[APP/TOOL][ICS+] Brightness Slider Control in notification panel - No root needed! - Android Apps and Games

THIS IS THE GAME CHANGER!
This app is made for the devices which do not have the brightness adjustment slider in the notification panel. This app brings a similar slider to the notification panel in the form of a notification. Brightness Slider Control aims to mimic the functionality of those sliders/controllers found in Samsung, Motorola, Nexus and other devices and delivers it to those devices which do not have this functionality e.g HTC phones.
But due to some technical limitations imposed by Android OS, it is not possible to mimic the exact behavior of sliding. So in this app we can "touch" the slider panel to change brightness but we cannot "slide" it. The default behavior of every ordinary notification is that the user dismisses it by sliding to right or left. We cannot replace this functionality with our own. So unless Android allows it, we can only use the "touch" gesture.
You are strongly encouraged to report any issue and submit your precious suggestions on this thread.

On the HTC M9 the app asks for you to give it permission to change settings. I don't know how to do that as my phone is stock and not rooted

Are you on Marshmallow? I will try to upload another version which might solve the problem. I don't own a marshmallow device so I will have to download an emulator for this purpose.

Yes I'm on Marshmallows, this app would come in very handy for me, hope you manage to get out working on Marshmallows

I'll hopefully upload an update tomorrow which should fix this problem by asking permission before installation like on pre marshmallow devices. And maybe I'll also manage to give option to hide notification icon.

I have uploaded the update. It will reach you in some hours.
This time it should properly ask your permission to change settings in Marshmallow devices. Please tell me if it works.

Loving the app. Would it be possible to add an option to only show the notification on the lockscreen? Would be handy for outdoor use even if we don't always need an ongoing notification.

I think it's possible, but it'll require a lot of coding. It is a good idea.
Maybe i'll add this option in the future, but I can't promise.

Would you think about adding start a boot option.

Definitely. I could have updated it by now but I fell ill and I couldn't use the laptop. I'll try to update it maybe by Sunday.

Just updated the app.
Now you can choose whether to show icon in status bar or not!
The notification will not be cancelled when you press the "Clear All" button.
Previous change log:
Fixed the permissions issue on Marshmallow devices.

Thanks for the update.

Just sent another update.
Now you can choose whether to show the notification automatically on boot.
A new button is added in the app to remove the notification.

Updates have been sent to the play store and their summary is this:
>> Now touching 0% level and 100% level has become extremely easy.
>> Performance is greatly improved.
Previous change logs:
>> Now you can choose whether to show the notification automatically on boot.

I have just uploaded another update of this app to the play store. This update mainly focuses on giving the users a way to send me a 'coffee' aka donations. Since this app has been brought to the users free of cost, and that too, without cheap advertisements; I think that will be a good way for happy users to show their appreciation at their own will.
It can be downloaded from the Play Store:

Any plans for doing the same for volume (media)? Also, the notification could be shorter in height, if that's possible.

That's a good idea. I didn't have plans for it but I may make it in the future. The notification is always the size of an ordinary collapsed notification.

That is right, but a slider doesn't need to be as tall as a notification in my opinion. Maybe the height of Oreo's collapsed notifications would make sense.

I just discovered the collapsed notifications (I don't have an oreo device). If I will be able to use these in my app I will use them but currently I don't have a device to test it. Apart from this, I am stuck with the standard sized notifications.

Working like a charm though it's a pity that the notification does not get away once it's read
Anyways, awesome job, I know there's a lot of people who has been waiting to something like this :good:
try to make the UI more holo-like.. to blend in.
add a little blue/grey. but not too much background transparency.
Thanks for the feedback:
1. Notifications clear - I'm planning to implement full notifications clear when screen is unlocked, any thoughts on this?
2. Holo look - I'll raise opacity to 75% (currently it's 50%), I think this will make the gray and blue colors more noticeable.
Love it so much!
I hope it has a option that do not turn on the screen when a new notification arrives.
Thanks!

how about creating an option to let the users decide the background opacity?
default is the original JB grey..
edit: can you also implement -> slide to remove (individual remove per app notifications)?
also i noticed your permissions are "prevent phone from sleeping"
why is it that way? means our phone wont go into deep sleep right? :S

" Slide to dismiss" is impossible to implement on lock screen widgets (or any widgets at all). Must have buttons.
The permission is needed to turn the screen on when notification arrives. The phone will act normally and will go to deep sleep if needed.
This looks very promising, especially with a Holo theme
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
This would look great with a few design changes, i.e. a more holo/4.2 look.
I hope there will be settings available to control things like opacity, which apps/notifications to show, privacy options, etc.
I wish you all the best and look forward to using your invention

