Hi Everybody!
Im hungarian man and sorry very small speak English. Google Translate helps me.
I have an HTC U11 Black Dual SIM CID34 (4/64) phone. I opened the bootloader and installed TWRP the phone is S-ON status.
Everything is fine so far.
I copy the ROM to SD card and start the phone Recovery mode.
I selected the ROM from this list:
Link: Removed by System
I wanted to install this ROM
2PZCIMG_OCEAN_DUGL_O80_SENSE90GP_MR_HTC_Europe_2.33.401.10_Radio_8998-002772-1711161638_release_signed.zip
Link: Removed by System
TWRP always writes in an invalid ZIP format.
Your phone is not loading Android now. It starts to load but stops at the boot screen. I can boot my phone into Bootloader, Recovery, Download mode.
Thank you for your help!
Please if you write simply to write or step by step how to fix the phone.
Best regards: Szabolcs

Try renaming the zip file to 2pzcimg.zip,, and place it on the root of your sdcard and boot into downloader mode. Hth, this looks to be an ruu so it will put your phone back to stock and wipe all but the sd card.

This is the description I read. Based on what I described, I got to the version change. The version change failed. But in another place I read that in Download mode you can easily reinstall the previous version.

If You want to downgrade from Pie to Oreo. Its pretty easy and simple you has to follow same steps like Oreo to nougat downgrade but with some modifications:- (bootloader unlock is required)
1. I tried it on my own device it worked and it is s-on, So i don't know it works on s-off or not.
2. Download HTC Dev info tool from the below link
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ubjDGNqCfIply-aRN8C7IQNb-YVkD4M7/view
3. Now connect your device to PC by turning on USB debugging in phone and open the info tool and click on GetDeviceInfo and it will show your device information in the tool.
4. If you want to change CID then follow this step otherwise skip to step 5. Change the CID to your desired CID and click on save.
5. Now change the misc version to the rom misc version which you downloaded for downgrade and click on save and apply changes.
6. Now download and install minimal adb and fastboot.exe in PC and open it and type "adb reboot download" and your phone boot to download mode and type "fastboot getvar all" and it will print your device information in the cmd itself and from their cross check your CID number whether it is changed to your required CID or not and also check the version number is blanked out or not. If it doesn't then something wrong you have done, so again start from step 2.
7. Download the Oreo RUU for your CID from the below link :-
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15JL3tRWDSVOUKo_revEYtQ_tRcOSJ0vWcvk8a7TK8Hk/edit?usp=sharing
8. Now Download BatchTool.exe from the provided link below
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67056758&postcount=4
9. Install the tool and and go to the location where you installed the tool generally it will be c:/Android/com now copy the RUU you downloaded for your CID to that folder and rename it to rom.zip for simplicity ie., c:/Android/com/rom.zip
10. Now Download RUU decrypt tool from the below link and extract the zip and drag and drop the rom.zip on to the RUU_decrypt_tool.exe present in the extracted folder.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=15338#downloads
11. And An CMD will pop-up and ask for some yes and no details just accept the default settings with out changing anything and now the RUU decryption will start and after completing a folder will be created in the RUU decrypt tool folder and inside OUT folder look for "hosd_signed.img" and move it to the rom.zip folder ie., c:/Android/com/hosd_signed.img
12. Now open cmd and navigate to the com folder by using by using cd command.
13. Now cross-check whether you are in bootloader mode or not, if yes then proceed to next step otherwise reboot your phone to bootloader mode by typing "htc_fastboot reboot bootloader" (htc_fasboot is a file present in com folder so you need to be in com folder to execute that commands from cmd).
14. Now type "htc_fastboot flash hosd hosd_signed.img" and wait for it to flash and after you see written successful then reboot to RUU mode by typing "htc_fastboot oem rebootRUU" l
15. On booting your phone to RUU mode type "htc_fastboot flash zip rom.zip" (rom.zip is file name of your RUU that you downloaded and renamed to rom.zip).
16. Now the flashing process should start and wait for some time until it finishes.
17. Now you have successful Downgraded from PIE to OREO with your desired CID..,.,.,.,.,:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Edited the post and forgot to add changing the version number check from step 2 again. If that too not work run this command "adb shell dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/misc bs=1 seek=2208 count=16" it will blank out misc version and follow the instructions i posted above.

