Any word on the Note 10 having the ceramic back like the S10+? - Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Questions & Answers

I was curious if any of the leaks have suggested the back will be ceramic, I really liked having that as opposed to the Gorilla Glass.

Yes ceramic is the best!
If it follows the S10+ I'd say the 512GB and 1TB versions. 1TB version with 12GB RAM. The Snapdragon 855+ being announced, it would be a nice surprise if the highest end variety had 16GB RAM. Entirely overkill obviously. And the price. Better have a spare kidney ready!

Yeah, I'd say all that would put the price into the stratosphere. The top spec S10+ was $1600 before tax. Which would probably put a ceramic Note over $1800.

OnePlus 6 Price

What do you think? How much will it cost? Share your opinions on all models!
Current prices: 520€ for 6/64 modell, 570€ for 8/128 modell.
The 256GB one could be the Avangers Edition, but no info/price yet.
EDIT: Yeah, this thread is a discussion... Sorry -_- If any mod sees this, please move it. Thanks.
Hope they have a couple of varients.I imagine the 8/256gb varient will be fairly expensive so hoping for maybe 8/128gb.
Will only buy if it is around €550.
Hope they wil announce it early this year

I read somewhere that the base (6/64) variant will be ~530€.
But elsewhere i saw 600€+ for the base variant so hope the best
$529 (6/64)
$579 (8/128)
$629 (8/256)
OP1: $300
OP2: $330 +30
OP3: $400 +70
OP3T: $440 +40
OP5: $480 +40
OP5T: $500 +20
I's guess a price around $540 or $550 for base model based off of how it's been going.
It is very simple: If they price it too high people won't buy it. They used to make "flagship killers", but if they get the price even higher with this model, the flagship killer concept actually dies, because it will reach the flagship price. On the other hand, the average OnePlus user has become much more greedier, we want all flagship features possible, stellar cameras, high-res displays, but we are not willing to pay. It's kinda hard for OnePlus to make everyone happy.
if they ask for €600 there will be better options to buy.
Even the note 8 can be found around €650 now

Yeah, good price would be under 600€
I am absolutly happy with my OP5, had the OPO and OPT before, and the amount of money to purchase has been grown up to my personal limit.
500 bucks for a flagship killer is ok, but more....it would be a flagship and nothing different with others.
The community and the developer scene here on XDA is one argument to stay, but we'll see...

We don't know the price of the OP6 yet.
Of course it will be a better phone than the Mi Mix 2S (hp jack, oled display over ips, better default OS imo, but with notch), but if the price is too high, go for the Mix 2S.
EDIT: I have been seeing rumors for two days saying that the price for the base modell will be ~530€.
+ The Chinese release for OP6 is 5th May. (This is also a rumor)

Are you positive OP6 will have oled screen?
Rumor is that OP6 DXO Mark score is in the triple digits.
IMO this is going to cost at least €600 for the base model. Which will render it a pretty unattractive proposition to any informed consumer, as by the time it's out an S9 should be available for under €600 (can already be had for €630ish).
But then, they've built the brand, and some people will stick with it. Even though this is just going to be a very overpriced Oppo R15 with a SD845.
Still, it should be a significantly better phone than the 5 / 5T, if the R15 (& Pro) are anything to go by.
If you like the look of it, and you don't play mobile games, you should probably save yourself €150 and buy an R15 Pro, or the R15 if you don't mind the MT SoC. It'll be marginally slower, but have better battery life.

Probably $799 for base model. $899 OR $999 for 8GB/512GB variant.
If Asus can sell the Zenfone 5z for $599 I think $799 is about right for the ROG. Remember, they need to SELL units. No one will buy when the price is significantly higher than the Black Shark's or Razer.

I think it's great for gamers, and anyone else that just wants a dope phone all the way around. MKBHD said about the Razer Phone, "the idea making gaming as good as possible, but as it turns out, a lot of those things also make for, pretty great, everyday use too," and I agree.

