So I have a question... On op7pro using latest smurf kernel and 7.7 no limits and I'm using a live wallpaper from maxelus demon or AMOLED live wallpaper and even with it set to not optimize battery it freezes every time I turn the screen off so it takes a second or two to start being live again whenever I turn on the screen. Also I have a weather widget that is supposed to update every 30mins that is set to not optimize battery that will not update till I open the app.... Any idea what's going on here?

So, I have been running Beautiful Widgets on my MyTouch 3G 1.2 with Cyanogen Mod 5.0.8-t1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=673394). So far I love the way that the widget looks, but I have been having an issue with it. I have noticed it a few times where when Beautiful Widgets updates the weather based on my current location, the GPS never turns off. I can get it to stop by killing the app in Advanced Task Killer, but then the time/weather does not update until i refresh it by clicking on the weather icon in the widget, and then it doesn't turn off again. Issue is, It likes to turn on while in my locker at work (I turn on Airplane mode to conserve power. I have been able to go a 9 hour shift and have roughly 85%-90% battery left, on the days that Beautiful Widgets decides to cooperate. Other days, like today, I'm at ~50% 4 hours into my shift, due to the GPS being stuck on.) I have tried disabling the GPS location, and it still does it. Also tried rebooting my phone, which has fixed it before, but didn't work today. I finally resorted to removing the widget from my home screen and that has worked so far. I would love to buy the app on the market (Currently using version 2.992 which I found in a ROM pack), but I don't want to spend the money on it if it will not fix this issue. I have tried multiple versions of the app, and it has been doing the same thing.
Any ideas?
How do you find you very the best battery life out of your cappy??

Your question is too generic. There are so many factors. Are you on stock or a custom rom?
What kernel/modem are you using?
What apps/widgets do you use?
There are tons of questions, what are you running, and how long does your battery last currently?
I'm running the new phoenix rising 4.0.3 using fancy and beautiful widgets facebook widget and score center.

Off hand I am not sure what the stock kernel is with that rom, but the build you are on is relatively new. Have you calibrated your battery and done a full charge cycle? 100% to dead
Things I do
Turn off auto rotate
Wifi policy set to off when screen is off
Limit how frequently I allow my apps to sync
Turn off mobile data when on wifi
how do you limit the syncing? in 'accounts and sync'? or each app?
Each app should have options for how frequent they sync
Can you explain how to do that? I've tried searching for that option in menu and nothing...

For example fancy widget, click on app in draw, refresh settings, I refresh every 6hrs.
The sports widget probably refreshes allot. I use sports center but I stoped using the widget
I turn of background synching for.my accounts that are on my phone like email and the like.
I always keep the brightness down on my phone and when I.really need to go for a while I will underclock the phone.
Low Screen brightness, No widgets, don't allow applications to "phone home". Gmail is the only thing I keep "sync" on for. Everything else I manually refresh. I also find that weather apps tend to keep refreshing data even after you think you've closed it. I have to keep an eye on Weather Bug (not the widget). I haven't put my captivate on the charger since Friday afternoon and it's now 5 am Sunday and it's still at 35%
Wow. I think I might have damaged my battery. I've tried calibrating my battery a few times and no change. A full charge still only lasts a few hours. I miss the way my battery used to be when I first got it.

Any tips on how to improve battery performance in the evo?
Vamirama
Dark wallpaper, root, custom rom, set cpu, push notifications instead of update intervals.
Screebl
I've just started using a market app called screebl and so far I like it. It works by having you set the minimum screen time and screebl determines the angle of your device and keeps your screen alive accordingly. For instance, laying flat for a period of time will turn off your screen. It's free and customizable, worth checking. There might be a "super" power app released soon.
Good luck, there are some apps that help with screen and wifi usage to increase the time between charges.

Hi everyone can you please tell me what your experience is in terms of battery life after the last update, cause for me it seems to have improved a lot, I woke up with the watch updated in the charger (left it to charge over night and the phone was connected to the wifi so it downloaded the app update on it's self and the watch was connected so it updated on it's own) and this is the 4th day of using it and now at 22:57 I finally got the 15% battery warning with high usage (3 of the days I used the watch to controll the music while I was at school so the screen was on 6h/per day in that app) and before this update I got the 15% message in the middle of the 3rd day with low usage (to read some notifications and answer some calls only)?
Also could you tell me what would you like to see this watch do in future updates (just to see what others think)? I would personally like to see:
-music control widget
-shake to wake
-double tap screen to wake (I don't belive this is possible/will be done)
-ability to see the clock when I am in any app (at least something like pressing the menu button and then pressing a button to show the clock for a couple of seconds)
-ability to open the notification drawer in any app (I would like to see this done like I said I would like to be able to show the clock)
-ability to set screen timeout (and perhaps with the "never" option)
-ability to set standby screen brightness (would really like to make it just a bit brighter so I can read the hour without having to turn on the screen when there is not a lot of light)
-ability to set screen timeout/brightness on a per-app basis (most surely won't see this, but I would love to make the messages app timeout longer and make the screen brighter when in it)
Also do you think we will get something like the Open SmartWatch project for the Smartwatch 2, and if yes when, cause I think we will, but it will be after Sony launches the Smartwatch 3 (or a bit before that at least, seeing how it was for the Smartwatch 1)?
I've only had the watch 12 hours or so but something I'd like is a watch face with seconds. I need it really for my job. I'd like to see the music app tweaked a bit too so you can choose between players at least.

In the music player smart extension click menu, also the seconds thing seems like it could be useful sometimes, and also they should update the curent watch face with date to make the writing bigger in my opinion, and perhaps a option for a secondary clock with the option to set a secondary location (I have that on my phone using the xDualStatusClock Xposed module so I know what hour is for a friend in the USA so I know not to distub him at night)
I just want the
battery percentage!! (of the watch of course)
my wishes (and i think the watch shouldve had this from the start):
-selectable screen timeout (5-30 seconds, in 5 second intervals)
-user defined/designed watch faces
setting the standby screen brightness is impossible i think, because the backlight is off, so there is no brightness to set

Yah, but I would like the option to turn it on and keep it on all times.
battery pertenctage %
I would love to see a weather clock. Every other smartwatch out there has this except the Sony ones.
Also a larger sized digital clock with black on white maybe with date would be nice too. A better music app could be nice too. Especially with the ability to del with the playlists.

AFAIK playlists are generally a proprietary feature of the music apps.
For Sony to deal with all possible music apps out there would be fairly impossible.
But there could be extensions that are specifically dedicated to some music players and that include playlist management.

I have old DigiLand tablet running Lollipop 5.1, not rooted. I just got a couple of Google Home minis and want to use it to run my Tasker/Autovoice scripts. My problem is that the screen keeps locking. I went into developer options and clicked on Stay Awake, so as long as it's sitting at the menu it doesn't go to sleep or lock.
However, since all the tablet will do is handle Google Home requests, I wanted to run a clock app on it -- looks cool sitting there in the bedroom. Problem is, so far, running the two clock apps I've tried, including the default clock app, when I exit the app, the screen is locked. I purchased Stay Awake and told it to keep the screen alive as long as clock app is running, but after a few hours, my Google Home requests fail because the screen is locked once it exits the clock app to perform the tasks.
My question is: Is there a clock app that can run and not cause the tablet to lock?
Thanks for any suggestions!
