I suspect you will have to choose a different launcher like Nova.

I am looking to buy the moto one vision or the samsung m40 .I am really into custom roms and have installed them on over 4 or 5 devices. As far as I know EXYNOS processors are hard to be exploited for custom roms to be developed as compared to their snapdragon competitors. So will custom roms be made for the one vision in the future. If not please suggest me a phone with punch hole under 350$ or 20000 rupees

Quick question, guys. Does the Vision show 'Turbo charging' when using the stock charger or just 'Charging'?

It shows "turbo charging" with both my stock turbo chargers for Moto Z2 Play and Motorola One Vision.
But with older normal charger it says just "Charging".

Am I the only one who's noticed that the touchscreens and especially the keyboard be comes quite a bit less responsive while the device is charging? Using original charger btw

Stock charger for Motorola One Vision does not show Turbo. Strange...
Guess I should get it checked?
PS - Other chargers work fine. Moto G4 Plus, for example.

Did you remove the 'protective' layer over the screen?

Yes and I bought a tempered glass screen cover and put it on

Same issue here but not only when it is charging. Apparently the display protection is the issue. Try removing and see if you do better.

I removed the screen protection and now it seems to be more sensitive, however I do want to be able to use a tempered glass cover in the future to make the phone last longer. Do you think this could be solved either with a software update or by getting different brands of protectors?

Yes, you can root it. The best way appears to be via Magisk. Once rooted, you can remove unwanted apps. However, the auto-update function won't work anymore once the device is rooted. You will have to install any future updates through adb.
There are other downsides as well, hence I have decided against rooting for now.

What can you say about the speaker? Isn't it too quiet? Can you hear the ringtone? How compared to the stereo in the Moto G7+?
My previous phone was 5,2', 16:9. The screen won't be too narrow for me?

On the other hand faster charging will hurt the battery in the long run. I never turbo charge for this reason.

[REQUEST] Touch screen calibration

Hi,
Just wondering if any devs will come across this thread since I was hoping that they can make somehow a touch screen calibration app for the z1 since it really has touch issues. You may refer to the thread found in the sony forums and youtube to see how worse is the issue.
Touch screen fails to recognize touches and its really annoying that it affects the daily use and you cant use your phone when gaming..
I really hope someone kind will help me out as this will also be a great help to other people who have the same exact problem.
Many thanks.

is that stock rom? My phone is not rooted. I haven't heard of that firmware version yet.
EDIT: the update is only for telstra users only.. no update is found on PCC and SUS.

Is there a difference between your flashable zip and the one here in the forums? my model is c6903 LTE. will it affect my phone since I'm using what's designated in my country. Or if that did not solve the issue can I use SUS to revert back to my original firmware?
EDIT ADD: so you do have before the touch issue when using the phone during games and when its flat on a surface in which the phone stops registering touches?

I just merged 259's system in flashable .257 zip.
You can uncheck all "Wipe:" and uncheck Kernel only and check all others in "Exclude:" to prevent overwriting your system or baseband.
I'm using C6903 UK LTE, I flashed my zip and kernel only and I can still use LTE on .259 with no problem.
Yes, you can always use SUS or Flashtool to reverting back.
My issue was during games.

Thanks for the detailed explanation mate, I'll send a pm also to you later. I'll try what you have said by the time I got home. I hope it works. For the mean time, may I ask a favor? can you please try placing your z1 on a flat surface and try running the service test to see if the problem is really solved since the issue is very hard to replicate. Several tries/attempts are needed.
First try placing your phone on top of a paper, then on a pillow and last is on a flat table.
Sorry to trouble you but you really got my hopes up for my ****ty z1.

Thanks mate, been waiting for your reply as I'm refreshing the page once in a while. Have you tried continuous lines or scribble since that triggers the problem when you're using the screen continuously without lifting your finger.
Sorry if I'm really bothering you but I really just have to confirm and once this fixed the problem, I can share your tip to the guys at the sony forum so that they will be freed from the touch screen curse. I really appreciate your help and effort.

Thanks dude, I've been trying to replicate the issue by swirling and swirling until the line is broken. I'm itching now to try to flash what you have told me and I hope it works.
Thank you very much for your time and effort. oh By the way, before you flash the .259 is the problem extreme or very persistent?

Yep, that's my main gripe with the touch issue as it loses touch and returns again. I'll try what you have told me at home then if it works or not I'll get back to you.
I'll be holding on to what you have said that the touch problem is not there anymore since you flashed .259 :good:
users on .259 reported that their touchscreen issue was not solved even after updating to .259
Really sucks since my problem gets from worse to worse day by day

So your saying that flashing the 259 kernel alone would be enough to eradicate the touch screen issue? Don't really want to flash another rom but it is annoying.