did u try this exe?
http://dl.google.com/android/installer_r16-windows.exe
edit: what is the output of "adb devices"?
-Download this file, it has the adb and fastboot files needed to proceed
-Extract the file to "c:\" so that the path looks like this C:\android-tools
-Install HTCDriver (Fastboot drivers) (should already be installed from revolutionary) but here's the link again
-Open cmd and type "cd/"
-then type "cd android-tools"
*To test whether you have set up all the files correctly and your phone is connected correctly you can do the following;
*Plug your phone in (when plugging in select CHARGE ONLY (i.e. leave on the home screen)
*In cmd type "adb" and press enter, it should show a list of commands, then type "fastboot"and press enter, it should also show a list of commands)
*If both these commands work you have extracted the files to the right place and have setup cmd right.
*then type "adb devices"
*Should show connected phone serial if not then try get the latest HTCdrivers
Flash the ENG HBoot
To flash the ENG HBoot you can use one of these methods;
1) Fastboot
-Place the .img file (extracted from PG88IMG.zip) in C:\android-tools
-Boot phone into fastboot
-Run command "fastboot flash hboot engHBOOToverARX.img" in CMD
2) Android Flasher
-Download from here
-Select phone, select Hboot .img (bootloader)
-Boot phone into fastboot and select FLASH
3) Updater file (PG88IMG.zip)
-Download the PG88IMG.zip (make sure is called that EXACTLY, not pg88img.zip or PG88IMG.zip.zip)
-Place file on your SD card root, and boot into HBoot, and follow onscreen instructions
4) adb shell (LAST LAST resort, one typo and you can brick your phone, do some reserch before doing it
-Place the hboot on your SD card and remane it to "hboot.img"
-Boot into recovery
-adb devices - Must show your serial
-adb shell
-su (it should show #, that means you have the right permission, if it shows $ afterwards you dont have permission)
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 of=/sdcard/backup.img (backup your current hboot)
dd if=/sdcard/hboot.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 (flashes new hboot)

Install the RUU
How to check if downloaded RUU is compatible with your phone:
To avoid errors etc, you need to confirm your phone is unbranded, i.e. check if your CID matches the CID check list in the RUU you downloaded.
To do this Run the installer, then go to your Windows Temp Folder, sort the folder by date and pick the folder with the latest date, and locate the rom.zip file inside, open it up and open the android-info.txt file. Your CID should be in the list, if not then you need to create a GoldCardto install that RUU.
Here is a list of RUU's you can download for your phone [ROM]Shipped Desire S ROM Collection - xda-developers
Here and here are two great threads for HTC Desire S Guides

Not sure of the command right now, Google it, like how to check you cId, then when you run the RUU go to your temp folder, I think there is a file called android.txt in the folder with the rom.zip is and it has the list.

Your posts are borderline spam at this point.
The only reason you are linking that thread, which has absolutely nothing to do with the op's issue whatsoever, is because that thread links to your thread.
You are again suggesting your 3.12 firmware hack, but this time to someone running a GB rom! Your suggestion will guarentee to bootloop his phone and possibly much worse since he would be mixing GB firmware with ICS firmware! You have done zero testing on that and have no idea how it will react.
Mixing firmwares of completely different versions is VERY risky.
Stop suggestion that people do untested firmware meddling!
Its to the point where you are suggesting this as a fix to everyone with any problem on any rom!

A little clarification.
Dont unpack the zip file so you would need to rezip it. Just open it.
And this way is great because it updates your firmware and rom in 1 easy step. So you will have a completely working ics rom in about 10 minutes.
But you can also just flash the 3.32 furmware you need for ics using a pm58img file preloaded with 4ext recovery, the flash the custom rom of your choice.
But if you do that, make sure to have the custom rom on the sd card first so you will have something to flash. Your old gb rom will not open on the new firmware so tge phone wont be usable right away.
In any case dont sweat it. Switching to ics is twice as easy as it was to root the phone initially.

SuperCID is done through fast boot, not with a download.

