Av-in and tv tuner - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Yesterday i receive a new T2 tv tuner.
Carefully complete the installation and I finally connect the av cables on av in and audio in ports of my unit.
I use the avin.app as preinstall application but there is a huge ! In my screen. When i switch cable from video in to f-cam in i open the f-cam and tv tuner works fine but without sound.
Is there any app which can recognise the av in port? Or something else i can do?

[Q] USB Speakers - Is it Possible

Hi guys I was wondering if it was possible to get the transformer to output music through the USB ports. I have a set of portable Creative speakers which have great sound and would love to use them with the transformer. They are powered and receive audio from USB
It is very possible, but you'd ave to add the device modules (drivers for the device) to the kernel yourself because it isn't native. I've been trying to get USB headphones working for a while.. :/

Got work usb audio on tf101 with CM10. Just kernel modules for usb audio are not enough to get sound from apps to be routed through the DAC. It's also needed to patch vertana audio driver.
I know it's been a long time but I just got around to rooting my TF101 and actually enjoying it. Has anyone done anything similar with speakers or headphones

Lollipop - Any Improvements?
Has anyone been able to get USB Audio working in a Lollipop ROM given the improvements to USB host?
So far, no luck for me:
KatKiss Lollipop 5.1 #21 ROM
JBL Pebbles USB Speakers connected to the dock
My tablet recognizes there is a USB audio device as the audio stops after connecting.
Also, disabling auto routing of audio to USB audio devices does what it supposed to do - so detection works.
Connecting the headphones out to the aux in of the USB speaker didn't work. Tablet speakers shut off but no sound in the USB speakers.
I could get it to work is powering the speakers from an AC charger and using the tablet headphone out to it.
Also, USB Audio Tester app works in that it can detect the USB device and it was able to play audio out of it (tested via connecting int mic to ext speaker mode and raising the volume bars).
To my understanding from the developer's description, that app uses non-standard interface to output USB audio.
The speakers work fine on Windows and Chrome OS without drivers so I was hoping it was plug and play.
Update:
I did note that I had to raise the in-app playback control volume bars first though to work in USB Audio Tester app.
Also, when connected to a computer and using the Aux In of the speakers, my phones and tablet can play audio.
Based on power draw of a USB charger I connected, the speakers use 0.6W idle and about 1W max.
Therefore, I'm thinking maybe it fails the USB enumeration in Android and the default 100mA is not enough.
Anyone know how to check the USB host enumeration settings?

Since we are talking about USB HOST, maybe it's important to use USB OTG cable, I reckon, as not all USB cables are equal. This has just recently struck me, because I used USB cable that came with my soundcard the other day. Its of great quality, sure, but I'm almost positive it's not OTG. My audiocard is externally powered, so on the other hand it might be just unimportant in my case...
USB Speakers of all sorts have generic DACs in them that require no special drivers and have to work out of the box on any system as long as USB connection and standard USB functionality are intact. Success stories of USB Audio working under Lollipop are rather abundant.
If USB Audio Tester works for you then USB Audio Player PRO should too, those are made by the same guys AFAICT. UAPP is no free app though, costs a sum, and sadly its proprietary driver(yeah, those devs apps use "non-standard interface") only works inside the program, one cannot watch Youtube or MX Player by using that... Compatibility list is on the devs site. My card, E-MU 0404 USB is listed as compatible for only RECORDING, not playback. Heck, I'm absolutely certain, I saw someone on some forum claiming they got same card totally working under UAPP and that wasn't even on Lollipop! Anyway, my trial and error continues...
I don't have a USB OTG cable for the TF101.
Instead, I'm using the keyboard dock that provides two USB ports.
It should be the same thing.
It is very good to hear that USB audio is working for a lot of people on Lollipop.
I've tried testing my speakers on more Android devices - my Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S.
Like the TF101, the speakers are detected as the OS switches over (no more audio out of built in speakers) but no sound out of the speakers themselves.
I'm leaning towards these speakers are not compatible with Android yet.
Sigh - non-standard standards.

HMDI connected Android TV Box

Hi folks,
I´m not quit sure if it is an Android problem or a problem with my box.
When I switch off the TV when the box is connected via HMDI the box goes "off" (switching off sound for example) is there a way or setting to keep it on? So I can switch off TV and keep spotify for example on?
Yes!

