I'm Rooted & running Renovate 3.0 Rom with the latest Kirisakura kernel but I'm noticing sometimes when I use my phone, once in awhile I would see scanlines come up for a seconds. Anybody else's experiencing these issue and how to solve it?
I have noticed the same issue. I am worried it seems like a hardware issue, rather than a software one.

Yeah same here I'm hoping it's a software issue though. As far as I can remember I never notice it when I was using Stock Rom.

My phone sometime the lower portion becomes unresponsive and sometimes when in an app I can no longer scroll down it only allows scrolling left and right: even in apps like Gmail.
I'm using stock ROM, I'm tested the issue with several kernels but no result. The problem gods away when I lock the screen and unlock I again.

I have the exact same problem. Been trying different ROM:s and it's the same on everyone. I believe it's a hardware problem.

Yeah, how do I manage it?
Flash a different kernel. Glados, Matrix, Franco or stock.
Is this issue confirmed on everyone's device? I feel like calling up Samsung if it is indeed a hardware issue.
Anyone else confirm your screen gets erroneous and unresponsive on certain kernels?

This happens to me at completely stock.
Did you buy your device new? Is this a hardware defect? Can anyone confirm this happened on Gingerbread?

Same issue while on stock GB and ICS, stock kernel. Problem goes away when screen is locked.
On average it bugs me a few times a week when I'm typing. Might have happened many more times, but as locking the screen clears the problem away, it could have gone undetected.
Weird never experienced on my nexus s i've tried GB .. ICS and a whole bunch of ROM+ KERNEL combination my screen works perfect maybe it's only affecting a particular bunch of hand sets .. idk? :/
it happens to me every now and then, usually while typing. generally i have to turn it off completely to fix it, which really sucks.
GB 2.3.7 and whatever the last GB matrix kernal. nothing running over or under.
Ya I have the same issue but for be it only happens when I plug in a USB or auxiliary cable ..oddly not my headphones (klipsch s4)
I've been debating calling into Samsung but haven't had time! Has anyone had luck!?
Edit: I'm running stock 2.3.6 i9020a

I have a GT-P5113 running the latest CM10.1 nightly.
It seems that when I restart the device, the touchscreen works perfectly. However, when I put it to sleep, or sometimes even during use, the touchscreen responds horribly to scrolling / multitouching. When turning on "show touches" in developer options, the response appears to freeze up while trying to scroll / use more than 1 finger.
Even more interestingly, when the problem arises again, multitouches work fine when using any finger BUT the thumb. It's very hard to play games without using thumbs.
This cannot be a hardware issue because it registers all fingers but thumbs properly. This can't be an issue with my thumb because this works after resetting, only until I put the device to sleep. As for software, this problem existed when I had stock rom and when I had the 02-19 nightly and the 03-04 nightly.

Was there an occasion where you had firmware which didn't cause this issue?

Yes Samsung replaced the mainboard for free. And yes it was like in your video but worse.
I made a Video for samsung to show them the bug. This bug was strange cos it disappeared sometimes after standby.

Do you have that video still? Or can you share it on YouTube?
In Russia, many users were denied warranty with such a problem.

No sorry i deleted this video after repair.
Hello, I have searched around but I haven't found anyone reporting this particular issue nor one similar enough to troubleshoot on my own based on those solutions.
I recently began noticing that I was experiencing an issue where data LTE/hspa appears connected, but no information is transmitted. If I put airplane mode off and then back on, data reconnects and all is fine until it happens again. This is occurring multiple times per day.
I am running cataclysm ROM with Franco #40 right now.
Any help would be much appreciated.

are you undervolted?
I did not attempt to undervolt so unless Franco is doing that automatically, which I am inclined to believe it is not, I do not believe so.

I've seen it happen on occasion. The only thing I would suggest is trying stock to see if you can reproduce.

i have tmobile as well, and had that happening to me several weeks ago. it started happening suddenly, was like that for several weeks, and stopped happening just as sudden. i think it might be an issue with tmo, or something that they are doing. anyways, putting it in airplane mode then back always fixed it for me when it did happen.
Good to know. I will call them if it continues.

Also with t mobile and had this issue suddenly start about two weeks ago. Very annoying. I do the airplane mode trick to get it working. Where are you located? I'm in Sacramento, ca

no.
bars dont turn orange, and a connection is shown. data just stops flowing. turning on airplane mode then back fixes it every time.
Same thing
I am on Metro PCS (t-mobile) and have the same issue as others. Weird thing is I only noticed after activating a replacement Nexus 5 I just received. Can't say I remember seeing this so frequently on the original (wasn't paying as close of attention though).
Probably just something up with t-mobile. Might try reflashing the radios. My original Nexus 5 updated via OTAs where as the replacement came with the 4.4.2 stock image pre installed.
At least 5 times a day when I try to turn on my phones screen I'm unable to do do and I'm forced to reboot it. I don't think the issue is with the ROM because I've encountered the same problem on multiple Roms.
Does anyone have an idea what may be causing this?

sounds like sod(sleep of death). it can be a rom issue, a kernel issue, an app issue, or you need to raise voltages.
OK thanks, I'll investigate

i've been using my OPO for about 2 days now and it does not do well the main thing it's suppose to - make calls!!!
it's sooooooooo quiet, which is it a bit odd. ALL sounds are loud (music, android sounds, videos, etc) but NOT calls!! i can barely hear the other person on max volume levels from both speaker and in ear. i do have the latest cyanogen installed but no idea why just the calls are so quiet. any ideas?!
What is the build number and rom that you're using the OPO on?

Will you still get official updates if your rooted and flashed the Franco kernel? How do you like to new kernel? Better battery life? Better charging control?

I flashed this kernel yesterday, it seems ok. There are no lags whatsoever. Battery life was very good. I had SOC around 4h and still 40% battery. But i charged it anyway. The call quality is very good, I cannot complain at all. Basically, only issue I have is the yellow tint at the very bottom of the screen which happens to be the construction fault.
