Wireless Charging? - OnePlus 8T Questions & Answers

I've liked all my OnePlus phones so far, but I won't have another one if it doesn't have wireless charging. Get with the program OnePlus!

They do. But i've got a OnePlus 6T and wanted to upgrade to the 8T. Based on the 8 and 8Pro I hoped they had shed their aversion to wireless charging and the 8T would have it as well. Guess i'll be looking for alternatives.

The OnePlus 8 Pro has wireless charging. The OnePlus 8 does not. Considering Samsung is releasing the S20 FE 5G, which includes wireless charging at a $700 USD price. OnePlus has no excuse not to have wireless charging on the 8T and 8T Pro.

65w charging is better and there's most likely not going to be an 8t pro... Wireless charging is trash especially when compared to 65w charging with can full charge on 39 minutes and still allow you to use the device while charging unlike wireless charging that forces you to leave the device on the charger and unable to use it! Wireless charging can go in the trash for good.

Confirmed that 8T doesn't have wireless charging..

Wrap Charger on Oneplus 7

Is there any way or MOD to enable Warp Charger on Oneplus 7?
Doesn't it support it already?
The only devices that support Warp Charging are the Oneplus 6T McLaren Edition and the Oneplus 7 Pro.

Thanks for the update
I think it does support it. As on the official oneplus store there are bundles for regular oneplus 7 which include the warp charger.
Can someone confirm if it works?

As you can see in that photo in the attachments, it is clearly compatible with the previews phones. But it is unclear if it can charge with the 30 watts or is just compatible. Though in the description above it say you can charge faster your previews devices too. So maybe that is the case!

I think it's not unclear. It will warp charge the 7 pro but for other phone it will just fast charge. (Like it is with original adapter and not at 30 watts)

I do not know to be honest. I believe it is not clear for sure though. In the official site it is said that it will charge older phones faster and blah blah. But see this YouTube Video in which he uses the Maclaren edition with the warp charger and OnePlus 6t with the same one and it charged even in lower rates than the one that came with the 6T officially.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMaPsIOqJvU
Warp Charge (30W) only works on 6T Mclaren and 7 Pro.
(ex) DASH charge a.k.a 20W 5V/4A works on other models (except 1 and 2).
Warp Charge doesn't work on normal OnePlus 7.

Is the Indian version of the OnePlus Warp Charge 30 Power Adapter rated at 100V-240V?

I'm interested in this because I'm going to be on a trip to the US soon, and I'm not going to be able to use my OnePlus 3T Dash Charge charger there (rated 200V-240V).
Does the new Warp Charge (India) support 100-240V? If yes, I can just buy it here in India (for cheaper) and bring it on my trip. If not, I'll just have to buy it in the US somehow, for more money.
By the way, I don't have a OnePlus 7 Pro, but I figured the people that owned the new Warp Charge charger would be in this subforum.

Can i charge my OP7 pro with a "regular" charger?

Hi,
I just got my new OP7 pro that is replacing my samsung S8.
As i have S8 chargers and even older chargers (like for S6) I wonder if I can use "regular" charger / samsung S8 car charger / xiaomi power bank charger on my OP7 pro?
The warp charger is great but I have only one... and basically the most 2 issues I can think of is charging my OP 7 pro while driving (I have car charger for my old S8)
or while away, I have a xiaomi power bank charger.
So, I would like to know if:
1. is it possible? (probably if so it will charge slower... but it is ok)
2. will it damage my OP 7 pro battery in the long term?
3. Can i Use other USB-C cables?
Thanks for your help.

Charge with any cable. Only warp bank and cable will charge at full speed as you're aware.
So, 1 yes, 2 no 3 yes

And you can charge with DASH chargers too. I do this with my old Oneplus 3T charger and there is no problem. This is not fast as WARP but faster than regular chargers.
Great, thank you all for the answers.

You can also buy from aliexpress.com
Wonder if the oppo or realme or vivo chargers would work as warp charge on a op8
I bought the xiaomi 30w charger before I found out it hardly to be the OnePlus charger. What makes the OnePlus charger warp charge the phone that the 30w xiaomi one won't?
Does anyone knows if that Xiaomi wireless charger with 20W (not 30W) would work? I want a silent fast charger.

