SM-G955U snapdragon update csc to H3G three uk so I can use voLTE and voWIFI - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Any help would be much appreciated.
I have bought a sm-g955u S8 plus online. I am with three uk and I have poor signal where I live. I was hoping to download the app to use voWIFI not realising that it is now integrated into the three firmware. I assume my phone has a snapdragon chip and uk phones have the exynox chip. Is it possible to put the three csc info into my firmware? Can I root this phone?
I would also like to access voLTE. Also is there a way to keep using online banking with a rooted phone?
Thank you.

@mitrjoshi
Hate to tell you this, but this is NOT possible -> You gave the answer yourself already -> India has the Exynos-version, You have the Snapdragon one!
So: OFFICIAL FW's from Samsung for India SM-G955F (INS) WON'T work on your SM-G955U
There's also a big chance, some of the LTE-bands used in India are NOT supported on your (American) SM-G955U device
If I change csc on s8+ will it sim unlock
I have a s8+ lock with T-mobile I want to unlock it but it cost to much. Can I just change the csc to sim unlock?

Use H2o sim on SM-G930T

So I bought a T-Mobile unlocked Galaxy S7 (SM-G930T) after reading that there was no difference between unlocked phones except for bloatware. It seems now like that was not entirely correct. My H2o Wireless sim uses the AT&T network, but in my new phone it gets little or no reception almost everywhere I go. It works great in the unlocked Nexus 5 that I'm trying to replace. I have found some scary instructions on these forums and elsewhere that would enable more frequency bands or convert my phone to a SM-G930U. Is that the right way to go, or is there a simpler way to get my old sim card working?
The different variants of the S7 come with carrier specific firmware, so the T-Mobile firmware may not use the modem in the same way as AT&T expects.
Flashing the G930U firmware is probably a good idea, and it's not too difficult http://updato.com/how-to/how-to-install-an-official-samsung-stock-firmware-using-odin
I was also under the impression the G930T was SIM locked by default, unless you got them to unlock it.

This G930T was labeled "T-Mobile unlocked" on Ebay. I doubt that it got any special treatment. My H2o sim card works, just not very well.
Digging a little deeper, the app Network Cell Info Light tells me I'm using bands 2, 4, and 12. It also tells me I'm using band 5 if I run a USSD code. Bands 2, 4, and 12 are used by both T-Mobile and AT&T, so those make sense. Band 5 is used by AT&T but not T-Mobile, so I don't know why they have that one enabled (or maybe the list of bands I found is wrong). Unfortunately, the same app doesn't display which bands are in use by my Nexus 5 so I can't compare. If I could use AT&T's other bands (17 and 30) maybe things would work better.
Flashing the G930U firmware or even the G930A firmware (although I think the G930A is now the G930U) could change the bands. All of the USA models use the same modem, so if some bands are enabled on one and not the other, it would entirely be firmware.

Thank you. I'll probably follow your firmware how-to once I can find a chunk of time to work on it. Why do you suppose the G930A and G930U are the same while the G930T is different? Maybe I bought the wrong one. I went with the G930T because I read a few places that it had the least bloatware.
From memory AT&T used to have their own specific branded model like T-mobile, but they eventually discontinued the G930A and just started offering the unbranded version.
Then I believe from that point onwards G930A's just got the G930U firmware updates. So they were once different but aren't any more.
G930U would have the least bloatware because it's the non carrier unbranded version of the phone, most people will flash it over their own phone to remove bloat. G930T may be the least bloated of carrier branded phones, but G930U is least bloated overall.
From a technical level the phones are all identical, it's just how the carrier has customised their firmware. You having the G930T isn't really a problem because you can just flash any other USA model firmware and get the same experience as if you bought it from them branded as theirs.
I flashed a SM-G930U firmware (SM-G930U_2_20181023083753_yako40hi3m_fac.zip) using Odin3 v3.13. That got rid of the T-Mobile bloatware, which is nice, but I still have the same signal problems I had before. Any other ideas? I wonder if this model has an antenna or some other piece of hardware that limits the frequency bands. I very briefly saw Network Cell Info Lite pick up a signal on Band 30, which I had never seen before. Maybe I'll see more of that if I get a chance to take the phone farther from home.

Enable LTE+/4G+ in Europe for US model?

Hi,
I bought my pixel 4a in the USA last month and now that I am back to europe, I noticed that carrier aggregation is not working.
I found on google that on previous pixels, carrier aggregation only works for the region on where you bough the phone... so now, I am stuck with single band connection.
Is there any way to force enable LTE+/4G+ carrier aggregation / CA2 in Europe for an USA, unlocked model?
I don't have root... but I would root it if that means enabling that feature globally.
in Germany LTE+ is working out of the box. no root

Do you have the USA model and not the one released for EU?
And are you running Android 11?
I tried it in Portugal, UK, Spain and France on Vodafone and I couldn't get any 4G+ connectivity.
In the US I had no issues with LTE+ at all, only when I came back to europe.
eu model, android 11 stock

Resting Wi_Fi, mobile & Bluetooth...............or factory reset doesn't work I assume.
Maybe try this:

Thanks, but I am talking about using the US version in EU. The EU version will naturally work in EU.

I was hoping more for some mod perhaps.
I have checked that my phone is only connecting to one band, without aggregation.
It worked fine in the usa, but not in europe, so most likely, they lock it on the oem.
The bands are supported. I have B1,B3,B7,B20 available on my network, and they are all supported individually, but not aggregated.
It does look like the North American model is the G025J, and the European model is the G025N.
I do wonder if getting carrier aggregation working might require some special registration with the carrier though.
It doesn't require carrier registration. I have 3 sims and they all do 4g+ on my old galaxy note 8.
Pixel 3 had the same issue. They block carrier aggregation outside the region on where you bought the product, at the OEM level.
Maybe some dev knows how to unlock it on the software. I've see this for other brands.

Question S21+ exynos voLTE?

Hi, I bought s21+ exynos (with vodafone italia firmware) but even though I am using vodafone as carrier voLTE does not work. There is no more the option to activate it.

SM998U1 does not recognize 5G band in France

Hello, can an expert helping me. I have a sm-G998U1 s21 ultra I paid via Rakuten site.
My concern is that I am not able to get 5G signal, only LTE, knowing that my operator is FREE with 5G in France. My SIM card has no problem because when I install it on an other mobile phone I receive the 5G.
Questions to the expert:
- Is this s21 ultra model compatible with 5G European bands and if yes, how can I customize my phone to receive 5G?
- Taking into account that this model is an US phone, do you think it's possible that I change the firmware via ODIN by replacing the current version SM-G998U1 (US) by a SM-G998B (European) and will this solve my 5G problem?
Or this is impossible even with different firmware because it is due to the mobile hardware, the antenna is different on US models.
Thank you for your help.
Hello, exactly same story with rakuten and SM-G998U1 s21 ultra
No way to get 5G working in France (with Free mobile).
I contacted Samsung Customer service. They told me the product was for American market, so don't expect it to work outside the USA.
The seller says it is compatible but in fact it is not.
I talked with the seller and they tried to explain me that it was 5G even if it is written LTE in the connection icon...
I also tried the tool ForceLTE to restrict to use only 5G (and no LTE) and I never get connected. I show them the screenshot and they realised there was a real problem.
Hello,
I have the same problem in Spain. All work fine, but It can't connect using 5G...
Were you able to fix the problem by installing some firmware or ROM?
