Sorry here is different pic did not see the volume lo the original

So far the only issues I've had since the update is the Gestures not working, for some reason I had Google Messages replacing the stock app but texts would show up for a couple days in the stock pop up but reverted back to Google eventually, and I might be having an alarm issue but I'm still trying to figure it out. Oh, and some apps don't scale correctly when using the App Scaling settings, it worked properly on 8.0.

About 5 years later. I'm updating now

I'm running an unlocked LG G7 on T-Mobile and every time I check the update center it continues to say I have the latest version... even though I'm only on 8 and G710ULM10j. Any idea on how I can force the update somehow?

Update has gone! (It's back and solved)

I started the software updater earlier and sure enough it reported an update was available. I was going out so thought I'd do it tonight when I had more time and clicked cancel. I ran the updater again tonight (several times) but now all I get is the "current version is the latest version" message. wtf?

This happens all the time.
try take out your sim then restart phone, if not, try turn off your phone for 10min, then turn on and try again, if still nothing, try change time/date for your phone and wait about 15mins. if not, then try contact LG?
This update can be only done via wifi so your gonna want to switch on your wifi..
What i did to get it was switch wifi off then on..

not sure if it's actually true, first time when on my ex-Incredible S receiving OTA update, I was on mobile internet (3G) :/
Yes the wifi is on (I turned it off and on again too) and I'm on June 16th firmware and in the UK
It definitely gave me an update option this afternoon, but not now?
Maybe they found a problem with the July update and pulled it?

no, it won't, otherwise we all would be recommended to force back-up ours.
just try my methods, if not working, try update via PC with LG Support Tool, if it's unsuccesful, it should give you another go for update via OTA after couple hours.
Just tried again and the update was there again, I've downloaded it and its updating now. Maybe the servers were overloaded?
Pete
Edit.......now up and running again with the 8th July 2011 firmware update
Hows the stability, I am having some frustration with this update.
Some process went awol overnight, had 85% power when I went to bed, woke me up with the "phone turning off" sound as the battery had drained.
Tried using a third party camera app which worked on the June firmware, no picture on the July firmware. Tried a few times, got a picture once. Then tried to go back on the official camera app and the phone locked up with a black screen.
So generally I find the new firmware is awesome for 1080p video now, but a lot more unstable. I'm hoping we will get another update next month addressing these issues and hopefully improving still photo quality.
I just hope the Android 2.3 update does not cause any regression of problems once its out, although I suspect these improvements are somewhat a gradual upgrade to what 2.3 will have (none base OS components) to ready the phone for 2.3.
It already looks like it has the 2.3 kernel based on what I read the kernel versions were supposed to be for each Android release.
Just tried to update the wife's phone, same result, no update! This is a pita, I'll try again later. Not had chance to test the update yet, I'll see how it behaves today.

It will take a little bit for marketplace to let you know about updates but when it does, it'll be large (I had 18 updates come through). Sometimes plugging into Zune makes the app update notification move faster.

Agree with you,my mozart has stopped fetching the updates from marketplace for months...everytime i have do it manually,go into the apps i bought and press share and press back, then the updates will appear. Last time, connecting my device to Zune still works, but now it looks like it is not.
few weeks ago,i connected my device to zune,it also showing 13 updates to me.
this situation is so frustrating, hope microsoft can solve this out....god...as the apps installed on my device is increasing, the manual update thingy, not gonna work soon. Its so damn tired...
Ok! Thanks for the replies! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't alone on this...
Anyway! Mango rocks!!! Still missing features but overall they did a good job!
just got mango update via notification.
no update notes for me yet either and if i look i cant see any... just share...
only one that had the option was samsung now and that is broken and wont update.

Ahh goodo. I'll just leave it for a day or so before doing anything drastic like re-installing them then!
How long did the process of gettin app update notifications take for everyone?
I updated mine around 15 hours ago now and i've still had no notifications. I've been able to go in and "force" an update to check that it will actually work (had to go into the app, press back then re-open it).
Checking the versions of apps i have installed there are a number that are in need of updating.
Everything else is working fine, live tiles, push email, facebook chat etc.. all working well.
Just worried i'm not getting any... people seem to say wait a bit but surely not over 24 hours?
Thanks!
I've had this problem for ages (running HTC Mango RUU) but thought it was just me. I've posted in different forums but no-one seemed to have the same problem.
Two days after installing Mango I had 5 updates for the HTC apps already installed on my phone.
A week after that I got one for Accuweather and then last week I got one for TuneIn radio.
During this time I've manually updated apps such as Flickr and HTC Hub.
It's a bit crap really as the update notifications used to be really quick but now it takes ages.

