I have htc u11 plus European Variant. It was working quiet fine before android Pie update. But after android Pie Update, it is having problem with connecting to PC, OTG for file transfer. I am able to connect it with pc via USB cable but for almost 1 minute only. after 1 minute, the device gets disconnected automatically. There is no solution for this on internet as the issue seems to be newest one. Kindly help me get out of the issue.

Hello everyone.
I am having issues with my Note being detected by my PC, I have installed Kies 3 and when the Note is connected the connection process starts but fails ( I tried using camera mode instead of MTP and Kies says It must be MTP so something is connecting), Also the device is detected in the device manager of the PC and the Note itself says its connected by USB 3.0.
I have updated, un-installed re-installed, all the drivers and Kies. I have also used a standar USB 2 cable and most of the ports on my PC.
Does anyone know what's going on? could it be a USB 3 issue with Windows?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Gav
I've been having consistent issues connecting with the tablet through adb, on both linux (2 separate installs), and windows 8.1. Sometimes it just will not detect it. It gets detected as mtp storage fine, but adb devices returns nothing. Ill triple check all the relevant settings, make sure the computer has been authorized by the tablet etc. It will literally work just fine, and then 10 minutes later without even disconnecting the cable to using the tablet, it will no longer be detectable by adb.
I'm hoping it's just bugs in the release firmware that haven't been ironed out yet, and will disappear with future upgrades or with the flashing of a custom rom.
I've also had it refuse to charge through my laptops USB ports, even the special "faster charging" port.
It turns out my issue was the unit itself I took it back to JB-HiFi and the staff checked it out and it wouldn't connect to any of their PCs, we tried the Demo unit and it worked fine, So i exchanged it and it works perfectly..
Thanks for your reply though
Cheers

So, a month or so ago I updated my phone to L without a hitch. This morning, I tried to begin moving to M, but I can't get my computer to recognize that the phone is connected to a USB port.
I'm running the latest Win 7 Pro build (current patches), I've tried using every USB port on the box, and I've tried four different cables. The Nexus will charge off the USB, but the PC will not connect to it, so I can't perform any of the flashing commands. Dev options are set on the phone, ofc.
Any idea what the problem might be? I've had this same computer since the phone came out and, as I mentioned, I just used it a month ago to update the phone. No clue why the computer won't see the phone as connected.
I should note that I can't get the Device Manager to see anything connected, either, so it's not trying to update drivers or anything. Besides, I believe those are current, since everything worked a month ago.
Thanks.
MSFT issued a bunch of security patches on 10 NOV. I wonder if that screwed up something? Is anyone else having issues with Windows recognizing that the phone is connected? Neither MTP nor PTP storage mode makes a difference.
FYI, looks like the culprit. I rolled back all the system updates and now the phone is recognized. Now I just have to go one-by-one and figure out which one broke ADB...
Hello this question is only for users who are familiar with PDAnet and usb tethering.
Problem #1: The latest version of PDAnet flat out does not work. After installing the latest version (version 4.19) on both my phone and computer, connecting the phone via USB to my Windows PC, and clicking the PDAnet icon in the taskbar and clicking connect to internet, the connection appears to connect momentarily and then immediately disconnects. I have tried reinstalling legacy network drivers, reinstalling PDA to phone from the PC, restarting the PC and the phone etc etc. Nothing worked.
My workaround was to install the older 4.12 version to the phone (a Samsung Galaxy S4) and PC. Using this older version worked somewhat ok, but did occasionally drop the connection when downloading large files. Speeds averaged around 15-25 mbps.
Problem #2: My workaround is no longer working after I upgraded to a new phone, a Galaxy S7. (Yes I did try using version 4.19 of the App with the new phone; same problem still). Using 4.12 barely works at all. If I use a speedtest on my phone separately, unplugged, I get 60 mbps using the fast.com speed test. As soon as I plug it into my PC and enable USB mode, the speed test goes down to <<1mbps. Something has happened.
I need your help. Please tell me how I can get the full speed that I was getting before.
Please be aware that due to my carrier (Verizon) I cannot use the wifi hotspot. It must be USB.
First of alli beg your pardon for my English.
I have a Xperia Z5 (E6683) about 6 months ago and everything worked normally until I upgrade to Android 7.1.1.
My cell phone does not recognize that it is plugged into the charger or the PC.
- Restore factory settings.
- Reinstalled Android.
- Installed Android 6.0, 6.0.1 and 7.0.
- PC Companion
When I finish installing any version of Android, the USB connection of the cell phone works normally. I can recharge, transfer files ... After 1 or 2 days the USB simply stops working or if I reboot the phone the USB also stops.
I tried Android 5.1.1 and the usb works to load, but not to transfer files. If I restart the smartphone connected to the pc it recognizes that it is connected, but I can not recharge.
Apparently it's not a physical flaw, it seems more of a logical thing, since it works normally when I finish installing Android. It seems that some internal Android process causes the defect to appear.
I've been researching for almost a month, but I do not think anything like it, has anyone ever seen this kind of defect? Would anyone know how I can solve or indicate some place where I can search for a solution?
Thank you.
Hi.
I've checked 3 pcs of Mi TV stick - each time after updating to latest update the stick is turning on by itself in 20 seconds after turning off by remote.
The new piece from box before update is ok, after installing latest update same issue. Does Xiaomi knows some solution to this bug?

I have the same problem bro. Still not found the solution.
I got the solution - at least that worked for me. The problem was with charging adapter from xiaomi phone. When stick was charged from PC USB slot then no problem with turning on by itself. It seems those sticks need power from low voltage sources like PC USB or TV USB (that I didnt check). Try it.
In my case there is no difference. TV Stick turning on by itself no matter if it was in TV USB, PC USB or plugged in charged which came in package.
It was my 2nd TV Stick because 1st was sended back because of classic problem with remote - losing connection and you need to unplug the device.
Unfortunately I have same issue with latest PI.1727. It's not able to stay in standby. On my side I'm sure it's a reason of updated hdmi-cec code. Once upon a time I was able to shutdown both tv and stick with a single button click. It's a dream now. I wish we were able to downgrade firmware.
Same issue on brand new Mi TV Stick updated to PI.1727. It wakes up with no reason.
Same issue here. I can shutdown MiStick + Tv, but I can't turn on both devices from remote using HDMI-CEC.
And both devices turn on automatically every day at same hour.