Hello,
When I am using the command "fastboot oem writecid 11111111" it just says waiting for device.
Thanks
Unlocking the Bootloader is Required! This will erase all data and void your warranty!
Since all data will be wiped it's best to do this immediately after getting the phone. At least unlocking the bootloader.
I won't add a disclaimer, because if you trust some guide from some guy on the internet you should know what that means without being told explicitly.
For me the bootimage method posted on Modaco does not work and apparently others seem to have trouble as well (see the poll at Modaco). And since I couldn't find any guide here on XDA I thought I'd write one. XDA helped me a lot when I got my DHD, so maybe now I can help back.
This is based on soyd's guide at swedroid.se which I used to finally get my phone rooted after some unsuccessful attempts.
The guide is for Windows, but could probably be easily adapted to Linux/Mac by using the appropriate drivers/tools. I followed these steps to successfully root my Moto G (16 GB, german retail, Android 4.4.2, OTA 176.44.1).
Here're the neccessary steps:
Install Motorola and ADB Drivers
Unlock Bootloader
Flash Recovery
Flash SuperSU
Enjoy
Install Motorola and ADB Drivers
Do not connect your phone to your PC just yet.
If you already have ADB drivers and Motorola drivers installed, just skip this step.
Download these files:
Motorola Drivers
ADB Tools (thx to androidpit.info)
mfastboot.exe (only download that file from the G-Drive folder - thx to whoever uploaded it)
Run the MotorolaDeviceManager_2.4.5.exe you just downloaded and install it
Extract the two folders from adb-tools_treiber.zip
Open ADB-Treiber folder and run UniversalAdbDriverSetup.msi
Copy mfastboot.exe to ADB-Tools folder
Now this next part might be optional, but some things might not work without it and there's no real harm so:
Enable USB-Debugging
On your phone, open Preferences
Scroll all the way down to About this phone
Scroll all the way down to Build-Number
Tap 7 times on that entry
You'll get a message "You're a developer now"
Go back and open the new item Developer options
Check USB-Debugging
Connect your phone to the PC
Drivers will be installed and the phone will ask you to confirm USB debugging from that computer
Unlock Bootloader
There are probably lots of guides around, but to have it all in one place, here's yet another one:
!YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR WARRANTY AND ALL DATA BY UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER!
Switch off your phone
Hold Volume-Down and press and release Power to boot into Fastboot
A text screen should appear
Connect the phone via USB to the PC
Open a command prompt and browse to the ADB-tools folder you just created
Type:
Code:
fastboot oem get_unlock_data
You'll get five lines of characters, all beginning with (bootloader):
Code:
(bootloader) 0A40040192024205#4C4D3556313230
(bootloader) 30373731363031303332323239#BD00
(bootloader) 8A672BA4746C2CE02328A2AC0C39F95
(bootloader) 1A3E5#1F53280002000000000000000
(bootloader) 0000000
Copy all lines into one long string without the (bootloader) part!
You want something like 0A40040192024205#4C4D355631323030373731363031303332323239#BD00 and so on.
Open Motorola Unlocker Site (you need to sign-in)
Copy the string in the box at 6. and press Can my device be unlocked?
A Request my Unlock Key button should appear. Check I Agree to the legal stuff and press that button
Check your mail for the unlock key
In the ADB-tools folder type:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock [I]paste_your_key_here[/I]
The phone should reboot and greet you with a nice warning about you having lost your warranty.
Flash Recovery
Now that the booloader is unlocked you have to flash a custom recovery to be able to flash SuperSU.
Download the CWM image from this post. The file should be named something like recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.7-falcon.img. Copy the file to the ADB-Tools folder you created earlier and rename it to CWM.img
Your phone should still be connected to your PC and have finished rebooting and be in stock ROM.
In the ADB-Tools folder type:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
The phone should reboot and the bootloader will come up again
To make sure all's working as expected type:
Code:
fastboot devices
You should get a response similar to:
Code:
List of devices attached
TA93005M6V device
To flash the custom recovery, type:
Code:
mfastboot flash recovery CWM.img
On the phone you might get a message about size mismatch, just ignore it. Now you have to enter the newly flashed CWM recovery. Take your phone and:
Press Volume-Down to scroll to the Recovery menu item
Press Volume-Up to select that item (yes, Vol-Up selects)
The phone will boot into recovery
Now is a good time to backup your system.
Press Volume-Down to scroll to Backup and Restore
Press Power to select that item
Press Volume-Down to scroll to Backup to /sdcard
Press Power to select that item
Backup will commence, once it's finished go back to the main menu and select Reboot, then confirm with YES
You phone will reboot into the stock ROM.
Flash SuperSU
Now you can finally flash SuperSU and be done with the whole business.
Download the newest SuperSU and save the file to your phone's SD-Card's root directory. The phone should show up as an MTP device in Windows file explorer.
In ADB-Tools folder type:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
The phone will reboot and once CWM Recovery has come up, use the Vol-Up/Down keys to scroll and Power to select
Select Install zip
Select zip from /sdcard
Select /0
You should find a file like UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip there.
Select that file, confirm YES and wait for the flashing to finish
Go back to the Main menu and select Reboot, confirm YES
The phone should once again reboot into normal stock ROM operation. To check if all went well, open the app drawer, tap on SuperSU and if no error message comes up... You're done!

I had the same problem at first. When you copy and paste the code on the website it put spaces between the code. There cant be any spaces then it will work. Hoped this helps XD
Thanks
Great guide, I used it to root my Moto G I got today but I had problems with flashing the Clockworld recovery. It simply would not work, said error. But I tried TWRP and it worked. But I also named it recovery.img and used your command but replaced CVM.img with recovery.img. Got rid of ALL of the bloatware. I was stuck at first because I didn't start the command promt inside of the adb tools folder.
Recovery issue
Guys I had a similar issue while flashing the cwm.
When I flash it in the first boot it works, I can enter in the interface and can create a backup or flash one, but after a reboot it do not enter again. I tried entering via fastboot -> Recovery and received the dead android icon with the "No command" message.
Tried installing via PlayStore and had the same result, even with the TWRP.
Any ideas ?

