Soo i have s8 with baseband G950USQU5DSD3. Can i flash the G950USQS5DSF2 without problems ?
Just stay away from the boot, espessially magisk because its secured and if you dont abide by daddy sam, and restart, you'll end up with a blue screen saying you dun goofed. Can easily reboot the phone in DL mode and reflash stock firmware. But over the curious trial and error, the best way to go about a rooted device is safestrap twrp. flash the combination eng firmware.md5 through the modified raydon Odin [which I've had a 100 success rate] and then choose between jrkruse's pie edl method if you want a non rooted, system editable piestock or a pre firm engineer combo rom, or go to the DREAMrom which is the same edl method but a fantastic nougat pre rooted. Which is what I'm currently using. Sucks to have a beautiful device being forced to withheld potential and beauty. Like a tank with machine gun rounds.t's worth it though going through the process. If you mess up, it's easy to recover and restart till you get it right. You can PM me otherwise. I'm new at the game but I've been advancing in a fast rate over the course of 2 years. Just haven't posted anything yet but I'm cooking up behind the curtains, just want a solid first go at developing. If anything regardless I wouldn't mind giving my best opinion. Farewell and good luck my friend

Oh and make sure to only flash v5, which is that 5 at the end of your "baseband" if it's a 1 or 2, Odin will fail anyhow

Im really new to rooting phones && this ODIN stuff. I want to get the Glorious Overdose rom but I need KJ2. I downloaded the [ROM][ODIN] T839UVKJ2 (Sidekick 4G) Firmware [13.10.11] but it got my phone stuck in the logo screen loop. I really want the rom , can anyone help ?!
bump..
This is my first post - but have spent the past few weeks searching through the depths of xda. I know the rules, and am rather turned off that questions get immediately shot down.
I'm not new to this but am no expert either. My phone is soft bricked, though not the first time and been able to get myself out of it a few times. However I am not stuck, trying in ODIN, but either am not receiving the proper files to download on this on other forums, or something is not working.
I've had a ton of questions but tried to trouble shoot, since it appears most on here either get ignored (hence above) or receive a weeks worth of "WHY are you asking questions dumbass?!" responses without help.
Though there are alot of you that have been tremendous help, through reading your responses to those have similar questions.
Anyway - bump this subject - Ive downloaded multiple zips and files relating to what my sk4g needs to odin properly, however none have worked. some have made it through odin, but reek havoc on the phone and still will not boot.
does anyone have the modern rar and mc5 files i need to odin flash my sk4g. ultimately im looking to flash glorious overdose and soo close, only to end up sooooo far behind with bricks.
any help or file links would be great
Hey guys. I know how you feel on the no answering of the posts. I got a lot of that when I first started out. Don't get discouraged though. I think both of you guys are soft bricked. Go to this site http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6H-5SSE0E0, he will give you a full description w/ video on how to odin back to normal. Make sure your phone is in downloading mode (there is a vid link for that too.) I myself am tryin to find a way to get to get the update, so i can try another rom. Hope this helps, don't get discouraged!
the link is not working i am trying to do this too! damn government.... does anybody have a good working link?
this is only to get back from a soft brick. as far as trying to switch over to kj1 im not too sure. been tryin to find a link or post about it. the link works fine for me.
---------- Post added at 08:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:44 PM ----------
ok guys. odin your phones using the link earlier. when that is done, you will be back to stock. after that go to http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2452. this is tmobiles site which will give you the samsung klies app, which will then update(when directions are followed) and you will have kj2 operating system. from there you root your phone, and can put on your new rom. search the internet guys. i bounced around 3 different sites and found the answer in about 10 minutes. seek and you shall find...
Just to update. I did try and it did not work. trying to find a fix guys.
---------- Post added at 11:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:30 PM ----------
Just to let you guys know i tried the Heimdall file and it worked fine. Had to try about 5 times but it worked. Phone wiped to original state and now doing the klies upgrade for the phone. will be flashing glorious overdose in a second.
This thread seems to be developing pretty nicely..
I need help with my bric.. I mean Sidekick.
Soft-bricked it trying to flash Smooth Maximus I believe..
I can get it into download mode but I need mirrors.
does anyone have the KD1 or KG2 stock .tars? If so, a mirror would be VERY helpful to quite a few people now.. =\
EDIT: I found a firmware claiming to be newer than the 2 mentioned above. It is labeled "KH1" instead of either KD1 or KG2.
http://hotfile.com/dl/145788939/08a9a06/SGH-T839_T839UVKH1_TMB.zip.htm
That is the address to it, I just downloaded it so I can confirm it is a working link.
You will need the password to open the file, and to get it, sign up on samfirmware.com (free), and look for the password for files containing the symbol "##".
It should be in place of the KD1OdinSTOCK.tar, or the KG2OdinSTOCK.tar, along with the .pit being sk4g.pit.
Any questions or comments, (I'm not an expert by any chance at all) Ask me and I'll try my hardest to answer.
Is KH1 a beta because my sidekick doesn't detect it as an update?
Ok Hi every one. I'm new here but I learned much about what I want. Still nothing. I tried to root my sgs 4g with superoneclick with no luck, many different CF also with no luck. Generaly probably my problem is that I've got 3e recovery.. i tried also put CWM but also with no luck and load some other kernel through Odin but only one working is the same that I've got - 2.6.35.7-T959VUVKJ5-CL685701. The main reason about the root is I want ICS 4 on my samsung galaxy s t-mobile. I'm shore its posibble. Thanks for any sugestions.
Z4root or superoneclick needed
Here's a forum that talks about rooting your phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966133
I did it on version 2.2 with Z4root. But in that forum they mention superoneclickroot, so you may want to try that one.
In any case, you will likely need to get Odin 1.7 (the samsung flashing tool) and the USB drivers for your device ready on your PC before you can continue.
Take a look at that forum for more info to get you going in the right direction