I feel like the Zenfone 5Z may be $500 or $550, only because they did say it'd be about $500. I think the 256GB model would be around $600 however.
I'm looking at it being between $800 to $999. I have heard that the ROG line is pretty expensive, and I looked it up, and it is. So I do expected it to be towards the later, than the former. But if they can get it at $999 for the 512GB model, it's a sure buy for me. I looked at their official website and it has EVERYTHING. It didn't miss anything I've ever wanted, and I feel like it's a real superphone. It also has the same camera in the 5 and 5z, which was rated very well my DxoMark, and I have checked out real world results, and they were great.
Wish it had a micro sd card.
I am in the market for a phone and this one certainly has my attention. Currently between the Sony Xperia XZ2, OnePlus 6, and this Asus ROG. Maybe by Black Friday all the phones will be available, unlocked, and rooted!!

Who is getting one?

Not much hype around here yet but I'm getting excited. I've been strictly OnePlus 8 pro for the last 2 months or so and am ready to move on. I hope this is a worthwhile upgrade fror my Note 10 Plus or I'll hold out for the fold 2 this year. The next pixel is a no go with the slower processor and I'm sure they haven't improved storage capacity either. Such a shame.
As long as they offer solid trade in value for my Note 10+ I'm getting it.
I am expecting (hoping) for at least $600 in trade for my S20 Ultra. Assuming that happens, I will be buying a new Note 20 Ultra - Pre-Order and can't wait.
In all honesty, the bugs that the S20 Ultra Camera had (focus) are pretty much behind me now and the the S20 Ultra has been an awesome phone - but based on what I hear and have read, the new Note 20 Ultra will be a decent upgrade. Looking forward to seeing the Roll Out -
Nah, I'm getting Pixel 4a this time around to be my daily runner and I'll keep my N10+ for heavier tasks until the Note gets integrated 5G system so, probably 'til 2021/22.
Right now 5G is still not much relevant in my area, why pay more for unneeded hardware? I'm very happy now with Note 10+, after that annoying hit-or-miss fp sensor problem got resolved. Ironically, that problem wasn't fixed by Samsung but rather by inquisitive user – kudos to him/her.
Actually am getting very excited about that Pixel 4a, it has all the goodies I need and for only $350, like NFC, headphones jack and also Titan M Security Module, good camera/processing etc. A good pocket phone, something I really miss since I've had S10e before N10+. Similar overall size to 10e, plastic is fine with me for a pocket phone.
As long as I keep it in front, not the back pocket)

I've heard about the Duo getting the 855 too (MAYBE the "+"?) either way, IMO MOST people would be really hard pressed to be able to tell a difference between the 2, if they aren't sitting in a side by side comparison. I think the biggest difference that will absolutely be noticeable, is the 120hz display on the N20U. I'm really looking forward to seeing that.
I think the Duo is an amazing concept that gets away from the form factor that is not really changing too much any longer. It's a refreshing change in direction and isn't a Galaxy Fold
Edit - Some rumors are saying that the device may ship with the 865
I'm getting one. But what about all these half/value tradein offers? Are any of those worth it rather than buying up front? I got burned by diminishing value on Samsung products years ago but they seem to hold value pretty well now.
I was really hoping the Note Ultra would fix what the S20 Ultra couldn't, being able to use WQHD+ with 120hz. Thats really a let down and kinda makes me want to skip this year.
Just pre-ordered Unlocked White 128GB Ultra
I was on a Note 9 and am a Veteran. I just preordered the Copper rather than the glossy Black. Samsung offered a $550 trade in on the Note 9 plus $200 in freebie accessories . I'll get the new buds and a case. It was too good for me to pass up. I just hope it isn't a dud like the Note 7.

