Welcome to my custom boot animations thread designed specially for our beloved OnePlus 7 Pro.
Made a few boot animations these past few days and will upload more in the coming few. Requests are welcome too and if it's not too intricate, i'll try to get it done.
You have to be ROOTED.
Flash .zip via Magisk.
If you want to return to stock boot animation, disable module via magisk and reboot.
If flashed animation don't appear and it's still displaying the prior animation, it's probably because you already have a few other bootanimation modules activated in magisk. You need to disable all the other bootanimation modules in magisk, reboot and reflash new one.

Do you have any other magisk bootanimations actiavated?
If you do, disable them all, reboot, and reflash.
Worst case scenario, you can move the bootanimation.zip (located in the magisk module zip: system/media folder) manually to /system/media on your phone and set permissions to rw-r-r
Remember to back up stock bootanimation by adding a .bak at the end of the file name.

Looks stellar, just seems to be about ~30fps. Is it possible to get it up to 60 or higher?

Fps depends on the design. Higher fps = faster image sequence and also bigger file size. Everything will look sped up. So on most designs the idle fps would be around 15- 24- 30.

I understand that, but is it not possible to release a larger sequence with double the images in addition to the normal one? If you made this in After Effects or similar that should be fairly simple

Then the file size will become huge. The raw video for example the OnePlus Boot Animation i made is almost 10gb. It's best to keep it small to ensure it boots up without issues. Already tested it and sometimes it ends up with a black screen and have to force reboot. Also if it's small, dev's can include them in their rom zips without inflating the size of their package too much.
edit : It's playing image sequence so technically , higher fps wont exactly make it very much smoother but it will definitely play back faster so you'll get the fast motion feel.

The Boot Box Project is a community project that aims to produce a large database of easily accessible Boot Animations. What makes the Boot Box Project powerful is your ability to contribute, users may submit their boot animations directly from the Boot Box app (beta version 2.0 required).
Boot Box started as an attempt to put all of my work, free of charge, in an app - eventually it expanded towards the community and now everyone is allowed to submit their work. Boot Box is a must have for anyone who loves to customize their phone.

Some features of the Boot Box App:
Dynamic Database. Animations are fetched and updated dynamically from a database on the Boot Box server.
Categories: show/hide certain animation categories*
Upload your boot animations directly from the Boot Box app.
The built-in Boot Box Uploader creates the required resources for you, including the GIF Preview.
Scrambler: allows you to play a different boot animation at every boot.
Boot Box Factory: create your own boot animations straight from Boot Box based on a static image or on a set of images.
Animations can be previewed via a YouTube video (if the uploader provides a link), via a GIF preview, or via a ZIP preview (the animation is downloaded and played in a simulated environment).
Animations have a thumbnail that gives you a small idea of the animation before previewing it.

Flexible boot animation and cache locations for different devices.

Support Notes
Boot Box currently supports the following five resolutions: 768x1280, 720x1280, 800x1280, 480x800, 1080x1920. If your device's resolution isn't listed, install and use Boot Box at your own discretion (I wouldn't like to hear about a 320x240 phone "exploding," or refusing to boot, after loading an animation with 1080x1920 assets, please!).
Gingerbread support is currently limited.

As of May 25, there are currently only 10 boot animations on the 768x1280 section of the Boot Box beta (unless you have a Nexus 4, then an extra two become available). All animations on the server will be listed in the app though
I'm going to add more animations soon, they should begin to show up without the need of an update.

Custom boot animations seem to have issues on Samsung phones running touchwiz. Patches that fix these issues do seem to exist.
If I'm able to embed these patches into Boot Box, then these devices will also be fully supported

Very nice, I am using a workaround for boot anis on this device(bootanimations4all) and this app works well. Would like to see an option to choose storage(cache) location though. On some devices (sammys) /storage/sd is still internal.
##edit## You may be able to work out incorporating that modd (with devs approval of course) into your apk. As I understand it, its a script that points to the/a .zip instead of the new .qbs thang.##

I'll work on alternative cache locations after I release v1.2, it's 99% done - users can now use Boot Box to make a static boot animation out of an image. If anybody would like to test this feature feel free to PM me

New Boot Box update is available (v1.6)
NEW! Create your own boot animation based on a slideshow (a set of alternating images).
-Flexible Cache Location, you may now move the cache directory to your SD Card ( @stewwmann ).
-Fixed a bug that occurred with the scrambler when the device had no boot animation installed.
-Fixed a bug that caused the Boot Box Factory to accidentally delete the original picture.
-Added a "Report a bug" menu.

HI , I have my work want to share with you guys. It 's a samsung boot animation in .qmg format , like the original boot animation in ROM . I've test on my GALAXY S2 and GALAXY S4 and it's OK.
The things you do before test my work is
-backup original bootsamsung.qmg ; bootsamsungloop.qmg and shutdown.qmg in system/media and then flash my zip with recovery.

I simply click on last frame and SHIFT + click on the first frame .Then drag to the first frame of application . After that I random check it's series . And I named picture in series by number.