Heres' the ROM I am currently using....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553437
But I have heard there are others that might be better, so I ma looking for the latest and greatest right now. But I can confirm this works fine. You probably want to optimize your radio after you get through the whole ROM install. If you are in the US, I can point you to where to get a new radio.
Super Wipe Script for Vibrant with ICS:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166954&highlight=lippol
General process for new ROM is to backup in recovery then super wipe the phone and reboot to recovery then run your ROM installer. It is also recommended to install any firmware updates BEFORE the ROM install, so if you have one, keep this in mind.
i was Running Cyanogen Mod the ICS version and my phone was working fine tell it would randomly turn of and boot loop which i was able to fix by reapetably pressing the power button but now that does work and the phone died and i cant get into download mode or Clockwork recovery Any suggestions Would be highly appreciated Thanks!
i am definitley not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but this has happened to me a couple times.
sounds to me the best bet is return to stock.
look into the super everything thread by BigJoe.
either Odin or Heimdall. which ever you are more comfortable with. prefer Odin myself, but everyone has their preference.
if you have never had to do it, read once, read twice. very easy.
if i can do it so can you. u can never go wrong going back to stock. sometimes may be the long way, but for me its safer.
---------- Post added at 04:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:39 PM ----------
super everything thread is in "infuse development".
u probably knew that, but saw your join date and figured it couldnt hurt.
this whole concept was very confusing to me at first. was absolutly paranoid rooting and flashing first time.
i spent first 2 months just reading and trying to understand. figured my phone would blow up.
but i managed to pull it off.
sure u will too.
I497UCBMF2 AT&T 4.1.2 Firmware (Rooted)
For some unusual reason there is little to no development for the SGH-I497 and absolutely ZERO official firmware available for the AT&T model. This means, if you soft brick the tablet trying to install something you should not have, you have no easy way of getting back to the stock firmware. In addition, getting to the 4.1.2 version of the AT&T firmware is a royal pain due to the massive amount of "PATCH CHECKS" and assert checks built in to the OTA update. This means any deodexed system or a number of other reasons will be rejected if you try the OTA update while on non-official or approved firmware. So, for your convenience, I have compiled a simple ODIN-Flashable TAR file which will jet you up to speed installing the latest official AT&T 4.1.2 firmware.
Details:
I497UCBMF2 Stock w/ Root Pre-Installed (NO MODEM INCLUDED AS I DON'T HAVE THIS. IF YOU HAVE STOCK 4.1.2 INSTALLED WITH THE MF2 MODEM, PLEASE SEND ME THE MODEM AND I'LL ADD IT TO THE ODIN PACKAGE)
Package Includes: SBL2, SBL3, ABOOT, RPM, TZ, BOOT, RECOVERY, SYSTEM AND CACHE ZONES
Download:
I497UCBMF2 AT&T 4.1.2 Firmware (Rooted)
Password on the archive is: www.mobiletechvideos.com
How To Flash:
BACKUP YOUR FILES AND DATA BEFORE FLASHING...ALWAYS. First extract this file using WinRAR or a program capable of extracting a RAR package as the package inside it is the TAR file you need. This was done to save time on the download. Once extracted, using ODIN, select PDA and choose this file. Now place your tablet in DOWNLOAD MODE by having it powered off, then power on by holding POWER and VOLUME DOWN until you see the on-screen text come up. Release the buttons and press VOLUME UP to enter DOWNLOAD MODE. Now click START on ODIN. Once completed (takes around 10 minutes), it is advised to enter RECOVERY MODE and perform a FACTORY DATA RESET for the best bug free experience since I don't know what ROM you are flashing from.
Did this help you out? Great, I'm glad it did! Click that THANKS button next to my name if you have the time. Please note, if you find yourself in a hard/soft brick situation of any type on any advice, give me a shout via PM or email through the contact page on our site.
RESERVED...
If you have downloaded and flashed, please report back your results...
17 Downloads and no reports?
Not work,pls fix it,my screenshot
Stuck on download mode
Try to flash it again. I tested it a few times and it's been downloaded over 30 times with no negative reports. If it is still problematic for you, I'll upload a cache free version...
Mine is still pretty clean, which block do you need.
Do you have MF2 stock modem?
What are peoples experiences with this? Did they lose their modem?
You won't lose your modem, it just doesn't include the MF2 modem as I can't locate one is all. Also, there have been 66 downloads and no reports so I imagine all is well. I strongly believe the person above with poor English did something incorrect when installing due to that many downloads with no ill reports. I do wish someone would just flash and report afterwards though!
I just received this response from user "dobermanchik"...
"Hi,
I cannot post into the developers board so I am reduced to using this private message system. I'd like to thank you for that firmware. It works great for me and I have no issues so far. I was able to unlock additional languages and overall the system is stable and bugless. Thanks again."
ill give it flash and let you know
cr*p i just soft bricked my tablet by trying to change the font hope this works will report back after i flash.