Same thing here then... I used to get pretty snappy app updates. I don't really want to have to trawl through my installed apps periodicly to see if an update is available :|
Hopefuly it's just something to do with marketplace being busy due to the updates...
Ok - Maybe my impateince?
They've just come through, got 13 updates pending! :s
I guess the network is just busy at the moment!

Sprint software update

After doing some digging I see there is a new LS996ZV5 update. I am rooted so have not gotten any OTA notifications. Has anyone gotten it and does it help with lag and battery?
My phone seems pretty snappy as is but always want the latest if possible.
Guess one last thing. What are thoughts on timetable of custom recovery and maybe some rooted roms for us Sprint users?
Any discussion welcome!

Got the update OTA this morning (I am stock). Phone is absolutely flying now.
Not sure on battery life yet as it's only been a couple of hours since I updated.
I unrooted and took the system update. It wasn't the new firmware though. Not sure what it was. I tried to have phone look for firmware update afterwards and it didn't show the new one yet.

I'm rooted and received the android system update notification this morning. Should I proceed, or is that a bad idea if rooted?

it won't work while rooted, i've tried, twice. i'm waiting on the update prompt again to try my next thing, but if you want to try it feel free. if you open up superuser and go to the settings there is an option to fully unroot the device, its towards the bottom. After you do that restart and then try and apply the update.
let me know if it works! hopefully i get the update prompt again in the morning and will finally be able to get this thing updated!!!!
So curious as to what this update was. All I know is that today my battery life isn't nearly as good. Normally after working for 8hrs my phone is around 75%... Today it was at 40%... Massive difference and i did nothing out of the ordinary
That sounds like my phone, I've noticed that I Google services is using more battery than the screen recently.

My battery life has actually been really good. I was getting 15-20 hrs before the update and now I am getting 25-30 hours after. (Light use)
My battery seems pretty good also. Plus it does appear the widgets are loading faster and less jumpiness between screens. Rerooted after the update and all seems fine so far

i didn't get prompted with the update again this morning so i wasn't able to try anything to get my phone to update today. if someone hasn't applied the update yet but has the prompt would you be able to grab the update file and post it? i'll do the same if i get the update prompt again and nothing has been posted yet. at least that way we can try stuff without having to wait for it to decide to check for an update since the manual update check doesn't appear to do anything.....
Hmmmm. I guess I'll use GServiceFix app. See if that solves my issues
---------- Post added at 09:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:59 AM ----------
Yeah. Its the android system using the battery. Used this fix app before and it solved my problems. Hopefully its still reliable.
again this morning, no update prompt and the "check for update" function continues to say i'm up to date. because i had issues with my first two i signed up for sprint insurance. if i don't get prompted for the update by monday morning i'll stop in a sprint store and see if i can get it swapped again. only problem with that is chancing getting one that overheats or has a bad screen like my previous two did
i rooted and got the OTG upgrade message, and i try but it show error and said my device is rooted then can't upgrade software. Then i try to use "fully unroot" in supersu, the supersu gone, but the error still shown. do anyone know how to unroot and upgrade? thank you very much!

sorry, you are stuck there are a couple of other threads with further discussion on it but so far no one has been able to get the OTA to apply after they have rooted. some of us have been able to get new devices through sprint with having their insurance and play it off as the OTA won't update. they have had enough issues with the device they don't really question it.

Help! On screen buttons not working!
I really need help. I factory reset my LG G Flex 2 cause I wanted to erased my info and give it as a present to my father for his birthday next october 14 and now the onscreen buttons don't respond, only the back button, nor the multitasking or home button. I turned it off and on, reset it several times, cleared the partition cache or whatever it is called but no luck, mine is running LS996ZV5. It was perfect before the reset. I feel so bad. Thanks in advance for your help.

I just got the notification for the update, but I'm rooted, so I'll wait a bit...

