Hello, I just got my device today.. set it up and disabled ads and everything but there is this issue where when I search something on the Google app and shows a play store suggestion, if I click that, the phone asks "Open with" but with no app options. This issue is not only for the Google app, but every other app as well. If any other app has a button that is supposed to open Play store, the same problem appears. I'll attach a link to the video to show a sample of the problem.

Well it looks like you uninstalled something which was necessary for the system to function smoothly. More like a backend service. Flash MIUI again and only remove the app based services like Analytics, don't tamper with the system apps...
I do not have the device rooted but I did uninstall some apps which I could uninstall directly. So I tried installing the latest MIUI from updater but that didn't work for me. Do you mean to say I should factory reset the device and check? Because in too lazy to set up the device again?

No No don't factory reset, just do a dirty flash, i.e flash your current MIUI again through the MiFlash tool (Don't flash older versions nor you will end up with a bootloop), that should install the necessary apps again.
No actually its a bug in miui 10.3.12 which is already reported to xiaomi

Thanks for your suggestion. I took some time and performed a factory reset from recovery and after setting up the device, I looked if the issue was still there. Fortunately, it showed two options for me : "Complete action using : GetApps or Play Store." So I chose play Store as default now. To be honest, I still don't know what actually caused the problem. I hadn't uninstalled any system app nor the GetApps app. However the issue is now fixed for me. Thanks for your time and help.?

What really happened was, I had set Play Store as default over GetApps last time I reset it. So the links were automatically opening in play store. 2 days ago, I cleared the data of Play Store because I wanted the new material design of Play Store. Unfortunately, I did not get that and when I had cleared the data, as usual, the defaults I set for play store were cleared too. But if the defaults were cleared, it should have given me the options again. But it isn't.
EDIT: I found out that this bug is common for all Redmi Note 7 Pro devices running MIUI 10.3.12 Global. I tested one of my relative's N7P to see if the bug was there and it was! If you guys are not finding the bug, try clearing Play Store's app data and try again. I'm sure you guys will find the bug.

Android System WebView is disabled for me. The only WebView implementation I have is through Chrome. So maybe it was because of Google Chrome.

Hi there everyone,
Here is a solution, confirmed by Google Play Support, and does not require your phone to be rooted for solving this issue.
1. Tap Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
2. Go to "All"
3. Scroll down to "Google Play Store" and tap to select it.
4. Click on 'Force Close'
5. Click on 'Clear Data'
6. Click on 'Uninstall Updates'
7. now it is safe to click on 'continue' when u open the market..so go ahead.
8 Enjoy Installing/Updating your desired apps.

Then, I installed gPlay 3.5.19..still it didn't work (this one didb;t even start to download at all). lol
Worst of all, everytime i run it..google is prompting to update it..and i cant bypass that stupid update..dafuq?!! =="

I had this problem. I installed the rom and then i restored data with recovery from an other rom. After that a couldnt install some programs. And i solved it with this. I installed the rom and then i installed titanium and i did the recovery with it. Then all was ok.

Would it because of my phone bloatware free and using broodkernel?

As we are not the only one who facing this strange problem so in my opinion i still think that the main issue came from the Play itself. Correct me if i'm wrong because i'm not expert in android. However, flashing a new rom might be a good try and hope that it solved the problem. Good Luck !
I do not have a custom rom on my phone, but i did have the same problems. Everytime i tried to update something i get error 403. Some ppl said turn off wifi go tot 3G and try again..

This didn't work too..i flashed rom from another region..then google prompted me to update (as usual)..and after the update, *poof* same nonsense got repeated.."stuck at download" *pfft*

why not you try find out some way to make it stop auto update like my phone
***i don't know what i have set...even i always flash my phone but still doesn't prompt me for update...so might link to the google account setting
I also tried this recently as suggested by many over the internet.
Open file explorer (need to be rooted), go to:
System> Framework> rename 'framework-res.apk' to 'framework-res.apk.bak' wait for a few FC's then rename it back to 'framework-res.apk'.
This will enable you to re-enter a google account into the system. Some say this worked, but for me it hasn't. Maybe this could work for you too..who knows. (sigh)
Anyways, I just re-flashed the whole rom again..lets hope it works now.
Edit: this is so ridiculous, google taking ages to reply. I did everything i could, even re-flashed the rom..and still nothin..dafuq?!! *sigh*
Ok, peepz..i found a temporary workaround for this problem..and it WORKS!! I hope that Google gets a fix for this nonsense..and FAST!! x(
Here is what I did:
1- go to app manager from settings,
2- uninstall the latest version of google play store
3- clear data and cache of google play store
4- install version Google Play Store v3.5.19
5- when you open the market, google will still prompt you to update to the latest version (dont continue, leave it as it is)
6- if you want to update/install the apps do it thru the browser in your phone/computer (it will straight away update in your phone)
Cheers!! ^_^
ok guys i also have send a complain to google, but when you send it they says they work from 8am to 6pm on those complains so we have to wait a little.
For now i have solved the problem by freezing MarketUpdate.apk via titanium backup pro. i think that probably a new update of google play will solve this, so any now and then i will de-frost google play and check!
ok now after a while it just started update by himslf.
in the meanwhile google support team answered me sayng that the problem is that my phone is rooted. so to unroot and do a hard reset! i ansqered that they are just crazy and that i found on an italian forum a person with everything stock and not rooted with the same problem so to do not bull**** me. also if i told them so in realy good manners
then i found another way t stop this and again, for now it is working. with es filemanager i have changed privilege of vending.apk from rw--rw--rw- to r--r--r--
for now it seems like not updating anymore!
what the hell is goin on with this damn google play?!?!? i have managed to preventi it from update yesteray until now, now i opened market to check a thing and it was updated!!! Someone managed to solve this????
EDIT