You can use it weather you are using 3 minit or not since it will replace your default battery icons .
After use it if you have a nightmare and need to revert back . You can go into folder data/media/UniversalFlasher and copy the backup zip in that folder to paste in sdcard or external sd and flash it with CWM ( you can see it's path and it's name just after finish flashing my work before "press any button to continue" ).

for me ,i use only 480*800 dpi 40millisec and boot about60 frame loop about 20 and shut 40 frame and it can use in both my s2 and s4

You will have the ability to enable custom Boot Animations for those running stock Roms. This mod will also install the ever so difficult to create "qmg" shutdowns! I have enjoyed boot animations since I started messing around with phones. I finally felt comfortable enough to start making my own and this is how i did it:
1 - First is you need an animation such as a video clip or gif whatever. I personally like them to be less than 30 seconds with the main focal part about 10 secs. By that time the phone has started up.
2 - then you need to extract the frames/convert using infanview or similar app, to image format, jpg is smaller, png is better quality and some just plain look better this way. Using Irfanview in the "options" menu click "extract all frames" then you can fine tune using "file" menu "batch conversion/rename" option
3 - download Boot Animation Factory and thank the dev for such a great tool for previewing and creating Boot Animations. From there the app will take you to creating the bootanimation.zip file needed for your phone.
4 - Then it's just a matter of getting it to where it needs to be. You can check my thread here which gives all the the different locations for various phones store the file for manual installs. There is also the "flashable zips" and "the Aroma Installer" for multiple options!
5 - last thing is to give thanks and credit where it's due and share your wonderful new creations with all of us here on XDA!!! Thank you

This bootaniation flasher works fine if I don't preview more than 3 or 4 of the animations, after
that the aroma installer just freezes.
When that happens the only way to get the phone back to normal is to boot it into recovery or
download mode.
Seems the more time spent in the aroma installer, the more likely that the phone will freeze.

It should work, but the resolution is set for 1440x2560 so they might not show properly. The mod should still enable the use of custom zips and then you could adjust the individual animation as you see fit. PM me if you have questions. Thankd
UPDATE: First off thank you to everyone for the support and patience. I know the v1 had some "double option choices" and a few animations didn't work. I have went through and tested further and confirm they work now. I also added a couple more choices. I still need to work on the "previews" for some of them, about half are done right now. If the previews aren't available to view during recovery they are most likely available in the OP. Again thank you for your patience!!

my understanding is that "Sprint uses a different name for there animation and this mod does not support that at this time, sorry Sprint...

Your boot animations are great, thanks for making them available. I've gone thru this post several times but I can't find the shutdown
animations. Can you plz tell us where to find them and how to install them if they install differently than the boot animations. Thanks.

what do u think of this one I made a while back for the note 3... had to modify it a bit for the note 5 but its not completely done (and it wouldnt let me gif it all the way, whats shown is 1/4)

I do have a request. Would you mind adding in the stock Note 5 boot/shutdown animations too please? There is always someone that inevitably requests it anyway.

Yes, I used to drive a stang, my account is from way back when I was rollin in my droptop 5.0 cobra!!!!
It was fun, but I needed a more professional car and after having it parked for a couple ayrs decided someone else could probably get more out of it!!

I had originally ruled "Sprint" out and I believe I even posted in the OP not supporting Sprint devices?
Question then, Did you manually insert the bin files and bootanimation zip or did the Aroma work for you?

Hi, thanks for this great mod, but is there anyway we could get the green matrix code raining down. or barring that a walkthrough of how to add custom animations to your installer?
Edit: It was actually pretty easy to replace one of yours with a custom animation. Finally got my matrix code. Props man, your installer is the only way i could finally get it. Every other method i tried left me with a black bootscreen.

Hey everyone,
recently I wanted to change the boot animation of my S7 to the Google Pixel animation. But what bothered me was that the first screen you see when the phone boots up was still saying "Samsung Galaxy S7". I wanted something that changes the boot animation to the Google Pixel boot animation and the Kernel Splash to the Google logo (instead of the Samsung logo). So here it is:
Black Google Pixel Bootanimation and Kernel Splash
This will work on S7 Edge a.k.a. 935F/FD, but I'm not sure if the resolution of the kernel splash image is correct for these devices.
Important
The kernel splash will always work on S7 and S7 Edge, regardless of the Android version.
The boot animation works on TouchWiz Marshmallow and all AOSP versions.
However, the boot animation currently doesn't work on TouchWiz Nougat, because Samsung changed the format of the boot animation to a proprietary .qmg format. I'm trying to make it available for TouchWiz Nougat too, but it is very hard since Samsung's tool to make .qmg boot animations is very old and outdated.
Stuff I did
I converted the bootanimation images to vector gaphics (.svg) and then back to .png to improve image quality and remove the white border around the Google logo/dots.
I precisely resized the Google logo to be centered in the Kernel Splash screen, as the Bootloader doesn't allow for fullscreen images to be shown. That's also the reason why there's only a black version available. With the white version, you would see a broad black strip at the top of the display (because the bootloader doesn't permit full screen images).

Still not working. Now it flashes but is the stock samsung bootanimation. Maybe it has something to do with the Nougat bootloader or something.
For the Splash I would love to see the Google one but with all the letters in white color and also another with the android logo

Well it worked for me, I don't know what it is about you. Maybe Samsung changed the location of the boot animation in nougat.
Okay, I will try to make those happen
In the meantime you can extract the bootanimation.zip file out of the system/media directory of the zip you downloaded and move it to /system/media of your device. Don't forget to set the permissions of bootanimation.zip to -rw--r---r-- (644)

Yep, seems like Samsung changed the location of the boot animation files. Normally they are in /system/media
I am on AOSP nougat and it works for me...
I will try to create an extra zip for Nougat TouchWiz.
Kernel splash should work nevertheless though.

I am not sure if the kenel splash will work because the location of the kernel ramdisk changes in every samsung phone. For example, it was sda5 on galaxy s6 and on s7 it is sda7.
The boot animation should work though, no risk in flashing it.