If you get it then put it out here, let the community benefit.
As for customer support, i emailed them about the bootloader issue with people who have a status of No and the response was just like i was speaking with a robot, i asked is there a way around it and that the previous response was neither helpful nor educational and I got another of the same responses, i've sent a third email asking if they just copy and paste an email from a list and if I don't get a human response with at least a glimmer of hope then i'll be boycotting Sony for life and i'll make sure everyone knows how poor their services are.
I've never asked them a question in my life, I did mention that and this is the response I get, lol forget that, I've learnt a few lessons from getting this phone, first one being never buy a sony again and second, always check if the bootloader is unlockable and not locked because of a networks request.

lolipop sim card bug ?

While I really love the new lollipop release with all my part there seem to be a bug relating to the sim card.
It happens a few times each day that the phone unmount/cant detect sim card.
What happens is that you can have the phone on your table then when you pic it up it will request for sim pin code.
This is a quite serious problem since I want to be able to reached 24/7
Some other person in the lollipop confirmed he had the same problem.
Both we and him seem to have the same problem and it happens when you toggle off mobile data.
Which I always do when I do not want any notifcations from IMs.
I hope there is any solution of this. Also could more people confirm they have the same problem ?
Yes I have the same problem. Mate 7 in the Netherlands. And its also confirmed on frandroid.
That same problem I have. Maybe huawei do it update to repair this bug. We must wait and see
Wysłane z mojego HUAWEI MT7-L09 przy użyciu Tapatalka
Good then we can confirm it is software related ( I was worried that it was hardware since I did just send mine back inf for service it turns out everything besides motherboard is new)
I suggest we spam the huawei support right now, cause this is a very important bug.
uptime and reachabilbity must be the priority number one... otherwise I am very very very very very happy with the lollipop update.
Have some one been figuring out how to avoid this bug and what exactly cause it how to replicate and avoid it ?

I have the same problem, rolled back before I could try a solution that some say work.
Try disabling touch-disable mode. It's set to ON by default.
You can find it under 'Settings -> Smart Assistance -> More'

Just like my LG G2 did only hold 3 months my G3 hold only a few weeks, one fall at the ground was enough, LG devices is one of the most vulnerable devices for sure.. the digitizer stopped working.. . While I had my G3 I had sent in my Mate 7 to service. only a couple of days after I cracked the G3 screen I received the Mate again pretty good timinig, and the speed of Lollipop made me really like the device, it opened a new dimension for this device for sure

Still no solution? I have read that the old nexus 5 have had a similar problem.

Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL) simple unboxing and testing

Original post from my blog: https://www.ewjy.pw/asus-zf3-unboxing-en/
Actually, some of the photos were retaken afterwards.
I bought a Asus Zenfone 3 as the new main phone several days before, the model number is ZE520KL. I was very nervous because that was the first unboxing I had ever did. The original video was cancelled due to technical problems and I used pictures instead. Alright, here are the appearances:

A final screenshot, did you find something weird? I am not sure whether it is a bug or it is true.
The responding speed of fingerprint module is quite fast, about 1(+/-1)s. In my opinion, it is quite cost-effective.
This is the first unboxing and testing of mine, there are many mistakes, I apologize for that.

Erm the ASUS websites worked well here for both Taiwan site and the global one. The camera is quite good for me as I'm not a professional photographer, you may view the photos I've taken in my original post for references.

Oops I might be misunderstood. After double checking, I found that ZE552KL has two versions with 3/4GB RAM+32/64GB ROM. The main difference between 520KL and 552KL is the screen size (5.2" for 520 and 5.5" for 552). Sorry for misleading you.

The battery is small, too in ZE552KL. It's good to know that 5.5 variant has 3GB variant, I was dying to get that confirmation. Let's hope asus launch that one too on 17th in India.
It's this one http://store.asus.com/tw/item/201607AM070000812 I picked it up in Taipei on July 15

Yes, this phone supports dual SIM and dual active, but the SIM2 and the microSD card share the same slot, so you have to choose between SIM2 or microSD (i.e. you cannot insert SIM2 if you inserted microSD card).

Sorry, I may confused. After checking Asus Taiwan Store again, there is NO 3GB variant for ZE552KL. I am not sure if there is 3GB variant in other countries. Sorry for providing unclear information.

It looks gorgeous, but the fp placement ruined it
I prefer the front fp placement because of unlocking from the table right away without lifting the phone. The Huawei phone with rear fp, will have on screen navigation keys (= less screen estate) as Huawei barely uses Capacitive ones. And i think this shape takes least space compared to the round iphone or on the meizu phone. So ease of use and maximum usage of front bottom bezel.
The best fp placement is on the side (in the power button)

It will be the same, just read the article over at XDA
So you are saying the 6X is the international variation of the Magic, do you have a link to that information, if so it's best to hold off and get the X6, the Magic has so much crap in it.

