Wouldn't there be a chip inside the Note 9 to regulate the voltage so the phone don't get damaged ??

Quick Charging Compatibility

Hi There,
Thinking of picking up the Honor 8 while I travel to the States. Just wanted to ask someone to clear up my confusion. So basically my question is:
Is the Honor 8 compatible with any Quick Charger ?
I know that most people have been saying that only the provided wall charger will quick charge the Honor 8 but , please excuse my ignorance/lack of knowledge here, if the provided charger is 9V/2A/18W , wouldn't a generic charger with those specs quick charge it as well ?
Also does the USB Type-C cable come into play with regards to the charging speed.
Thanks for any help. Just want to know because I'd like to have piece of mind that if I lose/break the provided wall charger I could buy another without paying the price of an Honor-Branded one.
Thanks

In Theory, regardings power supplies you're right.
The problem is more advanced: The charger provides 5V, (maybe even limited to 500mA) until the device handshakes successfully with the charger, and tells "hi there, I'm speaking hisilicon fast charging protocol. Oh, you do too? Great. How is the weather over there? Okay, enough smalltalk, please provide me with 9V, up to 3A, i can handle that without going into a puff of smoke".
The charger then reassures every 100ms or so, that the device connected is still the same... and keeps providing 9V
With a QC based charger, it might go "hi there I'm speaking hisilicon fast charging protocol. Oh sorry, i don't understand QC2.0. I can provide you with this legacy charging protocol". And the charger should recognize that it can provide 5V,2A - which will help, but won't be quite as fast as quick charging...
Lets see when Anker or some other company bring out a dual-lingual charger...
You should go with huawei's charger.

Thank you for your question regarding the Honor 8 and it's capabilities with quick charging. Your phone comes with a 9 V 2 A high voltage quick charger. It also supports 5 V 2 A chargers. Make sure you buy an official Huawei 9 V 2 A charger; unofficial quick chargers will not work properly. If you need a quick charger, you can buy one from Huawei Vmall or official Huawei experience shops. NOTE: The FRD-L02 shipped to the Indian market comes with a 5 V 2 A charger. (NS)

Qi Adapter

Hi guys,
is anyone using a qi Adapter for honor 8? I am trying to find one, which can be placed under the backcover and that is not conflicting with the fingerprint reader.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I bought some random from AliExpress. It had a little bit to long cable why I shortened it by just fold it. It works great and I'm using it every day.

The Honor 8 is a sealed unit with glass back, so I don't know how you intend to place it under cover, without breaking the glass. To stick it to the back of the phone would make it hideous, as that lovely back would be covered.
Huawei / Honor decided to not put Wireless charging in the phone to start with, as it wasn't charging fast enough for their liking. Maybe in future phone releases.
Also, all the "QI adapters" that I have found online for the Honor 8 seem to be MicroUSB, so that ain't going to work either - USB-C on this phone...

Still, unless you're duct taping it on the back with really classy duct tape I'm not sure how you would plan to use it with the Honor 8....

They just put it ON the back but UNDER an case or skin o whatever Not under the glass.
Cheers
Thanks for all the answers. I bought a qi charger adapter off Aliexpress. I came weeks later. Now it's under my phone case and it works like a charm. Of course the phone gets than from normal charging but the benefits of the wireless charging are more important for me.

It gets quite hot or at least hotter than with usual charging. However I don't see any effects of the heat on the performance. It gets its normal temperature within 2 minutes or so.

Does the one you bought interfer with the fingerprint-sensor?
All qi-receivers I've seen are too long and will partially cover the sensor.

You can use the dash wall charger, but the phone will not quick charge. It will still charge nonetheless
In order to get supercharging, you need to use the included cable and wall charger

Wrap Charger on Oneplus 7

Is there any way or MOD to enable Warp Charger on Oneplus 7?
Doesn't it support it already?
The only devices that support Warp Charging are the Oneplus 6T McLaren Edition and the Oneplus 7 Pro.

As you can see in that photo in the attachments, it is clearly compatible with the previews phones. But it is unclear if it can charge with the 30 watts or is just compatible. Though in the description above it say you can charge faster your previews devices too. So maybe that is the case!

I think it's not unclear. It will warp charge the 7 pro but for other phone it will just fast charge. (Like it is with original adapter and not at 30 watts)

I do not know to be honest. I believe it is not clear for sure though. In the official site it is said that it will charge older phones faster and blah blah. But see this YouTube Video in which he uses the Maclaren edition with the warp charger and OnePlus 6t with the same one and it charged even in lower rates than the one that came with the 6T officially.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMaPsIOqJvU
Warp Charge (30W) only works on 6T Mclaren and 7 Pro.
(ex) DASH charge a.k.a 20W 5V/4A works on other models (except 1 and 2).
Warp Charge doesn't work on normal OnePlus 7.

They do. But i've got a OnePlus 6T and wanted to upgrade to the 8T. Based on the 8 and 8Pro I hoped they had shed their aversion to wireless charging and the 8T would have it as well. Guess i'll be looking for alternatives.
The OnePlus 8 Pro has wireless charging. The OnePlus 8 does not. Considering Samsung is releasing the S20 FE 5G, which includes wireless charging at a $700 USD price. OnePlus has no excuse not to have wireless charging on the 8T and 8T Pro.
65w charging is better and there's most likely not going to be an 8t pro... Wireless charging is trash especially when compared to 65w charging with can full charge on 39 minutes and still allow you to use the device while charging unlike wireless charging that forces you to leave the device on the charger and unable to use it! Wireless charging can go in the trash for good.
Confirmed that 8T doesn't have wireless charging..