I seriously do not think that the problem is related to being rooted or using custom roms..dafuq?!!
So far, my workaround is working well..the only part which i dont like is everytime i have to install/update..i have be connected to the WiFi/data, and update/install manually from the browser in the device/computer.
Now google play website enables updating from the site itself (via "My Android Apps")..so its kinda convenient..but still suck!! xp
Still, am not satisfied with google's services..till now they havent replied any solution for the problem.
This works for me:
1º Install "Root Explorer" (you can use Blackmart or other alternative market)
2º Disable wifi and data
3º Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/Google Play: Unistall Updates
4º With Root Explorer: System/App/MarketUpdater.apk: change permissions to ONLY READ
It would work
EDIT: Sorry, it only work 5 minutes.
Hi. I'm experiencing a weird issue with my nexus 5 (stock ROM, root). When I try to install any application, at the permissions screen, I just cannot tap the "Install" button. It's like the touchscreen didn't work (but it works). The "cancel" button works fine, and the "install" button isn't grayed out or something. I've already tried rebooting or switching to landscape. Any suggestion? Thank you

I'd clear the cache and data from the Play Store and reboot and retry. If that doesn't work, then I''d clear the Google Play Services and Google Services Framework and reboot and retry. Might open up weird the first time or 2 after clearing all of them, but should get back to normal once everything logs in and resyncs.

Well, always want to eliminate the potential easy fixes first. Are you on Dalvik or ART? Do you have a custom recovery? Are these all apps or just ones that you have downloaded / used before? Are you able to uninstall an app you already have loaded and reinstall or just update one?

Duh, I just automatically read into the OP that it was the Play Store, not thinking of sideloading or other avenues.
OP: Do you have any type of screen adjustment apps for like brightness control? Lux, and Xposed mod, or something of the like? This can also create this issue. That or your package installer is messed up.

The problem happens to any the apk. I'm sure I could install them before. It does not happen when I download an app from Play Store, but that's because the permissions screen is different. I can successfully uninstall apps, but not reinstall or update them.

Ok then. First thing is the screen changing type apps. Screen brightness, etc. Uninstall any of those, reboot and try again. If there are no issues there, then clear the cache and data from your package installer (are you using the regular Package Installer or the Google Verify and Install one)? Once you do that, would reboot to CWM and clear cache/dalvik and fix permissions (if possible, haven't used CWM in awhile) and reboot. If all that fails, try another package installer.

Awesome! I just happened to have stumbled across this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048457 that seemed like the same boat you were in. So thanks to them, and Google. I'm just the messenger.
Hi,
Just got my OnePlus 6 yesterday and I'm already having an issue with it. As of today, I cannot download or update apps from the Play Store. They are just perpetually stuck in the "Downloading" state (screenshot below). I'm also getting the "Google Play Services won't run unless you update Google Play Services" notification from time to time. I've cleared cache and data, reset app preferences, and manually downloaded the latest Google Play Services APK, but it's still having the same problem. I've read guides that suggest uninstalling Play Services updates, then updating it again, but it isn't showing up in the device administrators list so I can deactivate it before I do that.
My phone is rooted through Magisk and has the bootloader unlocked.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Update: Gmail is not showing new emails. Not sure if this is related or not.

PLEASE HELP! I cannot install the first Google Play Services app downloaded from the link after I uninstalled existing Google Play Services app. Installation of Google Play Services always failed because (it says) my device has newer version even after I uninstalled it.
Now my device does not have Google Play Services but I can't install the version downloaded from the link.
My phone suddenly gave me tge play protect cerification error and could not access playstore, youtube, google maps, chrome,... Etc.
However, i tried the googlifier method and i have everything working fine yet the google play services is not updated and thus Android auto does not work and requires me to update Google play services and when i did i got the certification error again.
Any solution?

Had to do it today too, but I skipped all the app activities, just uninstalled the Google Play services, and installed the older one, posted in this thread.
Worked like a charm.
I can open again Google apps without error messages, but Android Auto still does not work, because the fixed installed Google play services is an older version. Any solution for Android Auto?
I have tried a few options out there, however despite un-installing the GPS when I go to install the 1st pkg it returns with a message to say I already have a 'newer' version installed.
I have rebooted the phone to see if that would clear it however nothing.
Force stop GPS & clear Data before uninstall. Afterwards, install the GPS fix from the video link. It should work.

Yeah this is the same problem from years. Push notifications are broken with these kind of method.
Is this method working? I can't downgrade and I feel bad about my fiancée for recommending this camera phone to her. I would like to find a way to allow you to use at least contacts and mail. Can you help me?
