It was unlocked and it is lagging as hell, I'd like to install like Australian unlocked firmware (XSA) but I don't know, us it safe for my device I just got it.
Cannot update to nougat as it gives tampering error.
Go to https://www.sammobile.com/ to get the firmware, then flash it with Odin. Vodafone should be there, Optus was.
Just make sure you go into download mode on the phone first to confirm you have the correct model information before you download the firmware and flash it.
Hello i am new here i have some questions plz.clear my mind issue is i have galaxy s7 g930p when i dial*#1234# it shows AP, CP G930P AND CSC G930F what is this??? I want to update oreo which firmware should i use i am in pakistan and already use os marshmallow
Boot into download mode (Power + Home + Vol Down) and check what model number it says you have there.
Then download the firmware specifically for that model and nothing else.
Thanks for reply... in download mode its shows g930p and also in settings same model name and also back on phone side same but in recovery mode shows g930v
Here is some detail...
In the Downloads mode SM-G930P is displayed,
in the Phone Info also SM-G930P,
in the manufacturer "Samsung / Verizon",
product code "Not Active",
Original CSC code is empty,
CSC firmware code VZW,
active VZW firmware code,
available CSC codes are empty,
SCS country USA / HK,
Bootloader version G930PVPU4APL6,
PDA version G930PXXU1BPIA,
version CSC G930FXXU1BPIA,
radio module version G930PVPU4APL6.
Which model firmware should i download
Download mode is the only value that can't be changed by modifying the firmware, so it's your true model.
The G930P is the US Sprint S7 model running Snapdragon, so you can use any Snapdragon firmware with Odin (G930U/V/T/P) but don't attempt to flash anything Exynos as it will brick your phone (G930F/FD/W8/K)
G930U is the carrier unlocked generic firmware, so the best one to use if you don't want bloat etc.
Thank u so much can i now install latest update of g930u? in odin fill all boxes with g930u files also csc g930fxxu1bpia with g930u file?
Thank you so much sm-g930u firmware with oreo now working in my sm-g930p no any issue here thanks

Device X , Binary Y errors in Odin mean you are trying to flash an older firmware version than what is on your phone. Device X = current bootloader version number on phone. Binary Y = bootloader version you are trying to flash.
You will have to find latest version to flash for your phone. Bootloader version number is the 5 th number from the right of the firmware name.

Not sure if it will help if you can't boot into phone but in twrp have you tried a factory reset to see if it fixes issue or if you have a backup you could try and restore your phone from that.
If not and since don't know what version you were on before you will have to find the latest firmware for your region (and carrier).
Firmware name will look this(depending on your model)
Example.: G955FXXU2CRF7 the number 2 (5th from the right) will be the bootloader version number. The higher the number the latest released firmware.
I normally use updato.com for my firmware but you could use sammobil or samfirm.
https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=S8+&exact=1
Make sure you select the right phone model and in the filter section select region (and carrier) to refine search.
Note: This will replace twrp with stock recovery and also use latest Odin 3.13.1

Does this apply to the CSC and AP too? Or is there a different way to tell the binary version of the AP and CSC? Because I get the error telling me I've fused 7 and bin 6 for CSC and fused 6 and bin 5 for AP.

Since your on android 7 with Binary ( bootloader ) no.1 you can flash any firmware you want ( within reason )
Just remember if you update bootloader versions you can't downgrade.
If you want the latest version for your device use this PC app

Device X Binary Y error means you are trying flash older firmware than what is on your phone.
You can't downgrade ( binary/bootloader ) versions.
Your CSC code will generally be the country/network of where you live and is represented as XXX
If going to use frija then enter model number ( eg: SM-G955F ) and csc XXX.

have you waited 7 days without reboot?
No, do I have to change time and date to say 2016 and wait for seven days before I reboot?
No need to change time to 2016.
I have the SM-G955F.
I flashed TWRP using the instructions on here and everything worked perfectly fine. I even booted back into the stock OS - however, the Magisk app was not there.
I was going to boot back into TWRP when I got the message "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed" and went into a bootloop.
Then I followed the instructions to flash the stock firmware back on to my S8+, but it failed. Can someone point me in the right direction please?
I used Odin3_v3.13.1. I have attached 2 pictures to show the error.

Sounds like you are trying flash older firmware than what is on your phone. Odin saying you are flashing firmware with bootloader ver 3. Download mode saying you have ver 4 bootloader. You will need latest version of firmware with ver 4 bootloader or higher and flash with Odin.
Bootloader version number is 5th number from right of firmware name.

