My phone seems to be dead - screen is blacked out no matter what, no sound and it seem you cant get any kind of response from the phone. by that I mean that I have tried all the available resets- factory reset, safe mode and every other one I could find.
Although, the red light near the right corner can be turned on by pressing the volume and start button somehow and it can last while not charging the phone which should take the battery out of the equation.
Is there anything else I can do ? Are you familiar with the situation ?
Thanks for any help!
Same happened to me yesterday, contacted Asus Shop Germany , got an RMA and will send it in . How did you resolve your problem ? Got a new phone ?

Hello everybody,
so I bought an Infinity Pad here in Germany and it came today. First it wont start, but after a little bit of charging it started and I played a little bit with my Pad, installed some Apps an saw a notification about a firmware update. So I updated my Infinity Pad, but after the restart message the screen stayed black.
I've now been trying to restart it, but only after 10-12 seconds it vibrates for a moment, but there is still no video. If i press power and volume down there is the same issue. Pressing the reset button for a second or 30 didnt fix the problem. The charging LED is orange. I tried with or without the dock, but this wont help.
So I hope you can help me, because i dont want to send it back after 2 hours of "fun"...
So the charging LED is now green, but theres still no reaction except the vibration.
Unfortunately, it sounds to me like you will have to exchange it. Try calling ASUS technical support first perhaps.
By any chance have you tried the pin hole reset?
There's a tiny hole above the HDMI port...see if that does anything.

Hi, I just received my new infinity from USA (I'm in Vietnam). At the beginning, I can't turn it on althought the led is green when I plug it in. Even I hold the power button for very long time or reset it, it doesn't work at all. I've brought it to the service center in Vietnam for support, they told me that they had to open it to check. I'm confused that after they open it, I couldn't change the new one. So what should I do? I've never heard or read abt my case before. Thanks everyone

You said you couldn't exchange for another one? You still have warranty from Asus, give them a call and they will exchange another one for you. Don't let any back yark mechanic open up your device and void the warranty.
Hello, today my phone keeps rebooting for no reason. It just reboots immediately after the Google logo shows up or during the flying balls animation. Once in a while it will be able to start, but then back to reboot loop very soon. I can't even use the "Volume down + Power" screen (sorry I forgot what it's called) because the phone will restart immediately.
I didn't install any new app today. My phone is unrooted and is on Lollipop 5.0.1. Bought it used last week after I hardbricked my Moto G.
Please tell me this is fixable. My Moto G is still lying in front of me. The Nexus better not join its brother.
I got the same problem here, all of a sudden it turned off and began this incredibly fast boot loop, I can't enter recovery mode because the fastboot screen goes off as soon as it appears. I'll try to figure something out and come back here. Thanks
I recently installed Lollipop 5.0.1 so it might be something with it too
Thanks. Please tell me as soon as you find the problem. I hope it's just a software (particularly Lollipop) problem and is fixable. It's incredibly frustrating to see 2 phones go down in a 2-week span. **** my life.
ok, so my phone turned on and I actually was able to use it for a while, until I slightly touched the power button (but didn't actually click or even apply force on it) and then the problem occured. So it's either that the power button became overly sensitive or a sensor malfunctioned (I'm a noob so forgive me if I sounded silly).

So, I was looking for answers and figured out it was a hardware problem, the internal power button was stuck. I saw some tutorials on how to disassembly the phone and managed to loose the button up a bit and now it's working fine. Sending it from the phone right now hahah
PS. I'm not a phone master or something, I saw the tutorial and got the motherboard out to fix the button, the worst part was unscrewing those tiny little screws, but it was kinda easy at the end.

