My personal intension to create this app:
I'm using the messenger Trillian which has random FCs. Now Cerulean Studios has"pimped" the UI in a way I don't like. So I have to use the old version with known bugs.
To not miss messages anymore, i restart Trillian after crashes with this app
Now i'm using it also for daily crashes of WhatsApp

I just read it in portal news, looks nice. Good work OP!
Is this an Xposed module or standalone? (Other great apps work with Xposed.)
no module applications ...
Wow, sounds amazing, I could use this for my CarPC.
Would it be possible to add an per-app option to only recover the app when the screen is on ?
Thanks !

Per-app? A global option "restart apps only of screen is on" would be much easier
So if the time interval is set to 20 minutes, the app check every 20minutes if the selected apps are still running and if they dont, keep running start them again?
Do i get this right?

Yes.
I think "20" is a good value
* you do not miss messages etc to long
* not many checks of the apps, no impact to battery (20 min -> 72 cheks/day)
But you could set whatever you need

Just pushed to Play Store. The logfile shows "sleeping" if
* the setting is enabled
* the screen is off
* an app is detected as not running
Bad side: needs api7. For Android <=2.0 i would have to watch screen-on/-off events :-\

As i wrote in 1st post, i did this app for Trillian and WhatsApp because both crashes sometimes on my device. Then i get calls why i don't answer for so long...
Now i've additionally set Llame and My Data Manager, because i've hidden their notification icons with NotifyClean, and i wan't to know if they closes without it - until now it was not the case

How about returning to previous active app instead of homescreen then? Returning to the homescreen interrupts ongoing use of the phone.

Great idea, i will check if it is possible to get the current focused app. But it could be that there is a short (<1 second) interruption anyway

I, too, wish they would've kept Trillian looking like that old school Gingerbread style, but it's hard to expect them not to upgrade the UI, I guess...

Hi!!!
This is an amazing app!!
1st: I want a promocode to get the full app
2nd: I want to help you to translate into Spanish (my native language) (obiously for free).
I will be waiting...
Thank you!!!
Great app.
1. I would suggest for Relock Policy to add the option: Lock when screen is off
2. a transparent theme would be nice showing once own wallpaper behind the lock screen
3. Third eye takes pictures but does not send them to the email address
4. Android System is locked. i.e. I try to open a YouTube link but have no default app, so first I have to unlock Android System in order to choose an app to open the link. Can't find a way to switch that off, it's a bit annoying
5. Could you add a dark theme for the app
6. Also I would use color to show that an app is selected to be locked. I have showed your app to several people and most agreed it's not always clear whether the lock is inactive (grey) or active (black).
PS still waiting for Promo Code
Hi, i will test it and try get it working for Android L, thanks for pointing it out!

Hi, thanks for liking my app. After enabling the advanced protection, the app is virtually impossible to get through. Although a user has reported a bug which needs to be fixed to increase the security (which is in progress), i feel it is safe to say that AppLockZilla is quite strong on security.

Hi. I will go straight to the point. This app needs a lot of work. I don't mean any bad publicity or any mean comment or anything like that. But from what I have seen in my experience with my phone, it is easy to go around the app and get to the locked app. I have "long press back to kill" enabled in my developer options. When I launch a presumed locked app, I just have to long press my back button and it kills the lock of your AppLockZilla and the locked app launches like there was nothing to lock at all.
My previous app lock didn't have this security breach so I quickly went back to it.
You have to fix it very quickly enough because now that some people know it, things can happen. Sorry.
Brilliant. One question, is there a way to disable to lock on "Android System"? Every time I need to select an app to complete an action I have to input my code

Alright. Cool! It is a good app BTW. I really liked the knock code like feature that it has l like the LG G3 (Tap lock). It was this feature I was using when I found the bug.
The app lock app I'm using right now is called Droid Protector by @1tek. It is really simplistic, but when I tried your app I liked it and its features until I found the bug. So I went back to the previous one.

I really like the media vault, two things to that.
1st is it possible to have/make "folders" or "categories" in the vault? So that I can sort them?
2nd I was not sure at first how to select a picture or video, even though (after reading the FAQ - which is great that's included in the app) it's obvious that long pressing would work. I was looking for little check fields in the pics and vids. Long pressing is better, maybe you can make a pop-up or write it on the background of the vault. "Long press file/picture/video to select"
I also think that a file vault would be a great idea.
THIS IS THE GAME CHANGER!
This app is made for the devices which do not have the brightness adjustment slider in the notification panel. This app brings a similar slider to the notification panel in the form of a notification. Brightness Slider Control aims to mimic the functionality of those sliders/controllers found in Samsung, Motorola, Nexus and other devices and delivers it to those devices which do not have this functionality e.g HTC phones.
But due to some technical limitations imposed by Android OS, it is not possible to mimic the exact behavior of sliding. So in this app we can "touch" the slider panel to change brightness but we cannot "slide" it. The default behavior of every ordinary notification is that the user dismisses it by sliding to right or left. We cannot replace this functionality with our own. So unless Android allows it, we can only use the "touch" gesture.
You are strongly encouraged to report any issue and submit your precious suggestions on this thread.

>> Performance is greatly improved.

I have just uploaded another update of this app to the play store. This update mainly focuses on giving the users a way to send me a 'coffee' aka donations. Since this app has been brought to the users free of cost, and that too, without cheap advertisements; I think that will be a good way for happy users to show their appreciation at their own will.
It can be downloaded from the Play Store:

Any plans for doing the same for volume (media)? Also, the notification could be shorter in height, if that's possible.

I just discovered the collapsed notifications (I don't have an oreo device). If I will be able to use these in my app I will use them but currently I don't have a device to test it. Apart from this, I am stuck with the standard sized notifications.
Any chance to turn down it's killing of background apps? It's insane, I don't even get sms messages until I open the app (Signal, Facebook Messenger and others)
Basically no notifications at all arrive if screen has been off for longer

Thats the problem of emui. It has too many hidden features that cause the deep sleep problem.
1) Go to settings>battery, go to icon on top right, make sure everything off in there, except keep the mobile data always on.
2) Go to settings>notification&statusbar>notification management, choose the apps that u would like to use, on the priority display.
3) Go to settings>apps, click on the settings icon, go to special access, ignore optimisation, change to all apps, choose your desired apps, change to allowed.
Lastly make sure your desired apps off in the lock screen cleanup.

Thanks, this is useful advice, but in step (2) I get a list of all applications. The ones I'm interested in (Facebook, Messaging) are already set up for priority display.
Also in step (3) - wouldn't that increase battery consumption ? I'm on B183

Step 3 ignore all huawei's optimisation on the selected apps. Actually on every other brand phone its always allowed. Just in this emui they hibernate the apps. So when u make it allowed, it will be working normal again just like other brand phones.

The list of All Apps does not include GMail . But it does include Facebook. BTW I started to get notifications even after applying steps 1 and 2. Now I applied step 3 to Facebook, but it's a mystery why GMail is not on that list. On some other page which lists applications, there is a menu to show "system processes". But not on this one, so I can't "allow" optimisations to be turned off for GMail. It's a mystery.

This is on Samsung Galaxy S8+ running latest Oreo
I can hide it, but just wanted to verify that there's no battery abuse using this

Absolutely no battery abuse. That's standard android thing. Check battery usage and you should not see the app listed (in which case the battery usage is less than 1%). In case you see abnormal battery usage let me know.
Where is the pro version available for purchase?
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using XDA Labs