Hi,
What is your experience thus far? I've been using it for a while seems like %100 charge takes about 2:30 hours and in the instruction booklet it states that when charge is complete blue light should turn off! mine doesn't turn off what about your's?

Two things come to mind. Do you have optimized charging on? Do you have a case on?
Optimized charging only charges up to 80% at night and then learns when you get up. It starts topping off the phone about an hour and a half before your get up
I've noticed just about any case drastically slows down charging. I've messaged in Ampere and gotten close to 5000ma with no case. With a case it's more like 1500ma. Seems to be the design of the charger now than the phone though. Regular wireless chargers don't seem to have that drop off

Yeah, i have a pretty thing case on and it destroys the charging speed. I get about max 1000mah with it on and 5000odd with it off. [emoji22][emoji22]

Question Charger ?

First Ever pixel phone and nowadays don't come with charger what charger you guys recommend. original google or something from amazon .
Also i only have a 15watt at home
Need a PPS charger for full speed. At least 30W.
The Google one is fine if you want official.
I did order the Google charger
Anyways, I never had wireless charging. Which wireless charger is good and reasonably priced - the Google one is not.

I bought two of these (in Canada) for my S21 ultra and both do "super fast charging". Cheap and do the job

I rarely fast charge anything, I normally baby my batteries and just use very low wattage chargers, but I do own an Anker 3-port (2x USB-C 100W charge, and one USB-A, whatever that's capable of). I mostly use it with my tablet when I need to, but I've used it with my phone once or twice.
Using an Anker Nano II 30W charger here (PD/PPS), although most of the time I charge my phone through my laptop (C>C) to keep heat down.
Question would a s21 ultra charger fast charge on pixel 7?
Would my OP9 charger and cable be fine?
Since it limits the Wattage anyways
I think that with these 3 news that dedicate an article on the best chargers for our P7 pro, I think you should find your choice
xda-developpers => These are the best chargers, cables, and other accessories to buy for the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in 2022
Android Authority => The best Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro chargers

I have a OnePlus charger 65w and a couple of Huawai Mate 20 pro chargers 40w (I believe). Will these charge the pixel on full speed? I'm awaiting Pixel 7 pro

Yes. The Warp 65W charger supports USB PD 3.0 PPS up to 45W (phone will charge at no more than 23W)
OnePlus Warp Charge 65 Power Adapter NA
www.oneplus.com
It is ridiculous that these companies can get away with selling a high price device without a charging block. Here is your brand new car, you will need to bring a gas can if you want to drive it off the lot. We do not supply gasoline as the time of purchase.
I recommend these 3 chargers:
Google charger, 30 W, USB-C only, 29 € (I own this one, works well, uses PPS, but makes some tiny noise sometimes)
Samsung charger, USB-C + USB-A, 35 W, 23 €, uses PPS as well
Wicked Chili charger, USB C + USB-A, 33 W, 25 €, GaN (I own this one, too, it also uses PPS, it's very small, but I'm not sure if it's available everywhere. In Germany, it is.)
I've got this Anker charger https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B016LPMFUA
But I've been charging the Pixel 7 Pro with an old LG Nexus 5x charger Which seems to charge a little faster than the Anker.
I was a little hesitant plugging the chargers in at first but after asking around ye old internet it seems both chargers will do the job fine for now. I'm at a loss which replacement charger to buy next though as there are so many to choose from.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Charger-Charging-Adaptor-Compatible-USB-C/dp/B0B4VY7WDH
This is the one I have, bought for my S21 Ultra last year. Supports 25W so I would hope it charges the S7 Pro fast enough. Ridiculously fast charging doesn't appeal to me, as it has a big negative impact on the battery. I charge my phones overnight at normal speed.
I have an Anker Nano II Pro (20W) in my travel bag but for overnight charging at home i use an Anker power strip with build in USB A ports that charges slowly in conjunction with adaptive charging.