That didn't go well. The update install process crashed, and now my phone won't boot past the LG screen. Factory reset does not work. The screen goes black about 15 seconds after starting reset.

Were you rooted at the time of the update?
Nope not rooted. After some research, I believe my phone suffered from the boot loop issue that some early production G4's have, and had nothing to do with the update. I contacted LG support and they are going service it and return it on their dime.
So I bought a Nexus 6p.?
Interestingly enough, other G4 user's that are local and on AT&T have gotten the notification for MM, but I haven't and nothing comes up as available from Update Center or on LG Bridge.
Any ideas why my phone is left out? Totally stock, non rooted.

Not sure exactly what the criteria, but it seems to be randomly allowing the update. I set my phone to a week in the future and checked again and it let me update the second time.

Do this. For me, today It said your phone is up to date. Then when I left my house, I got the update found message, connect to Wi-Fi to update. When I returned, it told me to try in 20 hours so by turning the clock forward a few days in the Date & Time section, sure enough, I am downloading the update now.

Try updating through the "about phone" settings page, I was rooted when I got the notice. AT&T sections out updates to keep load off their servers, sometimes it can take up to two weeks to a month before the update pushes to all users :/
Been there done that...No Updates Available.

Is your G4 unlocked? Are you on AT&T network?
I'm on AT&T's network, and it's locked.
Update- I got it to update itself to MM -- here's how I did it. I first flashed it to 10o from 10g using the Back to Stock/TOT Method from another thread. For whatever reason, my phone was 'stuck' on 10g, which prevented it from updating to anything newer. Once I flashed it to 10o, it instantly came up with 'An update is available', and downloaded the OTA for MM.

T-mobile update

Just got an update. June 1 security update. Fixed my FP sensor issue (had to push, release, then push again to recognize) but once again, auto brightness bug fix has been skipped. Ugh

Yes, it would not react to single touch. I would have to put my finger, release, and then put back for it to recognize. Now it's single touch like it was in the beginning.
Agreed. I received the update and the fingerprint sensor seems to be working better. The auto-brightness however.... WOW. it's terrible. Slow to react to changes in light, and dims far too much. They should add a way to control the dimming. Something like a percentage of the current profile they have e.g. maintain the max brightness, but if the coding would reduce brightness by 80%, then I would want to select a 50% setting, so the effective reduction in brightness would be only 40%. Trying to read my phone in a store or a restaurant is a royal pain. Who did the real-world testing of this functionality? Some cartoon character that has flashlights for eyeballs?
Anyone having issues sending or receiving MMS after the new update. I can reset my device and is okay for about an hour and then stops sending or receiving MMS messages. I have not wiped with this new update and that is my next step, just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this by chance.

Interesting, it had been on automatic from the time I got it and never had an issue. I did a reset and got it all set up and turned that off. My wife's phone we just turned that off and her issue has gone away as well. I remember reading about that DNS issue a while ago here, but never thought about it again since I never had an issue. It's a huge network flaw that T-Mobile has. You either have to turn private dns off, or use Google messages. Either one solved the problem
Well the update broke the floating bar mod that I had. No longer does the screen record, screenshot edit etc. Only has quick contacts. Anyone else?
I used to be able to video chat with my friend with a S9 phone, after the update , today she tried to video chat with me and she couldn't, I noticed the native Video chat icon is no longer on the contact , it now has the Duo Call instead. Ugh..
Update? My phone still says it's on the April 1st update.
Placebo effect for Fp sensor. Back to having to double touch before its recognized. ?
Anybody on the April 1st security software having 5g connectivity issues? I have been having issues for over a month and a half. Got them to send a new phone after factory reset and new sim didn't work. Got the new phone today and everything was working great until it updated to the April 1st security patch. It hasn't updated to the latest update yet, but I had that update on my previous device and the issue was persistent still even after. So something on that specific software is screwing up my 5G to where I can't use my phone unless I'm on Wi-Fi.

That's pretty much where I'm at. I'm having to run with no 5g. They sent me a new phone again, and when it arrives I'm going to try to avoid the update for as long as possible.

Does anyone have KDZ file of latest firmware (10R)?
I can not perform OTA update.
Mine would also not pull down the OTA. I had to use LGUP.
