Bootloader/fastboot mode question - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

I was just curious when you guys put it in fastboot mode what does your device say. most of everything in mine is blank, when I was on the pixel this is how I always made sure my bootloader was updated. I wish I would have paid attention when I was stock to see if it was blank there too.

Yeah definitely, if its not too much to ask. Right now I have no SD card because of not removing it safely so it destroyed it going back and forth between my phone and tablet, but once I get another one I definitely wanna get the recovery fixed in my tablet.

Right now there is no any method to remove that. I want to remove it too. But as development progresses, I believe there will be a solution.
For now, it's a no
I hope it gets fixed soon.
It's baked into the boot image. If you follow a logcat closely, you can see where it pulls in the insecure bootloader screen. I believe it's doing it by offset and length. It may be possible to modify the boot image to put in a different image but I've not delved that deeply.

It's more than I'm able to really do, perhaps someone else can give it a shot. It's annoying but doesn't impact the device at all.

It happens to the best of us I hard bricked my Google G1 back in the day...it was TOAST. Thankfully, it's a lot easier to recover from what might seem like a brick these days! I think it's
fastboot flash <ROM file>
but let me double-check that.

OnePlus 7 stuck in "Your device is corrupt it can't be trusted" after locking the boo
Help. I've made a big mistake. I can only access the Bootloader. Recovery mode is not accessible.
As with the 7 Pro, I didn't like the standard 7 and decided to return it. Thought it would be a good idea to lock the bootloader before doing so.
OnePlus support won't help me and they are telling me that I can't return the device anymore. "Repair is the only option now" even though I'm in the 30 days return window.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass, but I can't really figure out how to get back to OxygenOS now. Everything is in Chinese...
Also, will this procedure mess with anything on my device?

I've looked through it but couldn't find anything. Sorry, I am extremely stressed out as tomorrow I am supposed to return this phone and I want to make sure that it passes inspection.
So, I did the following:
- Used the unbrick tool which lead me to HydrogenOS
- Installed the latest OxygenOS version on top of it
- Did a factory reset, and so far everything looks to be in working order.
Am I missing anything here? Are there any possible changes done to the device so that it won't pass inspection?
Sorry again for being so annoying...

So if OxygenOS works and you also did a factory reset, your device should be fine. Check bootloader status. But it should be locked.

Already unlocked bootloader on my pixel 4 XL

Followed the same instructions here: https://www.the***********.com/unlock-bootloader-google-pixel-3-xl-guide/
and it worked. I know this is probably obvious to everyone on this forum, but just in case anyone was wondering if the version from google was easily unlock able out of the box, it is. I was able to get the device early as a product advocate. Being that not a lot of people on XDA have the device yet, I may be the first person to unlock their Pixel 4 XL?

I don't understand what you need a link for. Isn't it like every other device? Turn it on fastboot mode, hook up to your PC, check to make sure it's read, type in fastboot oem unlock, boom. Am I missing something?

For those asking, no I haven't tried to root it yet. I just wanted to start playing with the device and signing in to all my stuff. No point in doing that first without unlocking the bootloader cause just like with any other phone that will factory reset everything. Better to unlock the device first before you start customizing it to you liking. Most likely root can be achieved without wiping again.
What command are you using? I tried fastboot flashing unlock and it just shows the help menu and fastboot oem unlock gives an error. On win 10 here. That link is incomplete?
ETA: I ended up using a tool and setting it to pixel/ pixel xl and it worked but its all for not, I think I'm returning the phone. I just am not happy with the way the face unlock works with ambient display, it ends up unlocking the phone when I just want to check my notifications lol. C'est la vie!
