Android Pie MIUI 10.4.0.1 - Xiaomi Redmi 6 Questions & Answers

So recently my Redmi 6 updated to Android Pie ( 9.0 ) via system updater ,with stable global realise MIUI . And after that it seems that the phone gets little lags here and there , particularly when folding task bar , or when killing apps in the task menu , and in battery menu most of the time it shows that "Screen" drains most of the battery . These problems were not present in Android Oreo ;//
So , these problems could be mostly caused by Android Pie? :/ Maybe Redmi 6 is not capable off running this OS .....
What is your experience after the update?

Well if you having the problem, reset it again once. it would very recommended after being reseted by the update by itself. But reset it once again is recommended (idk really, but seems have different for me)

Clean flash needed,,,

Hello, hyperion70,
Thank you for your work and that of the contributors.
Good weekend.
Hello,
Tested ROM RR. (I'm not a specialist)
Location impossible for France, so the menus remain in English for me. Location proposed: USA.
The installation is very fast and for navigation it is much more fluid.
GPS: Ok
The management of the battery seemed to me better.
For the rest of the ROM, it's really better at all points of view.

Hello hyperion70,
This is not a problem, it forces me to do a job on my English ..... and there is work .... I kept the phone in English yesterday and today I am ironed In original ROM. This allowed me to familiarize myself with the intricacies of TWRP and Root and it is very good for the neophyte that I am. I will wait for the new version of RR, thank you for the photos (here and on 4PDA) in any case, this simplifies the understanding.
Good week-end.
Hello, hyperion70, thank you so much for these wonderful roms. They both run very, very well.
Is it possible to activate double tap to wake up off display as in stock rom?
Thank you again

Not yet.
Resurrection Remix update.
Hello hyperion70,
Thanks a lot again, faster .... this is going to be difficult.
Have a good day.
Hello everyone,
Installation with TWRP as recommended by hyperion70.
Installation: no problem
GPS, Wifi, etc ... no problem
Battery: no problem
Question:
1 / Can we make sure that the bottom bar fades and returns when you want? As in the Leagoo ROM.
I found only: displayed / not displayed
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I reply to myself.
Parameters / RR-OS / Interface / Extended Desktop setting ON.
The bar appears when you need it and disappears after a few moments.
Have a good day.
Good evening,
2 problems:
1 / After installation this morning and normal use (for me), the battery is discharged much before (about 20%), I saw that Magisk could pose a problem, I deleted.
I want to know about the result.
2 / Battery charging.
A / Phone on: the screen goes off (1 mn for me) and it continues to charge without worries.
B / Telephone off: the screen darkens, the battery is displayed for the first time (searching), the battery appears a second time and the white bars show the progress of the charging.
The screen seems to go out BUT does not go out completely .... in a dark room you can see a luminous hallo on the whole screen.
I do not have a solution. Am I the only one?
The temperature is normal.
As I do a discharge test this night, no battery charging before tomorrow.
based in the us here. i have an m8 pro.
i've tried the stock freeme os roms, and the 7 nougat rom that's floating around.
the issue i have with the stock rom is freeme os.
it's got a horrendously annoying desktop interface. for example, you cannot just have a blank desktop, you have to keep at least one icon on it or it will disappear.
you can't get rid of the search bar.
cant stack icons on the bottom above the soft buttons. you can, but it's retarded.
that's all i've found so far that i'd rather not live with.
as for 7, the rom i used has this annoying 4g lte boot animation with a ringing noise, seems unnecessary considering after i rooted it and
installed another boot animation all it did was install on top of it and the ringing was still there. so basically, it didn't work.
but worse of all, the soft buttons disappear after a few moments of use, or randomly. the'yre just gone, and you can't get them back.
nobody seems to be talking about it, which i find hard to understand. is it only happening to me?
this is extremely frustrating as 7 was my only hope of getting away from freeme, unless there's a way to uninstall it.
i tried that, but that resulted in being stuck in some super minimal emergency shell, couldn't get it back. even tried reinstalling freeme launcher in play
on my box but that didn't work either.
so i'm back on 6 running twrp & rooted for now, until anything hopefully changes os wise.
i understand the phone is still new and i'm somewhat in no mans land, but i mean it has been out for a little bit now.
anyway, even after all this perhaps the worst problem of all is activating the ****ing thing on a network here.
it's great that we have these phones, but wtf? nowhere is there any information for how to activate them with a sim card nor can i find any 4g carriers that recognize
the imei. basically, wtf is the point of even having it if the aforementioned issues persist?
Hello everyone,
Battery: ROM RR update without Magisk loss of charge in 11:00 (night without doing anything) 48%.
That's a lot and it's not the Magisk program the cause.
ROM Freeme for the same period about 20%.

