*** REQUIRES ROOT PERMISSIONS ***
*** NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANDROID 4.2 ***
BlueCtrl is an open source Bluetooth input device emulator that can control remote devices. This means that you can use the touchscreen and keyboard of your Android device to control other devices which support Bluetooth.
Because this app is using the Bluetooth input standard, it supports various operating systems without any special server software. It has been successfully tested with the following systems:
Android
iOS
Linux (Fedora, Ubuntu...)
Mac OS X
PlayStation 3
Windows
Please note that if you want to use this app with Microsoft Windows, you probably need to disable a conflicting Android service. For more information look at:
https://github.com/RonsDev/BlueCtrl/wiki/Bluetooth-input-service-conflict
This app requires root permissions because it needs direct access to the Bluetooth adapter. Another restriction is that it is only compatible with a specific Bluetooth stack that is called BlueZ, which is used on many but not all devices with a Android version smaller 4.2.
What's new
New system specific touchpad gestures
The gestures are now optimized for the chosen remote device system. Linux and Windows systems also got a new setting for the gesture mode. So, for example, if you are using Windows 8 you can configure the appropriate gesture mode to enable the special Windows 8 edge gestures.
New interactive touchpad tutorial
The interactive tutorial will explain all gestures for the current system and can be activated via the menu.
New menu item for composing text
This is especially helpful if you want to write a longer text because you can keep your eyes on the device and see what you write and it also allows you to correct the text before it is send.
Voice input can be corrected before sending
Voice input will be displayed in a edit box before it is send so that you are able to correct misinterpreted words.
New "Stay awake" setting
This setting prevents that the device is going into standby and disconnects the connection. To save some energy the screen will however be dimmed after 30 seconds of inactivity.
New "Scroll sensitivity" setting
You can long press the keyboard button to change the input method

Hey,
This app sounds great, running a rooted SGS2 running XXLPB ICS (4.0.3). Have installed and all appears fine, trying to manipulate my PS3 with it nothing happens... Does it only work for custom OSs on PS3? or does it work with the standard PS3 'XMB'?
Cheers
P.s. I realise that I have used a very large amount of acronyms... many apologies, but I estimate to have saved myself a small age in not writing them all out!
Works well ! Thanks for this apk.
I try it with another android device and it runs.

Could you send me the log message of the error?
What IDE do you use to build this app? I'm new to Android and so far I've just used Eclipse. In your source code I didn't see gen folder with R class.
I also met problem when connecting two devices (two Android phones). after paring, I pressed "connect" button then I received a message "Connection refused. The remote device is busy or the devices aren't correctly paired".
Is there a phase to enter the key used to pair two devices? If yes, I didn't see that phase.

The app is build with the Ant build tool on the command line (see the README) but I use Eclipse to develop the Java code. The gen folder will be automatically generated if you build the project.

Before you press the “connect” button you should wait a little until the other device shows that the devices are paired (sometimes the “connect” button is enabled too early because Android reports that the devices are paired even if the pairing process hasn't finished yet). Before that you should normally see a pairing request dialog or notification where you enter or confirm the key.
Thaks alot
Out of all the applications o the market yours is the only one that works on all systems. If you want to post a donation version on the android market I'll gladly donate to help you improve your work.
Hey thanks for the app. Its amazing. I was the first post but I got one thing that I was wondering if you could look into.. I have two devices. A htc g2. And a Samsung galaxy player 5.0. Both rooted but g2 on cyanogenmod. And galaxy player on stock. This app works on my g2 but the galaxy player gets this error. The application encountered a problem and cannot continue (error -53). Please help!

Sorry for the late response.
If you are familiar with ADB, it would be helpful if you could try to start the app again and send me the result of the following command:
Code:
adb logcat bluectrld:D *:S
I am very familiar. And will try to get it to you right away

Amazing App! Though I connected my phone to another Android phone and wondering what gesture is the Home button.
2 Fingers is the Back button
3 Fingers is the Menu button
Also I tried connecting it to my iOS device and I get the "Connection Refused" message. On my iOS device it just keeps on trying to connect? Has anyone else got this problem?

