AOSP and supsetup?
Questions I have left:
- What is supsetup (a SuperAOSP feature)?
- What is the best ROM to go with UOT Kitchen in terms of customizability?
- Are there more mods that let me customize as much as possible? For example, could I be able to modifiy the settings menu, like the order of the buttons?
- What do I need to customize the living **** out of my Nexus S?
In short, a kitchen lets you add or take away certain options or apps in your rom. Wich allows you to customize its appearance and functionality.
Some kitchens if available, will have extra options or features. That way you don't need to go all over the place to find stuff for the kitchen.
This info might be outdated on kitchens, so look for newer info.
Don't know to much on super AOSP or the setup.
Just remember that even though certain options are available, doesn't mean it will be stable.

Which ROM is your favorite?

Hey,
Im Knivez and im new to XDA but i have been around lurking and reading forums around XDA i just decided to start posting because of the variety of custom ROMS there are to choose from now a days. I have a Mytouch 4G and i love it!
Im having some trouble, with all the different custom ROMS there are (MIUI, Sense, CM7, etc...) I cant seem to decide which one i want to use. I personally so far am a fan of MIUI because of all the customization options i have on it. But i also like sense because of the look.
Which ROM is your top choice, which one do you think is the most complete and well polished one with least bugs?

First of all, welcome to XDA! Second, I am personally a fan of CM, mainly because it's one of the few ROMs that are supported for my phone, but also because of the large base of users and small amount of bugs. (at least for me)

Yeah, unfortunately I'm growing bored of it as well. Hopefully, CM9 will be out soon
Well guys, welcome to XDA Forums. I have been here for a little while and actually tried as many roms as I could. MIUI Roms are not my stuff for personal motives, but I have tested the WP7 themed rom and it was ok. CM7 has great performance and battery drain was more than acceptable, however I am kinda hooked with Sense and then tried Android Revolution, WCX Illuminati and some others Sense based. In the end, I have decided for RCMIX3D Runny V4.0. It works smoothly, has many tweaks and although battery drain is not that good it doesn't have any of the AT&T bloatware and allows to switch some OC / UV scritps among other things.
See ya...
CM7 is so far my Favorite
I have a HTC Aria and have used Liberated Aria (Nice Clean Stock 2.2 Rom) and CM7 and I just love how much you can customize on it!
I've also installed CM7 on one of my Friends Samsung Captivate and he loves it.
Looking forward to CM9 though I'm sure I'm going to need a newer phone to really enjoy it
Does Sense count as a ROM? I tought it was just a UI.
Anyway, I like CM, because of the themes support and the lots of tweaks it have.
OxygenMod on N1 is the current one i am using
I would say CM is my favorite ROM, but sometimes I like using Redemption whenever I'm in the mood to use SenseUI.
I'm a CM fan right now.

You are right Sense it's just a UI but there are two kind of roms, Sense based and AOSP such as CM.
CM mod the best favorite
Im wondering something, is what makes CM so popular the extra settings that they add? because if its the home that can easily be downloaded onto any other ROM and customized (ADW Launcher, Launcher Pro, etc...)
I love both types but I'm leaning a little more towards AOSP (CM)

ROM with the most MODS

Hi,
I wanted to ask all of you fellow XDAers, which Rom you think has the most MODS featured in it. I am not looking at any other aspect (such as battery life, or speed), i am only looking at the mods that are featured in the rom. I have tried CyberGR before and I was quite contented with the amount of mods it had. The rom i am using now, CNA, is less capable in this regards, but more stable overall. Please provide your input.
Have you tried out the latest Cyber GR Tornado?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425344
Thanks for the suggestion.
I've been recently thinking of reverting back from CNA to CyberGR. There are a number of features I miss very dearly on CyberGR that are not available in CNA, such as the ability to increase brightness by means of drawing on the status bar, and using the torch widget for easy access to the flashlight.
By the way, how do other roms, such as cm9 or MIUI compare to CyberGR, for those who have had experience with all three of these roms. I remember CM7 having loads of extras and mods, such as swipe gestures in the lockscreen, and other likewise mods which made the user experience much easier and more efficient.
thank you for your input
I can add that AOKP rom is packed with features.

