I could have sworn the file to adjust form 80 to 90 value was mixer_paths.xml but maybe that was android 7? I saw the post to adjust the other value from 0 to 7 but don't think I did that before.

Added In-Call Volume and Ring volume

Sorry if this has already been posted but there are a couple of things that are worth outlining to most users.. for example there are registry entries that allow you to change the volume and increase it significantly beyond windows actually supports and there are various other edits.. but one edit i really would like is to disable the Incoming Call Bubble..(haven't found a solution for it yet) but i thought i'd just provide everyone else with what i've found so far. (I take no credit for these registry edits)
Volume Edits
HKCU\ControlPanel\Volume\
DWORD - Ringer
(HEX)Increase it to 0x#<change it to 5 or higher> to increase it to its maximum volume. - Only tested on the Atom Life
(DEC)Increase it to over 5 to increase the volume
DWORD - Volume
Same as Ringer DWORD
In Call Edits
REMOVE SOUNDS WHEN ADJUSTING VOLUME INCALL
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\StandardIncallVolume
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\QuietestIncallVolume
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\LoudestIncallVolume
STRING - Script
Remove the 'p' in the script strings to remove the noises while in a call. This makes the volume increase smoother and removes the annoying noises.
INCREASE INCALL VOLUME
HKCU\Control Panel\SoundCategories\InCall
DWORD - InitVol
Defaults to around 2 - 5, Increase this to 5 or Higher
Ringtone Edits
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\Ringtone0
STRING - Script
RINGTONE VOLUME
HKCU\Control Panel\SoundCategories\Ring
DWORD - InitVol
Defaults to around 2 - 5, Increase this to 5 or Higher
Notifications Edits
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications
This works for any Script DWORDs in most if not all of those strings.
EG. To Show the icon on the taskbar, vibrate and play the sound selected
Reg: HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Phone\Options
HEX Value - 0x3
DEC Value - 3

What should I edit to increase the system sound volume (i.e the volume of music playing)
Also, please tell me how much to increase so that I do NOT damage my device in any case.
Thanks
Hope this can go in the guides thread.

I read the guide, but there's a confusion.
What should I modify to increase the volume of the music playing, and also by what value should I increase so as NOT to damage the device.
THanks

Okay essentially, you open the registry editor on your phone and then make your way to the Volume String. from there you'll see a number of DWORDS and what not. Select Volume and edit the value. Change it to something like 5 or higher than the value that was already there. Soft reset after that
Alternatively you can install the SRS WOW HD driver if your phone supports it (most phones do). Download it Here
ok, the guide was moved to the GUIDES thread... post 25.
Reading on Internet, I found that modifiying the mixer_paths.xml file, it's possible to increase volume on headphones. The problem is that I don't know what values modify. I'll appreciate that someone help me.

"To change the Headphone volume:
Find: <path name="headphones"> Look for these strings below it:
"HPHL Volume" value="15"
"HPHR Volume" value="15"
Again all we are changing is the values (ensure both are set at the same number).
For the mod above, I changed the values to "20". The default values are "15" and I would suggest not to go over "20"."
This is for the Nexus 5 but I suppose its the same process but I wouldn't recommend to do that I suggest you to buy a DAC/AMP, because when you mod the file you can potentially reduce quality, and could damage your ears by doing that.
Hey guys, I just flashed my first custom rom on s6, and I was wondering how could I increase headphone sound level? On my old phone all I had to do was change some values in default_gain.conf (or smth like that, havent done it in a while). Maybe there are just some flashable mods, that would increase sound and maybe quality? Thanks in advance.
Edit /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml, look for "gain-media-headset" and adjust the gains for both left and right. I recommend a value of 130 from the 113 default, it's plenty loud.
No need to mess with files. Follow this

Hi all.
I'm using CM13 SultanXDA ROM (latest build).
The in-call volume is low and I can barely hear the other side. What should I edit in mixer_path.xml file, or any other file to increase the volume?
Thanks!
Edit the file in /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml
Around the line 571 you will find
Code:
<!-- Analog output devices -->
<path name="ear">
you are in the right section, so in the same section around the line 576 you will find:
Code:
<ctl name="RX1 Digital Volume" value="84">
Change the value (84) to an higher number I tried 100 and it's very loud, It think 92/95 could be enough.
Thanks.
I now seem to be having another issue.
When on speaker mode, the other side cannot hear me... WTF?
Oh, that never happened to me.
Did you change the fluence type to "none"in build.prop?
yes I did.
not really helpful
After installing LineageOS 18.1, the mic gain is so low that the recorded sound is too low, and the sensitivity don't seem to be working well. It's significantly less than the stock rom.
I tried changing the ADC values from 6 to 12 in the mixer path xml file, but doesn't seem to change anything. I've attached the xml file.
Could anyone help fixing the mic gain and sensitivity?
