Had an issue with the App Store. Apparently, Google thinks my storage is full and it's making me remove every app each time yet there is not still enough storage to install a new app.
How can I get this fixed?

I have an old HTC Desire, which I've rooted and installed Cyanogenmod 7.2.0.1-bravo. It works fine, but I'm running out of space in the onboard memory.
Is there any way to prevent Google Market updating to Google Play? This takes 9Mb of space on my phone, and is preventing me from updating any of the apps I have installed. When I am alerted to the fact that there are app updates, I go to the market app and this then updates automatically to Google Play, taking 9Mb of space and preventing me from updating any of the other apps. I'm not interested in updating to Google Play, I just want to be able to update the applications I've already bought.
I've tried freezing the market updater using Titanium, and also the command "pm disable com.android.vending.updater" under su in the terminator emulator. Neither seems to work.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Will the play store and play services work if I sideload them as user apps?
I currently have them as system and they are constantly running in the background and use battery and overheat the phone.:crying:
Will this behaviour top after I turn them into user apps?

Don't attempt to move google playstore or google play services as it might become a serious trouble. If I were you I'll use DU Speed Booster or SD Maid to stop apps from running at boot and save battery.
Never underestimate a kid whose poor in cash but rich in time.

Your suggested methods will fail because even if i stop them at boot they restart afterwards
But if I install them as user apps will they work?
Moving them will not make the system unstable,I suppose ;but the apps should run
I installed the play store and play services user
Then i opened the play store and it closed without any mesage of FC or anything
then i tried the play services i.e. the google settings app and it worked
Can anyone tell me whats going on with play store and why it closes
Anyone who is willing to try this and develop a solution?

Install the playstore to System again. Google playstore needs access to system in order to work properly.

May be we will convert this to development thread.
We"ll try to make play store run as user app
or atleast find the reason why that wont work
:silly:

try to greenified it..
to do that download and install greenify in the google play store.. for free
what it does it hibernate a app that prevents suddenly unexpected background processes that eat battery. If you open a greenified app it will work normally ..

Hey everyone,
Title says it all really over the past few days over several devices and different users in my household we have noticed that Google play store isn't working properly, we are receiving errors, connections issues and general problems overall.
I contacted Google who didn't do much in all honesty and they advised me to clear the cache for the app on my phone and clear data on both app and googleplay services, which I have done but since doing so my okay store loads but I get the error message check you connection and try again.
I have reinstalled the app using the apk on here and still the same problem.
I'm not to worried about it as I'm pretty sure the problem lies with Google especially since its happening in several device (using different accounts and same accounts)
Is there a fix for this or is it Google causing the fault as I have searched the net and found people with similar issues. (isitdownrightnow.com)
Many thanks
Azel

Got this one solved for you mate, had the same problem.......... All to do with automatic time and date being out of sync with the play store. Go to time and date settings disable the automatic time zone and automatic time and date. change the date manually to say....the same date but 2013. go back to home, then go back to date and time settings, enable both time zone and time & date auto's, and hey presto........play store's back to normal.
happy days
What do you mean when you say "not working"? Do you get an error message? Does it simply crash/force close?
Did you do something to the devices between the Play Store working and not working? Did you change your internet setup somehow? Did you move to a different country? Did you start worshiping Lord Xenu?
Play Store needs to be a system app. You say you reinstalled it, so I'll assume your devices have root. When you sideload an app it installs as a "user" app. Play Store needs to be a system app. Use whatever app you used to uninstall it to change it to a system app (most root apps that can uninstall system apps have this feature...if what you used doesn't, you can find ones that will, some free). If this isn't the cause of your problem, we'll need more info to help you.

See comment above man........it's related to date & time sync. Easily sorted

Azel.
(high fives all round)
I tried running my phone without GApps but very quickly realised that I needed access to Google Play.
There are ways to download apks from the Play store without an account but then you never get any updates.
I am not philosophically opposed to the Google services but I am trying to reduce the number of background apps running.
Is there a way to freeze and only turn on Google Play services when opening the Play store and once a week to check for updates?
If your phone is rooted go for "greenify" i guess.
That helped my search.
I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552570
Thanks!
Hello, I have Asus Zenfone Max M1 (X00PD) with stock ROM (Android 8.0).
I have nearly 50% space on my internal storage as well as external (Screenshot-1). However every now and then when I try to update apps, Google Play throws error saying I don't have enough storage and I need to delete some apps (Screenshot-2). If I just close Google Play and come back after few minutes and update apps, they update fine, which means I indeed have enough space. Sometimes I force-close and clear the cache of Play Store and that seems to work too. So it's not the end of the world and I can keep doing this but it is annoying as f**k. The error keeps coming back.
I have tried booting into recovery and cleaning the cache partition. That made no difference. I also ran the built-in Mobile Manager to clear cache but that has also made no difference.
Anyone has any idea what might be causing this?
Uninstall the Google Play Store app - it's updates - what internally doesn't completely uninstall it but revert it back to it's stock version.
