I really liked the ROM, but there's this one issue with mine, camera app keeps crashing and open camera from playstore says cannot open camera maybe in use by other application. BTW I flashed stock gapps on the ROM. Something I might have done wrong?

Use Nano or Micro Gapps only. It will definitely solve ur problem. Also fresh install for rom.

Did u disable camera 2 api in Color OS before flashing?

Wasn't camera2api supposed to be enabled in order to uses other camera apps such as Google cam?

Camera 2 api must be enabled for using gcam only
To use cameras in other apps normally disable camera 2 api
If u ve backed up color os, now backup RR, now restore color os, disable camera 2 api, now restore RR. All apps must work with the camera.

and i use footej cam...and it us stable for me...u should try too..

Hotspot is not working.
For me Hotspot is not working, when i turn it on after a few seconds the the screen just turn off and i have to force restart again the device.

What kernel you're using?? If you're using Graphene v1.3 then remove it and use the stock one or overload v4.13....

Looks like you are a newbie. Wipe>Advanced wipe>Cache, Dalvik Cache,System, Data (Data doesn't include pictures, songs,videos etc.)
Then go to install Flash ROM(liquid remix zip) +gapps+magisk.zip. that's it. no need to flash kernel separately, it's included already in ROM

If you have a major bug to report that has not been reported already, please take the following steps to report it to us. It will save you, Team Resurrection Remix and me quite some time.
Download the Catlog app from the Play Store.
There is also a donate version which you can purchase to show appreciation.
After downloading the Catlog app, go to the app settings, and change the log level to Debug.
Clear all previous logs and take the exact steps to produce the error you are receiving. As soon as you receive the error (probably a force close), go straight into Catlog and stop the log recording.
Copy and paste the entire log either to Hastebin or Pastebin
Save the log, and copy and paste the link into the thread with a brief description of the error.

Only the kernel needs to be opensource as it follows GPL.

Why it's not safe ? Can somebody explain the risk to me here ? Cause I don't get it.
Aside from usual risk using any other custom rom.
One thing I can tell for sure - it's not safe for you to use that garbage stock PIE.
It can damage your nerve system.

It has outdated "naked stock look" to a lot of stuff that I don't like. (if that makes sense)
But that's just a personal preference.
Switched back to PE for looks.
Just because I don't have enough time to make this ROM look like I want to.
Used it for an evening - everything is fast and smooth AF. Trebuchet launcher sucks tho.
Otherwise - Great ROM! Thumbs Up from me.

i need help :s after flashing this rom, it booted but all my internal storage was corrupted, all folders and files were with names like "AxfThUKngFddS" and tried to go back to stock and now it does not boot and it says that my internal storage es corrupted... i need to recover all my data!!! i have no backup

Same here. Uninstalled after few hours of use. AOSP Extended is the best so far. Battery friendly and so smooth AF. PE for me drains battery so I will stick for AEX for now even if it is not official yet. Hope it will be official soon.

Can I do the installation?

I am using lineage 16. Battery is very well.
I think Mi a2 has encryption bug. So I disable encryption.
If you dont disable encryption Device emmc be slow.

If you have a major bug to report that has not been reported already, please take the following steps to report it to us. It will save you, Team Resurrection Remix and me quite some time.
Download the MatLog app from the Play Store.
After downloading the MatLog app, go to the app settings, and change the log level to Debug.
Clear all previous logs and take the exact steps to produce the error you are receiving. As soon as you receive the error (probably a force close), go straight into MatLog and stop the log recording.
Copy and paste the entire log either to Hastebin or Pastebin
Save the log, and copy and paste the link into the thread with a brief description of the error.

From initial testing there doesn't seem to be any annoying bugs

You can't restore data partition from a TWRP backup of other roms (e.g LineageOS etc.) as the data is incompatible with each other. Thats what I assume you did.

Yes, that's what i did, but i did it before with another pie roms, and never happened to me that the wifi doesn't work. I don't know... maybe it's a problem with my phone.

Are you using droidfreak's lineage 16 as a base? I want to flash this over it is why I ask.

Yes. But I recommend clean flashing if you're going from LineageOS 16 as there may be issues otherwise.

I understand, been flashing ROMs for a while. I will probably try a dirty flash first but know any issues are not supported. It's worked for me on most devices when flashing. Just don't want to have to set it up again. I only keep my sunia because the awesome development on it. It cost $5 from Freedompop as a add on line, and it out shines the phone I got it with by a large amount because you developers! Thank you though! Oh, Are you going to continue to build different ROMs? I saw pixel experience! If you are looking for other ROMs to try to build I would suggest either havoc or aicp. I suggest them because in the past they have been a bit more stable build after build on the other devices I have used. RR seems to always come first though! :silly:

wich version of gapps is usable: arm or arm64?
I suppose a dirty flash on the RR Nougat version is not possible?

Arm32. I wish it was 64 some people have started to do that with the g4/g4+ so maybe it will happen.

Can enable camera to api to install Gcam?

Call connect but Can not hear call sound. Call feature not working properly.

Calls working ok for me. Will post some of the minor issues when I get the time. But overall the rom is really great.
P.s. Anyone noticed if battery life got better or worse, compared to nougat for example?

Didn´t try calls...the rest is working good so far.

I can't install Magisk on this ROM.
In TWRP did't appeared any error but Magisk Manager says it isn't installed.

I have already applied for Official Maintainership 2 days ago, still no response from RR Team, till then I will just post Unofficial Builds.

It seems to work fine after a factory reset for a while, then after a reboot it crashes again

Anyone tried it and can compare with Pixel Experience?

Alright, thanks waiting for my Mi A2 to arrive and can't live without RR, never liked stock roms, for me is essential for any phone, does it support IR blaster and doubletap2wake? Thanks for porting this to this phone

It's support dt2w if you use stockROM Oreo base before flashing

So far my best rom. Only a few issues:
- Apps data from Google is not being restored at all.
- Xiaomi Doze and Parts are crashing
- Camera does not work at all. Bootleggers has a fully working camera with Night Sight enabled, can you use it here?
- Google Documents/Files app is not default
Can you please fix these issues for next update?

Alright the phone must come with Oreo, gonna twrp and flash the rom, I guess Pie Rom must flash new modem firmware hence disabling doubletap2wake, alright took note, hopefully it has oreo firmware.

Camera works perfectly, Google restore also... Xiaomi parts are crashing, but I've fixed it with Titanium backup from last build... Why nobody makes option to change colors and fonts for status bar anymore? Also for lockscreen... Still RR Is prolly best ROM I've seen so far for last few years and any Android device...

That's really weird. Camera didn't work for me. Did you flash anything special?
And btw, yes, Google restore works for apps, but it does NOT work for apps data (that is, saved accounts, custom configurations, etc)

Ye, you are right about apps data restore ... but camera works perfectly without flashing anything , even camera mod that was restored from backup ...