[APP][4.3+][C Notice]Floating Notification

Allow me to introduce my app here:
<<I created my apps mainly based on "C"onvenience and "C"ustomization. that's what my app's name "C" stands for>>
C Notice:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ccs.notice&ah=dTx4mbmLYrMc6lw9MjuDlXRLp7A
Receive floating notifications from selected applications and keep track of everything that is important to you, all without needing to access your phone's status bar and directly from the lock screen. Experience a very clean & simple floating window design with a unique colored header display. Upon receiving a new notification C Notice displays a visual reminder of the individual application in the form of a floating icon. All notification icons float on top of any other application and can therefore be accessed and interacted with at any time you want, until dismissed. Make additional use of swipe gestures on icons to trigger quick actions (open, expand, dismiss,...) and interact with notifications of all kind with ease.

really nice app !
But would be nice to have the option : not showing notification over lock screen.....
Hey OP I just got done buying the pro key and leaving you 5* on Play Store...came over here to tell you that I am seriously in love with your app.
It really used to be such a pain in the ass accessing the status bar/notification panel on my OnePlus One, my fingers are not long enough to just swipe it without having to move my whole hand, and your app has solved this problem. Besides that, the ability to see my notifications floating windows without having to open the entire app saves so much time. This is definitely one of my favorite apps so thanks again, and anyone who sees this but has not installed the app yet, go check it out, it's great!!!
(BTW I'm on Mahdi ROM 4.4.4, stock kernel, tons of Xposed modules and scripts running and haven't experienced any compatibility issues w/ this app)

Love the app, been looking for something with the bubble part of the Halo functions
Been working with it last two weeks or so, found a bug, or what I think is a bug - play store notifications gets auto cleared.
Great app!
Great app, thx a lot! But, is it ok for this app to consume almost 200 Mb of RAM?

I love this app, I missed halo but liked having MW and PW that stock based Samsung ROMs give and this gives me a halo feel. Could it be possible to have a feature that if you do have Pen Window, when you click the notification the app would open in a pen window? Even if you made it a premium feature I'd pay for that.
I've been using C Notice and C Locker for a few days. Both have great potential, both well worth to buy the premium version.
Focusing on C Notice, it can be a very viable replacement for Floatification. As I've read and experienced, the dev for Floatification is not all that responsive and it's been buggy. Searching for a more capable replacement is what led me to C Notice.
A few requests:
1) Allow the notice/popup to directly delete (for example, Gmail) messages, and directly reply on those apps that have those functions in the notification bar.
2) Have a separate setting for timeout for lockscreen and unlocked. This is how I want to use it: Lockscreen--the display DOES NOT turn on automatically, but when I turn on the screen, I want to see the notifications. After a period, I want the notification to timeout and go away--this is so that the screen will automatically turn off. As you know, if C Notice stays on the lock screen, the display won't turn off. This is useful if I bumped my phone and the screen turned on. This way, it will turn off automatically after a few seconds.
While I am using the phone--I want C Notice to appear and not timeout until I act on it. When I am in the application that initiated the notification, though, I do not want C Notice to pop up (very simlar to a function available in Floatification).
If the above two are implemented, C Notice can completely replace Floatification.
3) For future consideration--to allow seperate Gmail and Hangouts notification--allow the selection of specific Gmail accounts and lables and specific Hangouts accounts for notification.
I'd gladly pay several times the current premium price....
Thanks for your work.
I had C Notice on my Samsung 3 and, so I thought, it would ring back at set times for reminders that I had not dismissed. Now, in my Note 5 I cannot find the option. Have I lost my mind?
How do I Uninstall c notice
Can You make the same style of round notification i cnotice as in the clocker? Now on cloker I can watch a preview of sms email etc. and have the contact photo on notify icon. On cnotice I have the number of unread notifications but not on cloker.
Please make same options in both of Your apps.
Is it possible to enable/disable this app from for example Tasker?
Regards Peter
Could you add quick reply feature like in Floatify?

How to disable banner notification of SMS,Whatsapp or any other app?

Is there any way to disable banner notification? sometime banner notification pop-ups even if u showing something on your mobile to someone and something stupid appears on banner notification and it gets embarrassing.
is there any workaround ?
I have not seen any solution for this but I have seen many people wanting a solution. When Lollipop modification matures I'm sure there will be a way. At least WhatsApp should make it an option.
If there is a way - somebody correct me!

I don't know of any HeadsUp implementation that can force the HeadsUp flag to NOT be attached. The current ones so far only allow forcing the flag to every notification of an app (enable) or letting the application decide (disable, stock behaviour)?