You arent actually buying anything, you dont enter any credit card info. This simply adds you to an email chain for tomorrows pre-order.
I put my preorder in for the White 128 but I may be hard pressed to make it my DD. I LOVE face unlock on my Pixel 4 XL and all the other Googly things that come with the Pixel phone. My Note 10+ got very little time with the SIM card in it after I bought the Pixel last fall. I do like the larger canvas of the Note, maybe the latest rumors are true and Google might release a large screen premium phone later in the year?

Samsung trained to fool...

Went to the stores to finalize my pre order and apart from them trying to up sell, I just noticed that they'er selling, for 1250 dollars, 256gb variant with only 8GB RAM. This is very very strange. My note 10 plus came in a lot less at more RAM, If getting stuck with Exynos wasn't bad enough, they go ahead and pull off this stunt.
And before anyone says 8GB is plenty, my Note 10plus is always using 8.5gb and providing flawless multi tasking regardless of being Exynos....so if I'm paying 1250, I want more. This is BS. Not to mention they sneakingly don't mention any of this on their website at Samsung even when you're at the checkout page.
Only the 1350 bucks shows 12GB RAM.....insane they stoop to this level charging a premium.
reviews and even samsung have stated the cpu and such operate more efficiently so will use less ram.
you don't have to buy the device, no need to bash or complain about the cost. it will matter not. im walking away with the 512 unlocked version, with buds and watch 3 for 1200 dollars

Question Disappointing U.S. trade-in offers for S22 Ultra to upgrade to S23 Ultra

Last year, when I traded in my Galaxy S21 Ultra to get an unlocked Galaxy S22 Ultra on Samsung.com, I got a $1,000 trade-in pre-order deal, which meant I only paid about $250 for my Galaxy Ultra S22. The S23 series was just announced, so I looked at the Samsung site to see what trade-in deals they had for an unlocked S23 Ultra. Pretty underwhelming. Only $500 for an S22 Ultra, which would bring the cost to about $700. Sure, you get 512 GB for the price of 256 GB, but I don't really care about that (256 GB is plenty for me). If I could upgrade to S23 Ultra for about $250 to $300, I'd pre-order it in a heartbeat, but not at $700.
Bummer! (I know, first-world "problem"... ).

If you're ordering from the US, there's an additional $500 instant discount, not sure if this is available in other countries or, how long the offer is in effect.
I guess it's Samsung's way of pushing people to pull the trigger, FOMO on the $500 instant discount. Yeah, I agree, those trade in offers on their own are pathetic, you're better off checking out a carrier model vs unlocked direct from Samsung.
If you want 12GB RAM, moving up to the 512GB (or 1TB) storage option is necessary, as the 256GB storage option only has 8GB RAM.
No kidding. This really pissed me off. I thought I had missed something. Now not so sure I will switch up.

It'll be applied once you select color/storage/trade-in. (on unlocked models only, you'll see the message right above where you select Yes/No for trade-in). The carrier models have a different trade-in allowance, you'll see different messaging in the same spot.

It's the same $500 trade in price that they're referring as "total instant credit". There's no additional $500 discount other than the trade in discount reflected in the pre tax price.
it is really amusing for me to read about people complaining about things as op does, I have always paid the full price for all my devices, looking for those trade in, or signing never ending contracts looks to me like a pain the ass, better, you pay for your phone, walk out of the store, and that's it
It's not a $500 instant discount. I'd get a $500 trade-in discount for my Galaxy S22 Ultra to get an unlocked Galaxy S23 Ultra straight from Samsung. That's way worse than last year, when I got $1,000 to trade in my Galaxy S21 Ultra to get the Galaxy S22 Ultra. I'd have to pay about $700 now to trade in my Galaxy S22 Ultra for the S23 Ultra. That's simply not worth it to me. Had it been $300 or so, like last year, I would have done it, but not $700. Ah well, would have been nice, but my S22 Ultra is still a great phone.

