answering calls? - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

So I have the T-Mobile variant of this device, and for the life of me I can't swipe up, down, left, right to answer incoming calls. Maybe I'm doing something by mistake? I do have the screen reader and used, but that shouldn't have any impact on it. It says two-finger swipe up to answer, but I could never get that to work. Is it swipe, or can I simply tap the icon to answer incoming calls.

Active screen when answering incoming call

Hi guys,
Situation is this… when a call comes in, the phone wakes up and the display is active to either answer or reject… but the problem is if the phone is in my pocket or shirt and I’m moving around or don’t hear it, the friction of the clothing will answer or reject it for me without me knowing…
Question: is there a way to deactivate the touch screen when a call comes in so I only use the hard buttons to answer or reject the incoming calls? When I say deactivate the touch screen, I still want to see the screen for the call display and stuff and not have it blank or black.
Any solutions to this? Thanks everyone.

This has been discussed in many other threads. This is the one I'd get, but you can look for other options.

there is also a slide to unlock (similar to iphone), but i'm not sure if this actually locks the "Call" key at the bottom

s2u2 does not lock the hardware buttons. I haven't had any problems with pressing the hardware buttons while the phone is in the pocket so I think that shouldn't be a problem.

Disable notifications while on phone call

When I am on a phone call my ear hits the notification bar and because I am holding the phone the way that I am the screen orients for landscape. When I finish the call I have to chase the "Close" button from the left edge to the bottom (because I have now moved the phone back to portrait position), or tap the bottom of the phone to get the screen to re-orienate so I can close "Notifications" before I hit "End" to end the call. I like having the ability to tap and get notifications but I hate that when on a call I initiate it. Is there a way to make the notifications bar inactive when I am on a call? Now that I think about it...I use Co0kies Home Tabs so I actually get my notifications there. Maybe there is a way to turn of notifications all together? I realize there is probably already another thread for that and since I would prefer to have both I'll stick with my original thought.

Slide to answer

I went over Market and internet search...
I am looking for side slider, something like Widget Locker, but for answer/reject call. Also for end call... The reason is, because it easy to push on screen button, then still easy to slide up/down. Side slide is at most hard to slide.
I use to start new call, after old call is finished by person on other side. After call phone throws me to dialer, while I was going to push End call button, suddenly it changes to Call button and I did call - last call - It works on htc senese caller like that. I had to replace it with go dialer which does not behave like that (First I have to push who am I going to call, then call button will call). But, I like HTC sense more, also, GO dialer is a bit slow on my HTC Desire phone.
So I am looking for slider solution, to put control elsewhere and make it hard to use it accidentally.
Wold be GRAT if combine apps functionality like Caller ID and Widget Locker. And truly replace, or at least put beside original caller. If I use Caller ID, I still see original caller to blink over.. and If I am fast on my phone, with combination of GO dialer, my phone use to go crazy during call, until call is finished...
But my point is side slider as caller.
Once I had to try dGB ROM, and, i think, there was something like this, or it was only lock slider? ... I am not sure I don't remember.

Use your voice to answer call

Can't seem to where to access this feature. When someone calls, I want to be able to answer the call without touching the phone. Is there a way to enable this feature?
Open the phone dialer app. Then press more in the top right corner of screen. Then hit settings and that should open up the phone answering settings, you want to press answering and ending call to turn on the feature.

Where is the MUTE for background noise on call? Where is speaker for call?

I just purchased a OnePlus6 and so far so good. Have two questions.
1) How to mute my side of a call so others on the call do not hear my dogs barking in the background? I can find the notification alert slider button but that is not what I want to do.
2) How do I put a call on speaker so I can just hold the phone and not use ear buds or hold the phone to my ear?

Make a call and you are presented with the options as per screenshot.
How can you seriously not find these settings when they are clearly on the call screen?
@dgunn you don't have to be mean, I was also perplexed after calling a conference call number and entering my code. The keypad covered half the screen and hid those settings that are supposedly "clearly" on the screen. Dismissing the keypad by tapping the "x" on the top right side made it go away and the settings appeared again.

It's not mean when there is a screenshot that clearly shows the mute button. Perhaps if he had mentioned the keyboard covering half of the screen and or provided a screenshot of this doing so he would have gotten a different answer.
