First OnePlus device. Trying to get everything setup. I've copied all my Notification tones to the Notification folder and ringtones to Ringtones etc but when I go into the device notification sounds not everything is showing up. Some of my sounds are but not all. I've tried system notification sounds and notification sounds from individual apps
I've been searching OnePlus site and here. Only thing I can think of is it's b/c they're .wav files?? every other android phone I've used has worked with them
Yup. wav files are a nogo. sorry. disregard

The subject basically says it. I can't find a tutorial for my specific phone the Sprint Samsung Transform. I have downloaded my songs, trimmed them down, created the ringtones folder on the root of my sd card, and dropped the mp3s in there. went back to phone settings sounds and notifications. changed my phones ringtone, that worked. now i want to change the sound the plays when i receive a new text, but i cannot find the option to do that on the phone. am i missing something or is there a hack or anything that will enable this?
i found a sort of fix for this. change your notification ringtone to whatever you want your text message ringtone to be. the only problem is it makes that same sound for every notification. most noticeably when you plug your phone ino the charger. thats the best ive figured out tho.
I have no problem adding custom ringtones, but cannot for some reason see how to use custom notification sounds? What am I doing wrong?

I believe all you have to do is add a folder called notifications and put your sounds there. That should solve it.

I am having an issue getting the stock email app to recognize a different notification sound. No matter which one I select it always uses the same one and I can't hear it at all. I can't change it from within the email app either. Anyone else notice this?
does not support .ogg files

This has been driving me Bonkers! I have tried to move over notification sounds from my Galaxy Nexus and the problem I have run into is that this phone will not play .ogg files (open source sound files from what I understand). Like you said, it just plays the stock sound. The notification sounds and ringtones on this phone are all .mp4. So.... we will have to convert the .ogg files to .mp4 files.
Personalize app > Sounds Tab > Notification Sound > Email (default sound is 'Hint')
Unable to access custom ring tones in notification folder using the following:
Personalize app > Sounds Tab > Notification Sound > Email
Never mind, got it. RESTARTED phone and new ring tones (notification sounds) showed up in the list.
I have three folders full of ringtones notifications and alarms gathered from pretty much every device. I put the ringtones folder on my SD card and it works fine and I could select ringtones through the sound options. I tried the same with the notifications folder and didn't have any luck. I am rooted and have Root Browser so I then tried copying the folder to the system /media./notification. Part of the phone. I fixed permissions and still no luck. Anyone have any ideas on how to get my own notifications selectable through the sound options. With my droid razr I just made folders on SD card and ringtones notifications and alarms all work. Like I stated the ringtones works like this but no luck with notifications and I have yet to try alarms
Ok, I need a little help, as this problem has me stumped.
I wanted to set a custom notification sound, so I copied 2 new mp3 files to /sdcard/media/audio/notifications. Normally this should allow me to select those sounds as notification sounds from the sound settings, but this time it didn't work (I have done it successfully before). I then proceeded to open the files in ES File Explorer, selected Play and Set as Ringtone, Notification Tone. That worked and the sound was set as the default notification tone. BUT, here's the kicker, when I now go to settings - Sound - Notification Sound, on the screen where you can set the Default notification, Messages, Calendar, Mail and Notice, I am no longer able to select any tones for each of these categories. When I go into Default notification, where I used to get a list of notification sounds, there is no list anymore, and the Apply button is greyed out. Same with the other notification categories.
I've tried selecting a different notification sound through ES File Explorer, and that changed the Default again, but I still can't get a list to load in the settings screen. I've already tried clearing data and defaults for the ES File Explorer, Music and Android System under Apps in settings, but that didn't fix it either. I've rebooted just to make sure it wouldn't correct itself, no luck. I'm stuck. I would like to have the ability again to set these different categories of notification sounds. Can anyone help?
I ended up restoring a backup to fix this issue. Problem solved.
I have a number of custom ringtones/notification sounds in the internal SD all this time. Suddenly, I am unable to see them in this list to set custom ringtones and notification sounds. The Z3 can't see them for some reason.... not so sure why.
The notification sounds are in the notification folder while ringtones are in the ringtones folders. Nothing has changed. I have confirmed that those custom ringtones are still in the internal SD (in the notification and ringtone folders respectively!) via the file manager.
Rebooting the phone doesn't help.
Even using ringtone apps like Ringtone Maker .. I am unable to see any of the files and set them accordingly. I could do it before. The only way I can see the ringtones/notification is when I use the Browse option in the app... then I can locate them.
Thanks for reading.