Thanks so much for responding. So from my reading and researching, I figured that was the case. However, I could only find the the official firmwares from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/development/rom-galaxy-s8-t3749444
Which happens to be v3 bootloaders. Is there any specific v4 bootloader that I should be flashing? I am at my wits end here. I followed all the instructions perfectly...

Firmware can be download from sammobil or updato and flashed with odin
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model
Select phone model then search for firmware for your region ( and carrier ).
Only official binary error is probably due to your rmm state being in prernormal state which means if you unlock your bootloader ( oem ) and reboot it will relock bootloader causing this message.
Reflash firmware to get phone running again.
Have a read through this guide for more info about rmm state

Thank you for the links. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you helping me out.
I bought the phone from eBay, it's a SM-G955F - as for the region and carrier, I live in United States using AT&T. My primary reason getting the international version is to install a custom ROM on it. Is there a specific firmware for my region (U.S.) and carrier (AT&T) that I should flash? I don't see it US listed.
Also, using the guide I mentioned above, I did flash the RMM bypass, however, it was not the version 2, found in the guide you posted. Is that where I messed up?

I don't live in the US but there should be filters on the websites to filter by region. I normally use updato and firmware for your region shows up under U.S.A it will show you all your carrier's like at&t, Sprint, t-mobile and non carrier firmware.
As for the rmm zip version 2 may have been better it is more up to date and is smaller in size. Both should do the same job though.

I looked on updato and sammobile, both do not have USA region. Can I flash firmware from another region and still get it to work on my carrier?
For example, can I flash U.K. (Vodafone) since its on ver 4 firmware and uses GSM - regardless of region and carrier?

Just doubled checked saw you have the f series while updato has u1 version firmware that I can see.
You can flash firmware from the UK if you want but can't say for certain you will have full network capabilities due to the difference in region and carriers ( network capabilities ). I would try and find an unbranded version ( non carrier branded) firmware first if not then something like Vodafone .
There is a simple reason for this. If you came from TWRP as "reboot to download", this creates the problem. Turn off the phone. Go to download mode with Vol_Down+Bixby+Power and then press Vol_Up button. When I enter download mode like this, it flashes without any problems.
I bought a new S7 (G930F) at ebay. When it arrived i wanted to update to the newest firmware, but i got an error notification.
I contacted Samsung and they told me to send it in.
They checked it and told me, that they are not willing to help because the phone is flashed with a wrong firmware. I bought it as a new device. This is unpleasant.
The seller doesn't answer my messages, so i thought maybe i can flash a new firmware by myself. The actual firmware is working but it is outdated. (1. August 2018)
But how can i find out which firmware is correct for this phone? How to say if it is exynos or snapdragon?
The phone information
Modellnummer: SM-930F
Seriennummer: 5AF94C0C
Buildnummer: R16NW.G930FFXXU7CRH2
Kernel: 3.18.71-14274519 [email protected] #1
Basisband: G930FFXXU7CRH2
Android 8.0.0
Samsung Experience: 9.0
I would like to flash the latest firmware and i want to use the phone in germany. Can somebody identify the correct firmware?
Thanks a lot
What does the phone say in download mode? The ROM can be modified to lie about the model and firmware, but download mode will tell you the truth.
If download mode says it's a G930F then it's Exynos, if it says G930U/V/T/A then it's Snapdragon.
If it is a G930F then good news is you can just flash whatever G930F firmware you want over top what's on it. If it's Snapdragon then you're a bit stuffed, you can't flash Exynos firmware onto Snapdragon.
For updating it if it is G930F my recommendation would be to find out the region code for your device, e.g. from here https://updato.com/firmware-archive...act=1&r=DBT,XEG,DCO,DDE,VIA,DTM,VD2&v=&rpp=15 then download the firmware using that region code with SamFirm tool https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
Download Mode says SM-G930V
I'm doomed
Yep that's a common scam. If you can't return to seller the next best thing would be to flash the G930U firmware, which is the generic unlocked firmware for Snapdragon.
It won't give you the equivalent experience, but it will remove any bloat and give you a carrier unlocked phone experience.
You can use the same methods I mentioned to get your hands on the latest G930U firmware and update the device, but you may need this specific Odin version to flash G930U over G930V https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
Thanks. Does TMK, TFN, TMB,... make a difference when the phone is used in germany?
Should i flash all 5 files:?:
AP
BL
CP
CSC
Home
I tried and my result is: Flashing only AP was not enough. Flashing all 5 worked fine for me. I chose TMK and even LTE is working. Thanks a lot.
Glad its working, for reference CSC and Home_CSC are both CSC files and you usually pick just one. Home_CSC doesn't do a data wipe, CSC does.
But when changing from G930V to G930U it's always safest to do the CSC wipe.