Yeah, we're talking about the same thing,$500 + whatever device you're trading in for an unlocked model.
I'm guessing the $500 instant credit isn't going to be around much longer, if at all, past the pre-order period that ends on 2/17/2023.
My apologies if my choice of words led anyone to believe there was any other additional $500 discount.

I'm curious what you do with your older phones if you're not trading them in. Samsung for the most part (not including this year) offered great values for trade ins in good working condition which means less headaches and hassle which is normally the case when you try to sell it yourself. Unless you're the exception and rock multiple phones as your daily driver.

What never-ending contracts? This isn't about contracts, simply the phone itself. I'm specifically talking about buying an unlocked phone straight from Samsung, not tied to any carrier. That's basically the online version of "pay for your phone, walk out the store, and that's it" like you do. Use it with any carrier. I, for one, prefer to pay as little as possible for a phone, so if I can get a great trade-in discount like last year, I'm all in.
I was simply comparing this year's S23U trade-in offer to last year's S22U, and it's way worse than last year. Last year, I got way more for my phone as a trade-in than I would ever be able to get selling it on Craig's List or OfferUp. That's definitely not the case this year. I'll hang on to my S22 Ultra longer, which is totally fine with me.
you got it wrong, I spoke in general, about you, I was referring about the cumbersome procedure of sending the phone, waiting for them to judge for what ammount they assess it, etc. I just pay for the phone at the store and presto! , I never sell the phones I have used, I use them 2 or 3 years
yeah I`m with GoogleFI and I preordered through there, 600.00 instant discount and free upgrade to 512gb storage for the same price as the 256gb just like what samsung doing on there webiste, all I have too do is keep it activate on GooglefF for 120 days, so it was $635.99 total for the 512gb green color.
Edit: also the samsung phones on google fi are the unlocked versions.

Exactly my feelings and situation right now. Pathetic game by Samsung. I was waiting all these days for the launch and willingness to upgrade. With just $500 for my s22u this doesn't make a sense at all to switch. S22u is so fast that any faster won't matter. It clicks good images too. With 700 plus taxes its not a worthy upgrade. Had it been around 350 usd i would have jumped into the wagon

What particularly irks me is that you get a higher trade-in discount for a previous-generation iPhone 13 Pro Max than their own Galaxy S22 Ultra. Awesome way to reward brand loyalty.
The S23 will be just like all other phones.. People will buy them. Then not long after haveing it, they will complain about how bad the camera is. Or O Samsung dropped the ball, this phone is no differnet than bla bla bla before it.. I prchase my S22 Ultra back in April of last year.. I paid in full $1400. It does what I need it to do, Call, Text, Surf, email.. That is all I need it for.. Unless the phone can do the following 1. Brush my teeth, 2. flush the toilet, or 3. cook me dinner.. I will not be purchasing a new phone until at least this one dies.
BTW Iphones are like Toyota's they hold their value.. Samsung is like American cars. Pay high price, then watch the value drop, one you leave the store.

totally agree with you, even my beloved galaxy note 7 performed very well after 4 years of use, when somebody stole it from my son, the things is, some people have unrealistic expectations about the latest premium devices, I try to get all the pertinent info before buying , I have had Sammsung devices since the S3, after, I moved to the note series, now I returned to the S, just because the ultra model is the new note
Watching this thread, looking for best deal??? Yeah, Samsung is not giving any good deals when I looked. Better yet, I have tmobile, when I went to see what trade in was for my s22 ultra was. unbelievable $150!!!!! Are they nuts??????
Ken
Yep not a very good deal on Samsung website. Even with my perkspot discount I will end up paying around $700 for 512 GB. But then I saw email from my carrier, Google Fi. They are giving me 512 GB version for $600 plus $300 trade-in value for Galaxy S22 Ultra. So, I guess it's pretty good deal for me through Fi. In the end I'll only end up paying $300.

That's why, if it still works, and if the S23 does not have anything breath taking comepared to the S22. Then why in the world would people want to get a new phone.