ATT Samsung SGH 1497 Tablet unlock bootloader
Hi,
I appreciate your work on this device. You have noticed like me that little is out there for this device. You have provided some nice workarounds to update this tablet, however, I cannot find anywhere, a way to unlock to boot loader. I have carrier unlock from ATT, and cannot seem to fins a way to root this tablet.
You seem to have already accomplished this and I wanted to ask for your help to unlock my Samsung SGH 1497 ATT Tablet.
If you could help, I will rave about you on XDA!
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Mark (hammeru)
brought my sgh 1497 back from the dead.
I successfully used your posted firmware to revive my 10.1 samsung!
thanks.

It's posted right below the download link?
It worked for me, but I wish it had TWRP on it. I ended up installing that separately.
installing the firmware takes a long time. be patient. all ok.
Brother in law had an S6 that was in a reboot loop restarting after hanging on the Verizon screen. I am the family computer smart guy so I was assigned to take a look. A quick google had me thinking I could just download the stock firmware and flash it with ODIN. I downloaded what I thought was stock nougut and installed it (AP,BL,CP,CSC files) and now it's booting to an unlocked samsung logo and Doing random things at boot like trying to update apps and randomly rebooting before it finishes that.
Is there a way to just take this phone in EVERY way back to complete stock? I'm good at computer issues, but I haven't troubleshot an android phone like this in many years. I'd really appreciate any help you guys could give. I couldn't download the firmware from sammobile because the free download never started. I'd be OK installing a custom ROM instead of stock if that's the only option, I just really hope I can get this phone functioning in some fashion for him. It seems like it's saveable, I can get into Download mode still.
Going to sammobile online and finding model, country and carrier you should be able to download the appropriate firmware. Ask in their forums if you are at all unsure though!

You used the wrong firmware I think. You could also flash twrp via Odin and install a custom rom that is debloated to make phone run better

Use smart switch and tell it to recover the device. It will get the firmware for you.
