[HELP] Pin not accepted on boot - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

So, i wiped the cache of my phone and when i tried to restart it, the password required on boot was "invalid". I am sure it is the correct password, as i am using it for many months. I tried many other passwords, and none of them worked. I also tried hard resetting from recovery to reset all the passwords but it still requires the password to boot. What can i do to recover my phone?

[Q] LeeDroid 3.0.6-R2 Exchange Pin Code policy problem

Hi,
I have for the first time rooted my HTC Desire. And for the first time also just installed a ROM, LeeDroid 3.0.6-R2. Everything works fine, so I think, but one thing.
I've set up my Exchange account to my work and entered a new pin code. The pin code works every time when the phone locks and I need to enter the pin to unlock it. But as soon as I go into Clockwork Recovery mode and then do nothing but restart the phone, it doesn't accept my pin code. After 8 failed attempts it wipes my phone automatically.
When it happened the first time I thought I messed up with the pin code. So I wiped the phone and started over (not reflashing the ROM), setting up Exchange with the same pin code. But it didn't accept the one I used previously. So I choose a new one, simple, 0000. Tried several times to unlock with the pin after the phone had locked. Then just now I rebooted again with Clockwork Recovery and just restarted the phone and it again won't accept my pin code.
I don't want to disable the policy and not have a pin code via some app.
Has anyone had this issue before? It's like my pin code isn't saved once I go into Recovery mode. But it still enforced the policy.
This will be the 4th time I have to wipe my phone and start over -.-
TIA
Ok, so I tried after my last wipe last night to not configure Activesync and just go into security and set a regular pin. Let the phone lock, worked. Restart phone into recovery, restart again. Doesn't work.
So I think I've managed to solve the issue. Reboot the phone completely (not into recovery) after I've set the pin code. Try to see if it works, which it did, then boot into recovery and again reboot to normal. Pin code still works. Odd....
Sigh.....nope. Still the same problem when I rebooted the phone. I still need help :'(
Someone must have some ideas?
Bumping. Halp!

[Q] Blu Life 8 Password Problem

I installed a new sim card in my phone and when I rebooted the password didn't work. I tried removing the new sim card and putting in the old one, restarting the device, Google's device manager to lock and put on a new password, and hard resetting. Nothing has worked, the password remains and won't accept the right answer nor any of the Google lockout passwords. any ideas?

Click to collapse
no one has any ideas? Just a note I don't have USB debugging enabled so ADB commands won't work and the factory reset has done anything.

can't decrypt the phone

Hi,
I had exchange instalation that required encryption.
after upgrading to Lollipop the device is no longer rooted, and to root it I have to enter recovery.
I can't enter recovery because the phone is encrypted.
so.. I removed the exchange, I removed it's manager authorisation also, and tried a hard reset via the menu + delete the data (that should remove encryption).
the reset didn't succeed. it derives to a bootloop with the first pic after restart.
also 3 bottoms hard reset didn't succeed.
any advice?
thx,
Moshe

No access to encrypted /data after reboot with other SIM

Hi,
if anyone could help with any suggestions with the following situation I'd be more than grateful...:
My S10e is running LineageOS 19.1, rooted with Lygisk.
I rebooted it several times with different SIM cards, no problems.
After one specific reboot, it entered a boot loop where it shows the Lineage boot animation for a few minutes, then reboots.
I never get to the unlock screen anymore.
After several attempts of reinstalling bootloader etc. as well as dirty flashing Lineage, the phone boots but I don't get access to data.
The partition is accessible but all files/folders are encrypted. I did define the same lock pattern as previously.
So, my question is: can I in some way bring the phone's software to exactly the same state as before and making it recognise data, so that I can decrypt it? The lock pattern is known and the same as before.
I'm a bit desperate as there is some important data on it that is just newer than the most recent backup....
Thanks for any hints!