Have you seen the "More information" part on the "Add device" screen and followed the instructions?
2 finger swipe left worked for the Android Home
And I got connected to my iOS device but no pointer (not your fault, **** iOS fault). Thanks man, really helped me with my Mac, great app!
Btstack
hi guys! great app! I wish I could use it! lol Actually... just tried it on my macbook pro... works great!
Okay so you say it can connect to iOS but no pointer? But the BTstack tweak in cydia is supposed to solve that issue.
However I can't connect to my ipad 2. here's what I sent to the developer of BTstack mouse:
"Hi, I've tried to find a solution for a while now, but to no avail. I go to connect the mouse and it just sits on the "mouse selector" page.
I have an ipad 2 (wifi only) (not the ipad2,4 either) jailbroken ios 5.1.1
Everytime I try to pair. it wont. Then the app blacks out and freezes my ipad. I'm then forced to do a hard reboot."
now... your app warns me that another Bluetooth input service is active on my device T-MOBILE HTC G2 cyanogen mod 7.
I click the link to read more info, but it doesn't really help me out. I would love an answer. maybe a how-to only have one bluetooth input service running on the G2 at a time? I really want to use my phone as a mouse, I already have an apple wireless keyboard that I use with my ipad a lot and would love the addition of a mouse. (I'm currently NOT trying to pair both at the same time.. fyi)
So if someone could help me out, this could be a big step in bridging the gap between ios and android and getting them to actually play nice together.
Thank you for your time!
Hi I had a g2 and I kinda have a ipad 2 and it worked flawlessly. What works is don't try to connect them from outside the app.
And if you need more in-depth help just ask

We released Screenshot Now on Play, it supports capturing without root on a lot of devices and will of course work as well when you do have a rooted device. There are so many features that we can't mention them all here.

Is it the same app as this one : Screenshot Ultimate ?
It seems that the presentation in googleplay are equivallent and it is the same seller !
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icecoldapps.screenshotultimate&hl=fr
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icecoldapps.screenshotnow
It is not clear if the application does work for unrooted devices without the need during the screenshot to connect the device to a PC
This test (in FAQ) is very strange, if something is installed in the smartphone it should be explained clearly.
The auto detecting didn’t find a single screen capture method!
It’s quite normal if your device isn’t rooted. The reason it’s hard for apps to take a screenshot is because Android normally doesn’t allow it for security reasons. But if you follow the manual inside the app you can easily fix it, without rooting your phone/tablet. Go to “Screenshot Now” -> “Help” -> “No capture method help” and follow the tutorial. You will use your computer (Windows, Linux or OSX) to install a small file on your phone which will enable screenshots. This is a small bug in Android which we use for taking screenshots. If you need help just contact us.

Those are some good questions! We made Screenshot Ultimate to be available for free but it misses some features compared to Screenshot Now. Screenshot Now also has a way better layout while Screenshot Ultimate is really simple.
The applications should work without root. On some unrooted devices the apps work without connecting to a computer but on most unrooted devices you need to connect your device to a computer.
What actually happens when you connect the device to a computer is that the computer runs a small script (which is already installed when you installed the app on the device) on the device which runs with root privileges. That causes the small script (which is part of the screenshot app) to take screenshots while normally that isn't allowed. When you reboot your device the script is automatically stopped and can only be started as root again when you connect your device again to a computer.
Let me know whether you understand everything or still have questions.
Thanks for the clarification.
Please let me know in case you still require a French Translation.

Just found this thread! Looking forward to the update! The test version of Screenshot Ultimate with the additional capture methods worked out the issues I had. Method 10 worked for me where no others did in the past. I'm running a droid bionic, rooted, with safestrap, on cm10.1. Thanks for the great work and prompt email replies! It's nice to work with great devs! Looking forward to this implementation into screenshot now!
@OlivierTheBest A french translation would be great. I just PMed you! If anyone else want to help with translating please let me know!
@BitGeeker Great to hear it works, but I think you're talking about Screenshot Ultimate, that one has a separate thread
I purchased Screenshot Now. I was sent the test version of Screenshot Ultimate. Was hoping the new capability would be integrated into Screenshot Now.
Sent using Motorola's locked boot loader. Especially designed to crush the creative mind!
Ah, ok. We'll implement the same new methods into Screenshot Now as well but that might take 1-2 weeks. If you want a refund for Screenshot Now just PM me.
Also, if you have more feedback about Screenshot Now please let me know!
Hello,
I'm trying to get my phone working as a MIDI controller/keyboard for my computer (music software like reason 7 etc..) but I can't really find any good tutorial, except one on YouTube using the app musical pro but the app force closes when using his way. Anyways, does anybody know a way to connect it (WiFi/USB), I'd be so happy if I can use it. I also checked out an app called ''EMC easy midi controller v2'' (not in the play-store anymore), for that you had to connect your phone using Bluetooth to the computer, but my computer can't find my phone and the other way around as well (win 8) and I tried a lot of trouble shooting. So:
-Does anybody have a way to use my phone as a midi?
-Can anybody solve the Bluetooth issue?
Thanks in advance! (I hope this is the right forum to ask this)
specs:
-HTC one V
-Android 4.0.3
-Sense 4.0
Anyone?