That's good news. I don't have the tools to open the phone so I'll have to go to the repair shop next week. Please inform me if the problem somehow returns to you.
P.S: I'm actually gaming on it right now without problem, just gotta be careful not to touch the power button
Hello
The post is regarding the problems I've recently been facing with my phone, nexus 5.
I installed MM about a month ago and my nexus was working perfectly. However, after two weeks of the installation, my power button got extra sensitive and the phone would sometimes get into infinite rebote loops. I contacted Google and they said that it might be the faulty power button and asked me to factory reset. After factory reset the problem aggravated. In fact after two days of reset my phone would shut down and when I turn it on (through recovery) it will show Static noisy screen. Soon I figured out that if I allow my battery to deplet and attach it with charger, I can turn my phone on. However, as soon as i allow display to sleep, the problem begins again. When the phone sleeps, and I press the power button to wake it up, it shows noise.
So, I have increased the sleep time of my phone to help it stay alive for sometime while I look for a solution.
I would like to know, what according to you can be the problem? Is it the software or the display driver? Or is it the USB cable flex ( which can be the cause of problem as I read it somewhere)
I would be very grateful if you could guide and help me
Best regards.
Sidra
I am having the same issue. May I ask if you found a solution?
HI, I have the same problem....please can someone help us out here. Thanks
Sounds like it's the hardware causing the issue, not anything software/firmware. A new power button is extremely cheep off eBay (seriously, they sell them in bulk), so if you're not squeamish about opening your phone up, it might be worth the small cost for a new internal switch to see if this solves the issue. Go to ifixit.com for a teardown guide.
I got the following issue which has been confirmed by Samsung Service desk to be occur more often:
After power down (switching of) and start-up the screen stays blind//black. Phone seems to work (LED and sound notifications). Attaching to PC with USB phone is recognized as normal. Hard reset via power and volume down bottom (and home button) seems to work but still screen stays blind. Phone is now on its way for repair. Will keep updated once I got news.
Anyone else here has same problem? Cures? Root-cause?
no one?
I had the problem 4 months ago.
The screen went black a few times but always goes up after 10 minutes of pressing vol down + power button. But after a lot of time doing that, it finally went absolutely black like yours, and yes the phone was working cause I could hear my ringtone, see the led blinking and it vibrated sometimes.
Then they repaired it free of charge even if my knox was 0x1. I don't know if the issue is root related or not. I was rooted and on SuperMan Rom.
Hi thanks, for the reply. Mine is 100% original and being repaired currently. Not sure yet what the cause is but will share it once I got the feedback.
Cheers,
Steven
Update 28/11/2016: According to repair-shop it's the motherboard. Anyone else had issues like this?

When I had this issue, they told it was an issue with the motherboard and the lcd panel and they changed both according to the reparation report.

Not personally, but have read another one member at least, here having the same problem
Update 6-12: I'll get my phone returned this week. Apperently a faulty motherboard was the cause of this error. Samsung and it's official repair center where negatively in the news this week on a Dutch consumer program. Reason is not having enough OLED replacement screens so consumers are "forced" to buy a new one. [in Dutch: http://kassa.vara.nl/nieuws/reactie...eprocedure-van-beeldschermen-van-smartphones].
Hello, after screen replacement, mother board flex replacement, when I start the phone I have nothing on the screen running only a red and green light on the top of the phone. I have disconnected the battery and load again but still the same. I tried power and volume down or up but still the same problem. I try with other screen but the problem is still there. Some people can help me in the diag and solution to resove ?
Many thanks for your help
I maybe have the same problem on my BKL-L09, my phone just show the screen a split second and then it is black screen all the time. I started having these problems after I installed the latest magisk (The old v.17). And also, I can get to TWRP anymore, both official and unofficial TWRP. I'm guessing it's the internal partition problem (funkyhuawei's unbrick service shows all the partitions). I guess we just gonna have to wait for the Honor View 10 SP Flash Tool or something... (BTW, I already know the tool : https://forum.xda-developers.com/ho...ol-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3776736 but, it is not supported yet.) I hope someone does it fast and for free if possible, because we're community and if someone is having the same problem, we can easily help them. And that is what community does.
