[Solved] Sprint Galaxy s5 flashed incompatible custom recovery - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I accidentally flashed an incompatible custom recovery to my Samsung galaxy s5 sm-g900p and it is stuck trying to boot to it and it starts up then bootloops and repeat. I have tried pulling out the battery and leaving it and the sim and SD card out of the phone for at least 1 hour and it continues to attempt to boot into recovery. I cannot boot the phone into download mode to flash the stock recovery to the phone, I looked on other threads for any solution and I have yet to see one with my particular problem.
I cannot take this to a sprint store to see if i can get it fixed as this phone was a gift and I don't have a sprint wireless plan. I want to be able too keep my apps and data on the phone without formatting it.
I am running a Magisk rooted, deodexed stock android 6.0.1 sprint galaxy s5 rom.
Edit: I got the phone to boot into download mode by pulling out the battery, sim, and SD card and leaving them out for 10 minutes and pressing the Volume Down + Home + Power and I got it into download mode hopes this helps anyone else!

when this happens, you just need to hold the pwr, vol - and home button releasing the home button whenever it starts to boot. It could easily take 5 or 6 rounds of doing this until it gets to download mode, but itll eventually get there. No need to pull the sim or battery nor wait any amount of time

[Q] Bootloader Loop. Help.

Okay so this is what happened. I had CM10.1 installed on my sgs3 (verizon). I followed this guys method to make my phone like i just picked it up from the store. Then i update to the latest version of android. After that i figured i would root it. The thing is that i somehow mest up while rooting it and my recovery mode didnt work so i used this method again
and now my phone is stuck on the inital boot sequence. Help me please. I didnt realize that your phone had to be rooted to use that method. the first time it worked fine. then the second time i forgot that that process unrooted my phone and did that method anyways.
Pull Battery.
Wait 30s
Leaving device Off,
Enter into Recovery mode by -
Holding 3 buttons at one time:

What I did was the same as above followed by vol down.. otherwise it went back to bootloader odin mode (stuck). I also deleted odin for whatever effect that could have had. Then I flashed a new rom with twrp.
Power, Home & Vol up gets you into Recovery mode.
Power, Home & Vol down gets you into Bootloader.
Glad you got it working

[Completed] Galaxy s5 wont boot words show up flash read failure there is no pit binary- bootloop

Hey everyone,
Samsung Galaxy s5
Verizon
Fully stock as of October 10th 2015 (no sure the exact android operating system)
Not rooted or modified in any way
My wife's phone decided to kill itself yesterday. The phone worked fine in the morning then all of a sudden it stopped working. When you try to start the phone it will vibrate and nothing on screen shows up. After about 57 seconds (yes I timed it), the phone quickly displays:
ODIN: Flash read failure
ERROR: There is no pit binary
The phone then goes into a boot loop and repeats this process.
She did not approve any updates or anything, it just happened. I am assuming an app updated itself and the app was majorly corrupted and messed with the kernel?
I have tried the variety of reset options (hold power+Volume up+home screen) and it does nothing. Removing the battery and reinserting it does nothing as well. I tried to boot without the SD card and we get the same results. I can't get the phone into the menu to select recovery or anything.
When I plug the phone into my computer nothing happens. The computer does not recognize it and the phone does not respond. The phone does charge the battery, how do I know? I as well have a galaxy s5 but mine is on ATT. We swapped batteries and we could see that her phone was charging the battery.
I plugged my phone into my computer and it recognizes immediately. I can get into my phone and the SD card from the computer so that rules out the computer as a problem.
Is this hard or soft bricked?
Will a USB Jig force it to give me the download screen or recovery mode or is this thing dead?
Is there a way I can boot from the SD card even though I cant get into the recovery screen?

Sorry for the late response.
It's a strange issue. If you really have changed/flashed/updated nothing, you should first claim warranty (if still available) and send it for repair to the shop/Verzion/Samsung support.
If no warranty, then you may register on xda and ask in the Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum ...
... but if you can boot neither into download mode (Hold Volume DOWN + HOME + POWER) nor into recovery mode (Hold Volume UP + HOME + POWER), it sounds like a hard-brick.
It could also be a screen issue ... but most likely nothing you can fix yourself ... without additional hardware and/or help.
So I recommend to search for a mobile repair/support shop.
Good luck !

Try using the button combo to reboot. Hold down power+volume up+volume down and see if it will reboot.
If it fails to boot into the OS I'd try to flash back to the stock firmware using all of the Odin files.
Did the Samfail process in ODIN fail or did the phone fail during boot?
Either way you should be okay. However if you can't get it to flash back to stock you may have bricked it, at least a softbrick.

I have 2 Note 8's that I have somehow managed to achieve soft bricks on, on the Sprint variant and the other AT&T, I have researched and odin is failing everytime on both of them is there anything anyone has figured out? It says "model mismatch fail" when flashing with odin on each phone, on is a pet project the other is a customer's. Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Yes, BlueFox721 has posted the correct method to get out of upload/cp-crash or some other semi-bricked mode.
To recap it, keep holding down Vol Down + Power buttons only, until you see the screen starts rebooting, then release both buttons. Sometimes the reboot may take up to a few minutes, and make sure that the battery is charged at least 50%, otherwise it will fail.
If it keeps booting back into upload/cp-crash or some other weird mode, then hold down the above buttons again, but this time as soon as you see the reboot, do not release them but also quickly hold down the BIXBY button along with first two, which should kick you into download mode (or use a download jig). Then re-flash with full stock firmware using Odin. You may have to try both the normal and patched versions, sometimes it works with the first or the other (when you see a model fail error).