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ROOTING AND UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER:
After flashing TWRP 3.0.2, use the SuperSU 2.46 flashable zip, do NOT use latest version or will result in a bootloop. Good Luck and have fun with rooting. Unlocking bootloader will delete all your data, so please make a backup first. Thank you.

CREDITS
And also, before anything i would like to say thanks to @arjaylzo for telling me the name of a device with TWRP which helped making this update possible.
REQUIREMENTS
1- Fastboot/ADB Drivers and ADB folder
For drivers: http://adbdriver.com - Download ADB Driver Installer (universal) from the website, extract it, connect device it should detect device(if not, enable USB Debugging and reconnect), and press install, it should install drivers.
For ADB Folder: download this and extract to your main drive(C:/): https://goo.gl/ZTrfBb
2- Unlocked Bootloader (you need requirement 1 to do this)
Instructions for Unlocking bootloader: Go on settings, about device, press build version several times till it says your a developer, go back to settings, press Developer Options, and enable OEM Unlocking. New TWRP bugfix update! Now you can flash stock rom on TWRP without bricking! Download Page updated!
----------- -----------
BUGS:
1- adb shell command needs to be sent before system partition is mounted or it will give an error, after doing adb shell you can mount system and do all the modifications you need.
2- You cant flash any img on twrp it gives an error, im trying to fix.
3- Backups do work, but everytime twrp restarts, the device name seems to change (which means that on /TWRP/BACKUPS/devicename/backupsinside/ changes every reboot so you have to go get the backup inside the old devicename folder and put on the new devicename folder).
----------- ADITIONAL NOTES -----------
Im leaving an unsecured boot image because system seems not want to boot android if anything seems changed. So please if system does not boot after flashing twrp/rooting, flash the unsecured boot img on fastboot
----------- -----------
Steps TO INSTALL TWRP AND ROOT
1. Download and extract the files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxzG5iupOOSKNTdlRC1Wd0VmTlk/view?usp=drivesdk
2. Power off the tablet.

On step 4 You need the fastboot files, (adb & fastboot) just search how to install adb and fastboot drivers, choose the directory where to install them and place the needed files inside that folder and open a command prompt on that folder so you can flash the files.

That means adb drivers arent corrently installed, but i can see you have the folder with adb, all you have to now is download this(drivers): http://dl.adbdriver.com/upload/adbdriver.zip
Extract and open the software eith the tablet plugged in, it should tell of drivers is installer properly or not, and if not you can install, after installing it should work on the cmd the commands..

ok i can try to do it,but....
1.is it safe?
2.where can I find boot.img
3.is there a guide?
As i said i don't know if this is a generic boot.img or if it is or if it is brand or firmware specific you would need to do a bit of investigating to find out, What i can tell you is that this patch contain's supersu with a drm key fix(you know the key's stored in your bootloader) incorporated in it i have successfully used it on a sony m5(e5603).
The choice is your's whether to try it or not.
If you choose to use it here is a quick guide..
1.Download this file here
2.connect your phone to your pc make sure usb debugging is swiched on
3.put the boot.img file into the same folder as your adb and fastboot.exe files are
4.Rename it to boot.img to simplify thing's
5.Right click on an empty space inside your adb fastboot folder and select open command window here
6.When your command window opens input this command adb devices you should now see your phone's serial number
7.Once your phone is connected in command prompt write adb reboot bootloader
8.Once your phone is in bootloader mode then in command prompt write fastboot devices you should now see your device serial number
9.In command prompt write this command fastboot flash boot boot.img then press return and wait till process finishes (any problem's remember to rename the .img file to boot.img or alter the command in command prompt)
10.In command prompt write this command fastboot reboot ( or just restart your phone normally)
If successful when your phone has started you should now have the supersu app installed and phone rooted with the drm key's fix working(if you saved your drm key's before unlocking your bootloader you can safely copy them back at this point)
Obviously i can't be held responsible for any damage done Yahda,Yahda,Yada ect.
Make sure OEM unlock is at the switched on position before the next reboot (it should already be switched on)

I tried this method but it did not work, fortunately I had the file boot.img stock and I restored it, thanks anyway for the guide at this point I'll wait to find the twrp file edited for my device or that will add the root on some kind of apps (kingoroot, kingroot, oniclick ....)