Try using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.futuremark.pcmark.android.benchmark&hl=en and post the results, if the M8 Pro isn't your daily driver.

Did you check http://willmyphonework.net/, before purchasing?
Try flashing the Lineage or RR rom by Hyperion70 and see how that works.
Hello Palm Trees,
I charge the battery (48%) and I post the results.
Hello,
There is obviously a problem, telephone extinguished, the screen does not completely shut down, in 1h30 only 21% more charge. With the ROM 3.05 at the same time I was charging about 45%.

LeEco (LeTV) 1S - 3G 4G low signal on 5.9.0.XXs ROM

Hello.
I've been looking for a while and i can”t find a similar problem.
Everytime i instal any Eui 5.9.0.XXs rom version, the 4G and 3G signal run low.
In same place, with custom ROM (crDroidAndroid-7.1.2-20180524--v3.8.8--Official, LegendROM-N-v19.0-20180107--Official,etc) the signal is ok.
I'm sure 100% it's because of the software I use. Maybe there is a setting (maybe by mtk engineering ??) to solve my problem ....
I repeat, I tried mutiple ROMs on the same phone, but only the custom shows me a strong signal.
I buy the phone in december 2015 and i think i see the problem first time in winter 2016-2017.
The problem occurred over time, it has not been since I bought the phone. Then I noticed that custom ROMs help me.
Since I bought about once every 6 months I always installed the software (custom or official).
Until last days i use Official builds of crDroid Android v3.8.8 (Android 7.1.2), very good, i like how much the battery last, unfortunately no volte and a seeting i use (for this i instal 5.9 xxs ROMs) automatically switch phone on and off (is there any app?)
I think i will reinstall crDroid Android ROM, but maybe somebody can tell me a way to increase signal power for this „problem” ROMs .
Thank you.

[MIUI 13.0.2] Apps keep rebooting phone

As title, i've been using the Apps called "Meitu" since long ago, it's all good until i updated MIUI to 13.0.2 from MIUI 12.xxx
Now, every single time i open apps Meitu, the phone 100% will force rebooting which is very annoying, and i found that kinda only this Apps Meitu *(what i have) will trigger this rebooting problem, anyone experience about the same thing? and how to solve this? bug or?
**looks like MIUI 13.0.2 is my latest update, no more available update, as i saw some having MIUI 13.0.3 and later

Question Possible touchscreen issue with TB-Q706F when using A12 and onwards

I briefly tested Android 12 as well as Android 13 GSIs on my TB-Q706F, with necessary and hopefully up-to-date vendors flashed for the purpose.
While most of the OS functionalities work fine, I noticed there are major issues with touchscreen, as when gaming, from time to time touchscreen would stop responding altogether, disrupting gameplay. I originally noticed this when I started using A12 GSI, but it appears the issue persists with A13 GSI as I have tested recently.
I'm not sure if other users on A12/A13 GSIs are also having the issue. In my case, the issue with touchscreen doesn't appear to manifest in Android 11 GSIs. When I reverted my tablet back to Android 11 GSI, the issue went away and touchscreen is now working fine.
So far I've only tested GSIs, so I don't know whether stock ZUI 14 is also affected like any other A12 GSI. I can't really test too much about this as I need the tablet to be in a usable state, and that touchscreen-related issues are not trivial to capture and inspect.
It's strange that no one else reported this issue. I encountered the same when I recently flashed to the official global Android 12L via Lenovo rescue assistant and encountered intermittent unresponsive touchscreen during gaming also.
Over the course of using this tablet on Android 11 for more than 1 year and I had never encountered such issues.
When I encountered this issue, I just quickly press the power button to put it on standby and wake it up again.

Touch screen works fine with no major issues when using Android 11. It's only when using Android 12 and onwards that the touchscreen would intermittently stop responding.
The problem is, touch-related issues may not be noticeable if not doing any intensive gaming, and are very hard to pinpoint.
I recall Lenovo was aware of some touch-related issues at least according to the official A12L Developer Preview image at some point. Not sure if the issues have been resolved by the time ZUI 14 came out.
Had Lenovo ever released kernel sources for our device (Q706F/Q706Z)? I don't know where one can request kernel sources from them...
EDIT: So turning off the screen then turn it back on would restore the touchscreen functionality? If this works 100%, then logcats during the moment when you turn the screen off, as well as the moment when you turn the screen on, may contain hints.

If you want a clean Android you can try Phh's AOSP GSI. You should be able to find an A11 build there.