Make sure you get an unlocked version and see if setting up english language works for you as changing the system language is easy but apps still shows chinese. And also, you may need to work and put some effort in getting google work. ( no google framework or playstore).
Do check properly and get some hands on rather ordering online or checking a dummy handset.

Yep. I know about phones in china, no phones are locked in china, unless sold from dedicated carriers, but some carriers request a dedicated sim slot for there sim, but from the information in huawei's site, both slots is opened to all network, but one will be locked to 2G, if the other is using 3G or 4G.
and yes, play store is not available in china, it needs to be modded into the phone, some will work, whiles some don't, I'll just have to try, otherwise I will just have to side upload apk.
Thanks

CSN2 headunit?

Hey guys,
I have a headunit for a Honda Accord, running on Android 8, 4GB of RAM.
Here is a pic from the system information screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
As you can see, the unit doesn't have either a MTCD or MTCE designation, it only says "CSN2_10232018_152600".
It seems to display some weird values (temperatures?) in the next line.
Googling terms like "CSN2 android" or "CSN2 headunit" didn't bring up any results.
The unit was bought from Klyde.
Does anybody know what unit this is, where does it come from, where can I find firmware for it?
I have exactly the same MCU Version in my new PX5 4/32 GB android device in my mazda.
The brand name of the device is ZWNAV .
I bought it directly from an aliexpress seller. And I have no idea what that MCU means
It works very well and I have no problems but I would like to know some more about it.
So if anyone can brighten this up, I would be happy.
Just wanted to give you a link to the product: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Autostereo-Android-8-4-32G-Car-DVD-Player-GPS-navigation-For-Mazada-5-Premacy-headunit-multimedia/32913733250.html
It looks like any other mtce-device but seems to have another mcu software.
I would like to know if I could flash another rom to this device to have more control over it.

I have the same unit. If you need a firmware, I can send you a link to my google drive (not allowed to post links on xda yet). Also this device is being simply rooted in the way as MTCD/MTCE devices.
Looks like CSN2 will replace MTCD/MTCE platform.

The Chinese seller told me that it is not compatible with MTCD/MTCE and it is a completely different platform, the same was discussed on russian 4pda.ru

How do you know that?
What are the differences between the platforms?
If "CSN2" denotes the platform, then how to find out who is the manufacturer?

There are rumors of new units that are starting to roll out of China that have some of the Android 8.0 issues fixed, mostly dealing with bluetooth and wifi hardware issues. Maybe these are those mystery units?
What version of Android did your CNS2 unit come with?

Never mind, I didn't read.

Android 8.0.0, Bluetooth and WiFi work well. At least my unit is OK.
Mine ist Android 8.0.0 too, bluetooth works perfectly and connects automatically to my android phone. WiFi ist weak as on every other device I had before. It does not connect to my home network even if it is near. I have to use a wifi repeater im my car to get it connected (xiaomi mi wifi repeater).
I own this CSN2 headunit too, have it installed in my 09 Toyota Camry.
I did not like it, software is not very good.
Default ES file explorer cant send files through WLAN. I updated it to latest version, but it says "connection lost". Every file I need to use a pendrive to put it inside the unit.
LED illumination does not work well, but I belive this is a specific problem of my unit.
In settings, display size, another issue. When set to "large", icons on main screen get messed up.
Searching now for some app that adjusts volume level according to GPS speed...
My other headunit is a RK3066 4core 1GB RAM, and I use an app that makes this job fine.

No. They are simply different units than mtce.
Mtce is still alive...and evolving..
Different makers are moving to their respective strategy in terms of mcu. Perhaps the mtce marked was saturated and they (klyde) are building something by their own

To be honest, I expected to get MTCD/MTCE unit as there were no info that PX5 could be different... I've just found the one with good hardware and price. I was a bit surprised to find CSN2 there
My headunit though has an MTCE_CSN on it. I wonder where can i find any updates sooner
Just be carefull with this seller on Aliexpress (ZWNAV), no support, fake product description, IPS screen mentionned whereas it is TFT screen!

Yes, you're right... Not all Chinese sellers are transparent.

Is there any way to root or install a custom firmware?
The built in firmware has a UI that is not easy to operate. There is no apps menu, all the apps are placed on the screens to the right, and are not sorted by name...
Is it possible to make a backup of the the factory firmware ROM?
---------- Post added at 03:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:35 PM ----------
I tried to change display size, but the screen became completely messy...
I bought a pumpkin 8.0 which had CSN2. I returned it since I couldn't install Hal9k's ROM.
Now, I bought a Eonon unit from a seller in Hong Kong. Already installed Hal9k ROM and loving it.
The seller is superb responsive, they sent me an updated MCU file and the original stock ROM.
Great!
meazz, did you try to install this custom ROM on this csn2 unit? What did you get?
could you please send me these files?
Could you please show us the main interface?
Did anyone succeed to install it?
