Okay, so....
What happened:
I was checking my email at work, sitting at my desk, not plugged into anything, when my 13month old Pixel 2 froze and shut off (at >75% battery).
...After that, it never turned on again...
Before anyone asks:
I've never dropped it
I've never exposed it to water.
I've never used anything but the OS it came with (and so I've never installed any kind of TWRP or anything else. I've been a pure vanilla user)
What I have tried:
Holding Power for a solid minute = No response
Power+VolumeUp = No response
Power+VolumeDown = No response
Absolutely no screen flashes, or vibrations.
No light comes on when I connect to the charger either.
What DOES cause a response?:
Every once in a while if I spam click the power button, the red charge light comes on for a split second.
When I connect to my PC via USB, the phones storage is NOT found.
When I run Command Line, it is not found when I use the "ADB Devices" command either.
4) When connected via USB to my PC, it shows up in Device Manager under "Ports (COM & LPT)" as...
"Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3)"
BTW, I didn't make the original post. I read it and it's the same thing that happened to me.

Hi guys, i just thought i'd send you a quick question to see if you could help.
I've been handed a kaiser that appears like it is hard bricked.
i get the qualcomm diagnostics interface 6000 on com4. mtty appears to connect to it on com4 but with version 1.42 of mtty, the commands dont type into the window and with mtty 0513 test version, the command will type into the window and it appears to send, but i get no response from the phone.
NMEA device is on com5 and i can't talk to that at all.
I have tried doing a FrankenKaiser but after i flash the unbricker.nb file and re-plug the USB, it shows up as unknown device in device manager.
Anything you can do to help?

If he's been using FrankenKaiser he probably doesn't have a SPL at all.
Just to check, can you still enter the SPL (bootloader)?
You might be better PM'ing jockyw2001 / GSLEON3 about this.

Dave
It doesn't have an SPL on it at all.
Can't enter bootloader mode either.
All i can do is plug it in to the USB to get the qualcomm drivers to show up.
If you powered it up with no usb cable plugged in, you'd either think the battery was flat (which it isn't) or it was dead completely.
Strange how it will show up with the diagnostics interface when plugged into the usb on my pc.
I don't quite know what to do next.

Also, have you tried to Hard reset it? What do you see if you were to hold the two hard (Middle) buttons while pressing and holding the stylus in the reset hole by the USB?
there are no LED's coming on at all on the phone not even the red one...
If i try a hard reset, nothing happens at all (tried a few times).
From what i've seen on the internet, is it correct to say that a JTAG is the only way to recover the phone?
Well, I was trying to see if I could root my transformer, and ended up not doing it.
The thing is, i reseted the device and now I can't seem to connect it to the pc for nothing.
What I tried:
USB Debug ON/OFF
Uninstall/Reinstall asus sync and drivers
Tried on another pc with fresh asus drivers.
Another Reset (Power + Vol DOWN)
Recovery does not work (starts tinkering, and then the droid thingy with a yeallow triangle with a black exclamation mark inside)
Then one thing wierd happened. It connected ok! Then 5 minutes later, same thing, connecting, some wierd error and results in a Unknown Device.
I'm starting to think it's the cable.. But it charged all the way when I left it tonight.
My phone only shows the the elephone 2 e sign when I turn it on. I have tried pressing the on and volume key when I turn it on but nothing happened. I have followed some instructions on the elephone manufacturer site about installing drivers to my computer and then trying to reinstall the firmware. Unfortunately my computers (I have tried on three different ones) does not identify that a device is connected to the computer. Therefore I can't proceed to install the driver as according to my computer it is not installed. I have tried 2 different leads as well. I would be grateful for some help as I have no idea where to go from here.
Facing a similar issue, and since there's still no reply to this thread, I would like to add up a few findings I have on this matter to maybe help others and get helped.
My P3000S is also reaching the Elephone logo and displays it for a minute and then restarts, repeating the process (aka boot-loop).
The same happens whether it is connected or not connected to the charger/computer through a USB cable. (I've tried new cables but that's not the case).
When disconnected I can stop the boot-loop only by holding down the on/off button for a few seconds (or removing the battery of course).
When connected to the the charger or computer through the USB cable I have no way to stop the boot-loop (holding down on/off just restarts it).
Now with the battery removed..:
If I connect it to the charger/computer, though the charging red light turns on normally, I can't turn on the phone using the on/off button.
However, when connected through USB to a windows computer, I can see in the device manager that, right when I connect the phone it shows up as "Mediatek Preloader USB VCOM Port" under COM ports group, for 1 second and then disappears as if it was disconnected. There's no repetition here I have to manually hold down the on/off button or disconnect and reconnect the phone from the cable to cause this to happen again.
So, I am unable to flash anything nor turn the phone on because I practically only have 1 second of its presence in my devices list.
Also, I have tried all possible combinations with the volume up/down keys and the on/off button in order to enter recovery mode, with no success..
In case anyone has faced something similar or has any ideas on a possible fix on this phone please feel free to reply.
At last a reply to my initial message. Unfortunately it was someone with the same problem as me. I took out a paypal case against the person I bought the phone from and eventually they repaired it. Unfortunately they never told me how. To make matters worse it broke again within 2 months. The phone is now sat in a draw doing nothing. I have given up on it and will never buy another Elephone phone again.
Hello.
I'd like to bring this phone back from the dead. It's completely dead. Cant turn it on. No button combos help. Tried charging it for hours, nothing.
The only thing that does anything is connecting it to PC, which shows up as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 (COM5)". [lets call this QDL for short]
I can change that to "Unknown USB Device" [lets call this UNK for short] using this trick: http://unlimited.io/qhsusbdload.htm easily.
When I open QPST and phone is UNK I can't see it inside.
When I open QPST and phone is QDL I can see it, and it says it's in "download" mode.
Please advise what should I do or try next?
Hello guys, I rooted my HTC one S about four months ago and since then stopped using it as a daily driver, I used to play games, but about two months I did not touch it and I guess its battery juice dried. since yesterday I tried every single method to get in powered it on but I failed, even charging led is not responding, I kept it on charge for 12 hours, even I did jump start for battery, but all useless, one thing I get one noticeable thing that is, when I connect device to my computer, computer recognises as "quectel QDloader 9008"
I am kind of broken now, anyone else faces this problem?
any help will be appreciated.
Good morning community, I have a problem with a J8 that does not show signs of life, it has a battery but it does not turn on.
I connect it to the computer and it gives me "QUALCOMM HS-USB QDLoader 9008". It does not go into download mode or anything, the cell phone was running, waiting for the client to confirm me change the module and it stopped working, previously it turned on but the touch screen was not working