In SLim you can turn the headsup off on a per-app basis. It's not global but it achieves the same thing. You can also snooze heads up overall for an amount of time, however I think you need to receive a headsup notification first to enable that

[App] Edge Lighting fix for all Apps (ACTUAL Edge Lighting)

Get actual Samsung Edge Lighting Notifications with any app while your screen is off!
Since we all know Samsung only did half the job with this feature, this app will enable you to trigger Edge Lighting (the real one !) when your screen is off. It works with any app by reading the app notification creating a new temporary notification that triggers edge lighting (you won't notice it in your notification list).
You can set custom color filters for your apps, based on their names.
Features:
Real Samsung Edge Lighting
Extremely minimal battery drain
No fake AOD Screen
Works with ANY app (including Messenger!)
Initial setup is a bit tedious, but that's mostly Samsung's fault.
Any suggestion to improve the app is -of course- welcome!
Download link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.zunder.edgelightingfixforallappsv2
Patch notes:
Users using a version priori to 1.2 need to install a new version of the app from the market (link updated in the first post)!
v1.24
Fixed an issue that caused the app to crash for some users.
v1.23
Added a custom icon feature for each app (Premium feature)
v1.22
Added a switch to enable/disable display of system apps in the list
v1.21
Fixed a switch display bug when using the search feature.
v1.2
Just to explain: I had to create a new app on Play store because, for whatever reason, the Play Console won't let me update the old one.
- New super sexy interface
- Filter search
- In-app support purchase to remove ads
v1.07
Added support for Do not Disturb mode. You can still bypass it in the notification parameters on my app, but there is no way so far I can make it work on a per application basis.
v1.06
Taping an app icon now now copies its name to the clipboard for faster filters setup.
v1.05
Added a detailed help screen
v1.04
Finally added an icon for the app
v1.03
Fixed the issue about the switches resetting when you scroll
Seems great, but the link doesn't work for me.

It's my first app, I just created my developper account today. What does it say?
The link works for me even if I'm not connected.
Here is direct link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.zunder.edgelightingfixforallapps
This is the "link" : http://get+it+on+google+play/
That's it, so it cannot work obviously

Weird, the link on the pic works just fine for me... Please try the direct link I provided in the edit. I'm really eager to get some feedback
"Get it on Google Play" should be the description of the pic.
Nice! Thank you for this! It's great when a new app is added for our device! Gonna try this!! :good::good::good:
So far so good, for the first time I got the notification for Gmail while the screen was off. Great job, I will be testing it thoroughly.

Glad to see it's working for you! Did you manage to set the color filter (I guess red for Gmail)?
Edit: I found where to do that. Perfect! Thanks

Nope, tried to find how to do that from the Edge lighting configuration panel but didn't find. Any clue?

When you choose your edge notification style, you should be able to pick a color. Set it as custom and add filters from notification titles (which are the source apps names the way they are displayed in my app)

Where do you choose your edge notification style?

-> Open Settings
--> Display
---> Edge Screen
----> Edge Lighting
-----> Edge Lighting Style
------> Pick your style then Color
-------> Custom Color
Here there will be an option "By text": Enter the name of the source app as displayed in my app and pick a color.
Thanks guys for reporting this issue, I'll add some kind of help in the next release and the PlayStore app description tomorrow (3am there, I'm just barely stayin awake cause I wanna see what you guys have to say about my app).
Hello, thanks for the application, now I want to try ... will the notification light remain on until I open it? Can you add an on and off time? similar to a led notification? Thank you
Works good so far, however, there is no app icon on the notification (generic android icon on gmail), also there is a ": nul" append at the end of text.
Device : S10+ (G975F/DS)

Before I set up like above, notifications were waking up my screen. How would I go back to that option?

For now, no I just implemented a basic Samsung Edge Lighting notification, so you got what they designed.
I will see how I can make the notfication repeat at a fixed interval set by the user. I'm just afraid it will be extremely battery hungry.

With my app, notifications shouldn't wake your screen up but give you an edge light.
When you get in the menu for custom color, you have to allow my app ("Edge Lighting for all Apps") to send Edge Lighting notifications.
Edit: do you understand that Edge Lighting will prevent notifications from turning the screen on but instead display some kind of edge light while keeping your screen off?

Yeah, all of this is tomorrow's work!
Yesterday: learn Android environment and set the notifications
Today: learn how to get and make list of apps and how to set preferences
Tomorrow: make it look good!
Im not seeing the ":nul" however, where exactly is it?

OK thanks. It would be interesting to add that option. Does the goodlock edge light work? So is the LED only activated around the camera?