Hello, it's my first message on the forum even if I'm sticking with it since the first Nexus devices, thank you for all your work. I would like to know if it's possible to port a Rom from the Nexus Player to our device with a working Leanback Launcher and Cast features. It would be really interesting to be able to convert our powerfull device to an Android TV-like box connecting it to a 1080p TV. I am aware that requires a lot of work on the compatibility side due to the dofferent hardware but seems that the Nexus has all the features needed for such use.
Thank you. Have a nice day.

I just posted this response to a similar ATV port thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-explorer/general/help-port-android-tv-t3686800
I had the same question and this is my very first post too. Recently bought the Shield TV and while setting it up I was like “Why can’t phone h/w do this?” I have an old Nexus 5 (N5) with slimport and HDMI cable that puts out a nice display on my big TV.
So…
The N5 already had TWRP and LineageOS 14.1 (LOS) on it and that works very well. I use open-gapps for google apps. The N5 is called Hammerhead.
I see where open-gapps has tvstock build with the ATV framework apps (TIF core and base apps for play store and youtube etc.).
I’ve been playing with different configurations of the tvstock load on top of latest N5 lineage build. I have it booting and into ATV launcher. Several apps fail at boot time and it has limited capability so far.
Mods for tvstock install so far:
gapps-config.txt with most of base lineage apps disabled (audio, music, recorder, mail, etc.)
installer.sh:
--- mod to force the device_type to tv and set the core apps to tvcore
--- Mod to remove use of ATV’s setup wizard (setupwraith) that seems to crash and not allow launcher. Enabled normal LOS setup. The ATV setup also seems to disable ability to enable developer options too.
I created an XDA account just to explore creating a thread or something to see if anyone else has attempted ports. Web searches have not given much. Some RPi 3 info, Odroid boards and the Linaro stuff but that didn’t help me any as they don’t get into the details of how to configure the builds.

Have you made any progress with this "mod"?
I also have an old N5, but don't know if it can be turned into an Android TV-like device. Would be nice, since it can use google assistant, has good hardware, etc.
If you do manage to get it "fully" working, please post a step by step guide on what to install and what works what doesnt.
cheers!
Hey, was wondering if anyone knew if it supported ANT+. I use it for a lot of cycling related ANT+ products. I want to assume it supports it as the OP3 supported ANT+ but I'd rather know for sure than just assume.
Yep it seems to be compatible, but you need to install some plugins from Google Play Store. After installing those Endomondo finds my Garmin HRM and shows pulse (71 on the screenshot... sorry for the language on my Endomondo; it's finnish ). Haven't tried my other ANT+ components (speed and cadence) since I'm using those with my Garmin Edge 500.
OnePlus phones have had various issues with ANt+ feature, many users suffered over the yers. This thread gives some hope, however it is better if some one can someone actually upload pics with a ANT+ device in working condition. Then only it will be reassuring. Just imagine, a person buying this gadget USD 500+ and then realizing that it won't do ANT+?
I checked the GitHub code for ANT+ Android SDK and the last release was 2015. Even when I use an external Ant+ to USB dongle with OTG, I can install the service in Oxygen OS, but it says it does not support the new OS. I was hoping someone can comment on this. If the built-in software side of ANT+ is not functionally, it would be great at least folks update the GitHub branch so the USB dongle version of ANT+ works bottom line. Thanks
Hey guys, I am running Android pie on OP6,t and I managed to get my ant+ device working by allowing the ANT Radio Service application access to ANT hardware.
To do this:
1. Go to Settings
2. Apps and Notification (then See all # apps)
3. Scroll to ANT Radio Service and click on it
3. Click on Permissions
4. Click on Additional permissions
5. Toggle use ANT hardware on
Before I did this ANT tester app said that my phone is ANT capable, but also said No service and no firmware version. After I enabled it, the no service message disappeared and it could figure out the firmware version.
I also noticed that I can only have one app actively tracking my heart rate data (the others would not be able to find the sensor, so keep that in mind).
I included some screenshots for clarification.
Hope it helps!
Thanks BlackTourmalin!
This did the trick!