The less than 100% battery charging issue could be caused by several reasons, here they are:
1. The phone was flashed with an eng-boot/kernel which has a charge limitation built in. To fix it, reflash with full stock firmware.
2. The battery may have weakened or about to go bad (check the voltage and capacity with a multi meter first). To fix it, replace the battery.
3. The charging circuit may have gotten damaged from an over-current spike, or the port has been physically damaged either mechanically or by liquid damage.
To fix it, you can try replacing the small circuit board along with the port, or perform the world famous "BillA Bypass" (lol), whereby I physically modify the main circuit board to force charge the battery by bypassing the charging circuit entirely.
Or just refresh samFAILure that's what I did
I am having the same issue now and none of thesse solutions are working. I held the download buttons for over 30 minutes and tried adding the bixby button too but it just returns back to Upload mode Unknow error. Please help?

Can you at least boot into download mode in order to reflash the files? Can you even get into recovery mode or anything? What happens when you hold the volume down button and the power button until the phone turns off? Try holding the volume down button and the power button and as soon as the phone shuts off let both of those buttons go and then hold only the volume up button and see what happens.
Nope, the only thing that occurs is the screen shuts off then goes back Upload mode: Unknow error. I even tried UBreakFix store and they couldn't fix it either. It won't go to recovery mode or Download mode at all.

If it was mine I would try flashing something while it's in upload mode just to see what would happen.. Other than that, it sounds like the phone's done for. Maybe it's internal memory quit working?

i am also on this situation can anyone help me with that my phone is recognized in odin whein am stucked in upload mode
If you get to the upload mode screen, press volume down + power buttons until the upload mode screen shuts down (screen goes black). IMMEDIATELY press volume up + bixby + power buttons and keep pressing until you see recovery screen

phone not booting, charging, doing anything

So I had a rooted samsung galaxy s8+ with magisk on android noughat and I wanted to update it to oreo, so I updated it using Samsung Switch, but then my apps started to crash a lot and it seemed like it wasnt rooted anymore (all my root apps were not working and event magisk was saying that it was not rooted). So I made a factory reset, run TWRP and tried to run the magisk root again, but then i got a bootloop. After that i tried to run firmware which i found on pangu.in in odin (I basically just followed this video "How to Fix Boot Loop || Stuck on Samsung logo S8 plus Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus review" on YT) and than it frosed in samsung loading screen for about 15min and after that i hard reseted it and since than the phone is completly not doing anything. Is there any solution to this, or i just completly destroyed my phone? I tryied every possible key combinations, but neither of them is doing anything.
Have you tried holding Power + Volume Down for 10-15 (maybe more) seconds? simulates a battery removal. Worked for me when phone seemed unresponsive.

power + vol up + bixby
If there is any other combiantion that could work, i would be really thankful for it.

Yes I have, how can that be done?
Btw. I realy dont know how, but few minutes ago I just randomly tried to turn it on and I managed to get into download mode (after about 1000 tries). Unfortunatelly the phone turned off again before I managed to ge to the computer and run Odin. But I might keep trying to boot it into download mode and this time be prepared to put a new firmware into it.

Sorry missed you can't get into recovery.
So I somehow managed to get into download mode and i wanted to flash new firmware, but it got stuck on sboot.bin.lz4 (apparently it was bcs of outdated odin), so i restarted it and since than everytime I try to charge it, it shows loading screen and I still cant do anything (go to recovery mode or download mode). When I unplug the charger it again turns off and I still cant do anything. This is really weird.
It would seem like your phone needs charging, low charge would seem consistent with it switching off when charger not connected.
Suggest leaving on charge for 60 to 90 minutes then try previously given advice.

[NEED HELP] Bricked my phone with low chance of any recovery

I need help urgently. I tried to change the splash screen of my Samsung Galaxy A51. I downloaded a custom param tar file, placed it in my downloads folder and used this command in adb shell to replace the older one. I did back up my old param. But there's no way I can restore it. Now, my phone when I try to start it. It doesn't even seem to turn on the screen anymore. I hear the phone vibrating every 2 seconds so I assume it keeps rebooting. I tried to enter download mode but I can't because samsung made it that you need to go into the recovery first, so I tried to go into the recovery but nope, it keeps vibrating and it's not responding to whatever I do. Is there still any hope for my phone? Thanks in advance.
Hello, I had this problem too. My phone also stopped booting into anything, even in TWRP.
For me, the resolve was to make the phone force reboot by holding power button and volume down, then immediately try to enter the downloading mode by holding volume buttons, when the screen turns off
and then you need to flash your device with your stock ROM
I understand you, that you cannot enter the recovery, but for me this method worked
I managed to solve it, the problem I had was that I was unable to boot into download mode. Because I have a samsung galaxy a51 and I did not know how to enter it. The last phone I had was a samsung galaxy s7 edge, back in the old days it was easy to enter download mode, just hold volume down, power button and home button. Now for some reason I need a cable connected to my computer and then hold volume up and down simultaneously. After I figured out how to enter download mode I flashed stock rom and phone worked again.