[Q] Best ICS ROMs using Kernel 3 - for performance and stability

Hi all,
I know there are some similar threads that address this, but I was hoping we could have one specifically for DS users who have been trying out the new ROMs to provide some ongoing input on what they have found to be their favourites and why.
I'm most interested in which ROMs have the least bugs, the greatest stability and the best performace. My current favourite is SenseMOD FlashONE v2.0.2, though it's close between that and PrimoS.
Having been on Endymion for quite a few months, I'm missing the features and all-round brilliance of that ROM, and am hoping lowveld is working on something But for now I am interested in testing the new releases and am enjoying the new UI and features of Sense 3.6/4 lite.
Please share.....
Thanks!!
Yeh primo-s........ or the new port from the russian version there is talk about within the primo-s thread
Right now, Primo S and FlashOne are your best choices. If you want to try something different, use AOKP by Tectas. Pretty awesome.
Off topic - You actually have your nickname after Endymion? Wow, lowveld really has something special there. Really hope he cooks up something for ICS soon....
Thanks a lot,
I searched for that, too :]
im running Tectas unofficial aokp and must admit i have been blown away by how efficient it is. makes the desire s an even better phone than before, think that the ics camera software has improved the shutter speed
Thanks guys, any input is appreciated, especially over the next few days/weeks, as the current ROMs see some improvements and some new ones appear.
I am back on Primo-S for now, might go back to FlashONE after the next update (being uploaded as I type this) but for now Primo seems the best.

Lol, lowveld knows my username, I think he found it a bit ridiculous
Endymion has been the best ROM on here for some time in my opinion, I appreciate the AOKP/CM based builds, but prefer lowvelds releases, and would rather have Endymion instead of Reaper; there's only so much customisation I'm interested in doing myself, and with a ROM like Endy with it's own control centre on top of RC tweaks, that's about enough to keep me satisfied.
Lowveld is quiet on the FTL/Endy threads, I'm hoping that means he's at work on something
- jacmeister/shrome/other tectas aokp fans - what would you say were the advantages over the ROMs based on the virtuous leak, and also over something like Endymion?
I am not too bothered about cam use, as I only occasionally use my phone for pics/video. I'm most interested in speed/stability and an aesthetically pleasing UI Too much customisation options and I end up spending an unhealthy amount of time on my phone tho
Thanks!

The tweaks and customization options available are INSANE on AOKP!!!
It's so much fun to play around with the options, I hardly used any app on it when I field tested it!!

Wow wow, I need to try it out soon! I tried a really early version months ago, and it didn't differ too much from CM9.
I'm waiting for nk111 and his CM9 build with kernel 3.0, then hopefully Tectas can extract the boot.IMG for his AOKP ROM!

I agree...
The Customization Options on AOKP are amazing. But I want a real stable ROM for daily use. So hopefully the Kernel related problems will be eliminated now. I'm just waiting a few more days for a Real Stable Release and new Kernel in a AOKP Version

Let's just say i'm having a psychological meltdown to resist flashing those new V3 Roms , i'm on virtuous saga and i love it, not the snappiest nor the most responsive but i can live with that i guess ^^;
Surprisingly, i fell in love with the russian ported primo-s mentioned in primo-s thread. Nothing fancy. It is the original and pure sense4a. No tweaks, no mods, no rosie. Just exactly like in the One V. And i keep the menu button as recent apps, don't want to fix it. I find it easier than hold down home button as i switch between apps a lot. And did i mention it's very stable and buttery smooth?

My first android phone was the nexus one and have always got the nexus variant when it came out. But always preferred the build quality of HTC. Which is probably why I like Aokp on the DS so much as its like a more modern N1. But this tectas build is rock solid and the customisations are insane. Has been really snappy and nothing seems to be dragging or slowing down the phone functions. I will try this primo s rom soon just to compare

Appreciating the input on here
What are people's opinions on the new releases and updates? My current favorite is lowveld's Fallout, that's the one I've found to be the most enjoyable experience so far. Saying that, I haven't had the chance to try the latest htc-phones rom, which had a new update today and a further one planned for tonight/tomorrow, with the Full Sense4 experience.
As much as I'm enjoying these new roms, I have not found one that I am able to feel completely satisfied with; I am trying to decide whether to stick to Endymion for now and check back on the new releases (Fallout esp. ) without flashing for a while and wait for the range of mods and tweaks that are to come.
Endy provides me with everything I could ask for, but the Sense4 experience is enjoyable and it's good fun to be riding the wave of these new developments. For me though, it's kind of a trade off between the consistent greatness of Endy or the new and exciting, though rather limited, experience of Sense4.
I imagine those coming from CM9/AOKP to Sense4 must perceive its limitations to be greater than I do - are many people sticking with Sense4 from now on to watch its improvements, or would you prefer, like me, to TRY and wait for the customisations and tweaks that will appear in the coming weeks?
Apologies for the long post....

After trying Fallout, I'm never going back to Endymion! It's just the right combination of light, fast and beautiful. And ICS is the future anyway... so makes sense. Plus, all the magic that had to happen on Endy has already happened. It's got everything working, with nothing to fix. Fallout on the other hand is still to receive its goodies, and i need that flashing experience to satisfy the craving inside of me!!

Rom suggestions

I'm getting fairly bored with the roms i've been using which have been 13.1 builds and lineageOS.
It's been a bit since I've experimented and I havent really got the time too.
Since Android 7 theres been new devs/roms, can any one suggest any?
Not bothered about features, just want best performance/battery (mainly performance though) also, open to kernel suggestions. Thanks. :good::silly:
