Hello Friends
I am having SM-G930F and SM-G930S. I would like know how the band support is provided in the Samsung S7 variants?
Is it dependent on the Hardware or software? If it's hardware which part of the hardware, is it the processor (as both above uses same exynos chip) or modem chip? I did tried to check the schematic for SM-G930F but didn't find anything interesting. In case if it's software, then is it the kernel or any configuration file?
The reason is with the stock firmware on SM-G930S, 3G-900 mhz is not supported. I want to fix it.
Any inputs will be highly appreciated.
Cheers,
Ankur
Hi Moderator,
Please share if this is the right place to ask this type of question? or I need to post it at some other section.

Hi, guys
I've been looking for any major differences between the SM-G920I vs SM-G920F. I'm aware there are some differences regarding the frequency bands but appart from that I don't think there are things to set them appart - is that right?
For instance, would it be possible to flash a 920F rom into a 920I withouth issues? If there is a difference is the bands, perhaps the Modem would underperform in comparison to its actual original rom.
Thanks in advance

I too feel the sane but is there anyone who has tried so?
Sent from my SM-G920I using XDA Free mobile app
ive very much been wondering the same thing as ive been wanting to put the alliance rom and framework onto my Galaxy S6 920I but ive only seen support for the 920F model so ive held off from trying it.
Ever bothered to ask the ROM chef? They know the differences in the stock ROMs simply because one has certain files that the other may or may not have. The more active developers here often have separate threads for those having issues with their ROM, and for bug submissions. Drop by the AllianceROM thread with your questions, but please do some reading and don't post unless you can't find an answer for what you're asking...
Since the galaxy s6 edge has the exynos 7420 cpu does that mean international roms will work on US carriers? just have to change the APNs?

I have been wondering the same thing. Have you gotten any further with this?
I'm in South America and would like to flash an INT ROM hoping to get LTE working here. LTE Band where I am right now is 1900 mhz. Would flashing an INT ROM "unlock" the phone for that? Are there other "consequences" that one should be aware of when flashing an official International ROM? Any comment on this is appreciated :good:

no i haven't found any information on it sadly :/
Im searching information about too. I tried install some 925F roms then flash 925p kernels but no luck. GPS not working, data/voice not working, even no mobile operator setting in setup.
You would need more than just download and flash!!! You need to port libs, xmls, framework, apps etc to make it compatible with Sprint
Anyway of getting a sprint compatability zip?

Thanks for the info. In my case I don't need to make it compatible with Sprint since I'm in South America. Any suggestions on how to flash an official International G925 Rom?
I think that will happens only when somebody write unified kernel for F/I/*/*/*/and P version of this phone. I researched this and found that noone from kernel makers want not do this. In nearby thread one programmer offer to try modified bootloader for 925p (to be able rollback to 5.0.2). He can't even find testers(. No one want brick their phones.

Not true..... People have been testing bootloaders. Still more work done to be done to it. There have been about 5 testers

S6 G920F roms on S6 G920P?
Dear users
I would like to have S6 International roms on my S6 Sprint but I can't,
is there a compatibility for sprint file to fix the other touch screen and other processor (exynos and snapdragon)?
Please, can anyone reply if you know it?
PS: Sorry for my English, it's not good.
So i just dont know if im looking for the right stuff or what..
Id like a rootable ROM for debloat and performance reasons.
I have a Galaxy J7 SM-J727U..
Just got it from the store and i can find barely any info on this Model.
Does it have a different name? or just no development for this device?
Thank you
I've got the same phone, and I'm in the same situation. I've got 15 days to return it if I can't find a viable root option, but it seems decent for the price. I've gone through a lot of the steps for trying to root similar models, and in every case I simply can't flash anything with Odin. It gives the error "secure check failed". Everything I've looked into about this seems to point to the "OEM unlock" option under developer options, which this phone doesn't seem to have. I would also love to know if there's any potential for progress on this. I'm willing to put in some research and testing, and I'll let you know if I find anything anywhere else.
The U usually stands for UNLOCKED(as in any network/carrier)
Does not necessarily mean the bootloader is unlocked which is likely if the result is 'secure check fail'
What are the specs of this device and country of origin?
Anyone please say the exact CPU used in ths model. SM-J727U.

That's wrong, sorry. I saw one of the YouTubers Boost Mobile variant (J7 Perx) of SM-J727 with installed Snapdragon 625. I've sent this question to the Samsung support in Twitter, they've confirmed my suspicion of the Snapdragon-based US device. But I was unsure. And here I am completely sure of Snapdragon 625 inside J7 2017 US version.

It was my understanding he is in Ukraine, and there the j727u is the Exynos model, as is the US j727u. The j727p and t models use the snap dragon chips

Yes I am the Ukrainian resident, and her we can obtain the SM-J730F. This is a real Exynos 7870 device. But yours J727U might have a different one.
EDIT: One of the users said that there is indeed Samsung Exynos 7870 inside the unlocked model. Meh. From the wompshmack's post the Download Mode looks to be verifying the signatures.
I have a J7 that is SM-S727LT. I can't find anything on that either

A bit offtopic, but there also is the SM-J727S model, which is the Samsung Wide 2 (or J7 for Souh Korea, sold by the SK Telecom carrier), there is TWRP for it. The CPU is also Exynos 7870.
Theoretically the same rootmethod can be used. Can anyone test?
ANYONE ROOT AND TWRP J727U ?? HELP.. i see no option to enable oem unlock also why.. got my htc rooted then if failed screen damage lines ect fault of too many drops i guess so got this galaxy thinking it will have a twrp ect as its a galaxy yet i find nothing, my luck..
also it was consumer wireless carrier, i cant find prepaid cards for this why ? annoying.. i can send a few to a paypal for help here.. tried odin flash twrp pop says fail.. adb commands the phone so can i flash twrp like that on command prompt.. i need twrp for j727U BUT CANT FIND IT lol
Is there anything for the SM-J727U?
Baseband version J727UUES3ARF1
I wanted to flash the global rom (SM-G935F) from SamMobile to my SM-G935V which has bloatware related to Verizon Wireless (USA Carrier). But since these models have different SoC I don't know what will happen so I don't risk. I'd be happy if someone who tried this answered my question.

I don't need to try it to tell you that its a bad idea. If you search the forums you will see hundreds of threads for different Samsung phones where people did exactly what you did and they bricked phone (hard or soft). You cannot take an Exynos ROM and put it on a Snapdragon SOC. You risk damaging the phone.

It isn't a "risk", it will 100% brick your device.
You can try "porting" the Exynos firmware to work on Qualcomm but it won't be an easy task.
But, unfortunately, you have the Verizon device, due to the bootloader that Verizon Samsung devices have, you won't be able to flash anything except the Verizon G935V stock firmware, your bootloader will not allow using anything else, it won't boot non Verizon software.

Ok. Thank you for your answer.
Hi everyone! I´m dealing with a serious doubt maybe... I have a Galaxy a52 SM-A525M, can I flash a firmware from model SM-A525F?? Thanks!
Idk about that. I wouldn't try it tbh. There are phones on which it can work but idk if the A52 is one of those phones.

Technically, because of the hardware specifications are almost exact, this should be possible but likely not without root.
If you were to flash using Odin, I'm fairly certain, and I would really need to dig and compare the BL and AP portions of A525M and A525F, that the flash would be rejected.