Yes! I use my Chromecast in this way. What you need is an HDMI pass through device, like a stereo tuner. I have both a Chromecast and Roku dongle plugged into the HDMI ports on my tuner (it has a total of 4 hdmi ports) . A single HDMI cable then runs from the tuner to the TV. The sound comes out of my stereo speakers, not the tv, and I use the stereo's remote control to switch inputs (the TV itself is never changed from its HDMI1 input). This allows me to listen to the audio without having the TV turned on. Tuners with HDMI pass through can be expensive, but I got lucky and found one, virtually brand new with 4 HDMI inputs, at my local Good Will for $65. And if you're into cord cutting, check out my website at cablegobyebye.com

I found a solution which might work. You need to "block" pin 19 from HDMI which reports powersaving / energy modes. I just need to try it at home

[Completed] Firestick and Audio

I have an old Sanyo TV with 3 HDMI ports. When I installed the Firestick, it worked perfectly, except for the Audio. The instructions say to use Audio 3, but when I switch the audio input cables to Audio 3, the cable tv show that is on sounds through my TV, but I can't hear sound from the videos from Netflix or Hulu. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks!
Hi !
It may be a Netflix issue , the app isn`t properly working on certain devices

[HELP] No sound input after connecting webcam to Android TV

I want to use my Android TV box for video call apps such as Viber or Skype. I have successfully connected my BC&IT A2 webcam to the Android TV box named AmiBox X96 MAX S905X using USB 2.0 port. Video input works well, but unfortunately audio input doesn't works.
The webcam works as expected when connected to the PC.
Did you ever found a way to make this work?
Googling for a while and still could not find a way to make this work for me
I could use UVC webcam with Google Duo on MIBOX(Android TV 9) several weeks ago, but it nolonger work after a system update.

LG CM2440 audio over USB AOA2.0 plays only one minute

I have a LG CM2440 micro hifi system that can play audio from an Android phone over USB using AOA2.0. I'm trying to use this feature and it plays fine but only 1 or 2 minutes and then goes silent. On the phone the app playing somehow freezes for a while and then continues without audio until USB is unplugged or playback paused and resumed. Anyone had a similar issue? I tested two phones and both behave the same so I belive it is the hifi system. I see nothing to tweak in regards to AOA2.0 in the hifi system or in the phones. Is there some secret menu that would allow to tweak AOA2.0?
Thank you!
Sounds like power management is shutting it down. Not sure what LG is using globally for that. Start there and make sure the app(s) battery setting is set to allow background usage.
I don't let it sleep and it plays fine when not plugged to USB. I think not likely to be power management.
Is there some way to test the AOA USB audio besides the hifi system? Some way to have a PC behave like an audio endpoint?

I doubt it's hardware unless the DAC you're using is incompatible or defective. You can transfer large folders to the PC? Either a settings or firmware issue, more likely settings.
Maybe a bad 3rd party app. May have altered hidden user settings even if it was uninstalled.
You want verification? Factory reset would rule out a settings issue including hidden settings.
However if you don't find the root cause (and avoid it) it likely will reoccur.
Play with it. Google search for others with the same issue, doesn't necessarily have to be the same model or OS version.
Thank you for suggesting!
Yes, I tried that, phone freshly reset behaves the same. Two different phones behave the same. I googled but find nothing relevant.
The USB connection remains operative because even when the audio fails the player still responds to the hifi buttons (play, stop... the player in the phone can be controlled by the buttons in the hifi system).
I opened the hifi system to see the route of the signal, the USB plug goes to a BX8805 IC that looks like an ARM processor and it outputs a PWM signal to the amplifier. Nothing to do there, likely a firmware issue. Maybe I could try some ADB debug but not sure how could I attach the phone USB to a PC and the hifi system at the same time.
USB playback apparently not fixable so I will stick with bluetooth playback (it seems to me that USB playback sounds better).
For future reference after some investigation I found the following "LG bluetooth remote" app that works properly. This app allows control of the hifi system from the phone.
Free download btc 4 APK for Android
Download free LG Bluetooth Remote 4 1.3 for your Android phone or tablet, file size: 7.35 MB, was updated 2017/30/06 Requirements:android: 2.3.3 Gingerbread or above
apk.house
File name: LG_Bluetooth_Remote_4-1.3.apk
It is no longer available on google play but can be downloaded and installed enabling external sources. All functions that are supposed to work do work!
On Google play there is a LG XBOOM app that does not work very well with this hifi. Volume control broken (goes to MAX), missing equalizer option and hangs when CD or USB functions selected.
