Outdoor brigtness - OnePlus 7 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, I cannot found nothing about this,so, Is there any method to increase the max brightness of Op7? I know that with my old op5 with Elementalx this feature was possible. Is there any kernel that suppor.t this feature? If you use this, can you post a handbook? I have noticed that the modding for this phone isn`t like the old op phones.
Thank you for a reply.

You can use the high brightness mode app in my signature. Root is required.

Does It also work with stock kernel?

Perhaps this is the thread you should visit
Thank you, you found the beginning post. Maybe i should specify my needs. I do not believe in apps which dimms the screen brightness by reducing contrast Ort luxing the colors. There will be still the same battery drain. So what do i search? The best (not sense) Rom with mddi kernel and ICs
Since a few weeks before, i used an old miui Version. But tethering was not working.ATM i am using pacman with battery drain ... And working tethering.

Neither you'll find a simple answer nor anyone can realy decide for you,
but perhaps in that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143855
thread you may find some sugestions or directions

increase screen brightness

Hi,
I have the Verizon Galaxy SGS3.
Here is the screen shot to give more info.
I'm trying to increase the brightness of the screen. I read in the below thread about editing the kernel and thereby increasing the brightness, but it did not mention about the latest update since, it is a old one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/fix-real-brightness-fix-gs3-3-version-t1791163
I tried to enter some of the codes on the thread below, but it did not work either.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/samsung-galaxy-s3-codes-secrets-t2098642
So can Any one guide me or help me, on how to increase the brightness on my screen.
I KNOW TO GO INTO SETTINGS-->DEVICE -->DISPLAY-->BRIGHTNESS---> UNCHECK AUTOMATIC BRIGHTNESS AND INCREASE THE BRIGHTNESS LEVEL TO MAXIMUM.
I ALREADY DID THAT.
To be precise, editing the kernel and increasing the brightness - just like rooting. ( You can't root Your phone with a App or some setting.) obviously, You have to connect Your phone to Your computer and do some stuff. So, on those lines, can anyone guide me on how to increase the brightness??)
I'm searching and if someone gives me some useful info. it will be great.
Thank You.
Oh. By the way, The SCH-I535 is rooted

Looks like your on the 4.3 OTA based on the screenshot. Are you trying to create an easier way to adjust the brightness?
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. If you are on the 4.3 OTA then you won't be able to change anything about the kernel.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

Nothing of that sort. I just want to increase the screen brightness.
Just like for a Processor, which is actually locked, and by doing some changes/process/modifications, the speed of the processor can be increased by 10-15%,
similarly, I'm trying to increase the brightness of the display.

[Q&A] [KERNEL] [Bacon] [CM11s/CM11] Boeffla-Kernel 2.0 beta (22-10-2014)

Q&A for [KERNEL] [Bacon] [CM11s/CM11] Boeffla-Kernel 2.0 beta (22-10-2014)
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [KERNEL] [Bacon] [CM11s/CM11] Boeffla-Kernel 2.0 beta (22-10-2014). If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
current
Lord Boeffla, after connecting the phone to charge the app shows the current charge value that are constantly changing and never reach the limits set in the settings. Is it correct?
Hi,
yes, depending on current battery level this is about correct.
The charging follows a "curve", so depending on fill level the charge rate changes. It goes up in the beginning and when it reaches high values 80-100, the current goes down again more and more.
This is to ensure healthy and smooth loading for the battery.
Only for some times somewhere in the middle, the configured charge rate is about to be used.
And also only if your charger can provide this charge rate in a stable way.
This is why the charge rate always slightly changes as the charger logic is constantly checking all conditions during the process.
So far my observations (was the same on Galaxy S3 etc...)
Andi
Thanks for the explanation. But I thought that in S3 current has been always a constant throughout the entire charging process. At least, BoefflaConfig showed that way. And phone is charging really fast via the USB port. I Liked Boeffla for it.

Hehe, no.
When you have a close look even on the S3, when it reaches towards 95% battery fill level, the charge rate drops. At least I was seeing that.
But the curves of S3 are different to the OPO. With the OPO it reduces much more early.

Ok, I'm understand. And also small question: inactive red switches in BoefflaConfig means that these functions have been not yet implemented? In Boeffla Sound screen for example.

Yes, this is correct. In cm11s, deactivated switches are having red lines around (due to the hexo design).
Many switches, especially in Boeffla-Sound will unfortunately never be non-red, as many features cannot be implemented due to the different audio chip.
But yes, you are right: If something is deactivated in the app, it means the kernel does not have this specific functionality implemented.

Thank you for answers and sorry for stupid questions!) You are the best kernel developer! I very glad you came to the 1+1.
Hi,
When I flash Boeffla Kerner or Stock CM 11S 38R kernel from Franco Kernel r28, WiFi don't turn on, he stays "Activating". Any suggestion to fix the problem?
Regards.
Yes. Read through the main thread of my kernel.
Franco kernel hacks the wifi firmware of the rom. Which breaks other kernels incl stock kernel.
Either flash the firmware over again to correct it.
Or try my firmware restore zip I provide in my main thread for exactly this reason...
Andi
Thank you so much!
Man oh man! I always knew you add good taste lord Boeffla, it's good to experience your kernel after the S3, many good memories, I remember getting as much as 24000 score on antutu when the default was 19000,and all this while saving some battery, from what I,ve experienced it's good so far. If I would ask something it would be some underclocking features and hotplug set to only one core on just one of the governors in order to save battery, it would be perfect
Does this kernel support encrypted devices (in opposite to e.g. franco kernel)?
Thanks

Never tried that, so I do not know.
I have not taken anything out with regards to encryption, still I cannot be 100% sure on it before someone tests it.

Underclocking of CPU is of course in. Just lower the max CPU frequency.
GPU is now also reduced to a 27 MHz idle frequency with latest beta6.
And the hotplug stuff: Have a look at the hotplug profiles in beta6

Read that, when it works for them and I think you use the same ROM it should work for you to. BTW CM11 and CM11s are not the same so CM11s kernel is probably not working on a CM11 based ROM.

[Discussion] Bringing up the brightness by a kernel

Is it just possible that some kernel brings up maximum brightness?
Actually I think it is more than likely that HTC would have brought down maximum brightness mostly for battery savings.
Any thoughts about that?

Well I answer to my own question with this:

It seems that Kernel Adiutor offers this option. I will try when I root the phone.

[Solved] How to enable high brightness mode?

Is there something like a magisk module for that? I'm rooted on 9.0.4 8.1.0

There is one I found, but it's to fix adaptive brightness being too low:

Usually it's kernel based. Not sure about magisk. Lots of them support it but most of them need you to turn it on/off manually. I like elemental ex kernel because flar2 (the developer) provides a paid app that makes high brightness mode fully automatic. You can even Adjust the light threshold by which it comes on and off. I have it and love it on 9.0.5 oos. Worked for me rooted on 9.0.4 as well.
You can also buy high brightness mode for like $1 in the play store. If don't want to pay, custom ROMs, kernels or magisk modul.

Yeah I know about this app but does it work? Is it safe? A kernel seems like a better option.

I use the app, it works fine for me. You won't get a display as bright as the high end flagships like Samsung or Apple, but it definitely increases the brightness when you're outdoor

Apparently the app is developed by the guy who makes the ex kernel so I think I'm gonna use both. Thanks!
I have not received my ONEPLUS 6 yet.. so just curious if you all feel like Stock OnePlus brightness is decent in direct sunlight?

It's awful I cant see anything at direct sun light. For some reason it's a bit brighter on oreo.
