HTC Sensation micro USB battery port brocken

Hi guys.
Earlier this morning. My HTC is not charging. I've check the micro-usb port and it appears that there is a problem in the port because there is a brocken pin. I've tried to re-align it and out of luck, the pin broke. I am wondering if it is difficult to replace the micro USB battery port of the HTC sensation. I saw a post on incredible S section and it's easy to replace it as the USB port is just connected on the board via ribbon. Have anyone have encountered the same issue. Worse case scenario is I will need to have the usb port be remove on the phone and replace by a new one, but I am not good on soldering stuff and I might mess the phone big time. I hope someone can reply thanks.

At ifixit you can see a picture, that shows, that the port is soldered to the board.
I think it will be hard to solder a new one to it, since the pins are very tiny. Maybe you can find a replacement board on ebay?

XOOM 2 Battery Problems and Bypass Fix needed

Hi
I have major problem with my tablet and usb socket has been pried from board have taken a quick look at damage and a replacement or solder of new one is out of question and metal contacts on pcb has been damaged also.
I am wondering if anyone knows a way of bypassing so I can still charge.
Can I bypass the small circuit board where USB connector is and hard wire battery connections directly onto USB itself.
This tablet has always served me so well dont want to give up on it just yet as cant afford a new one.
Fairly confident with soldering etc just curious as to whether it will work and best way to wire it up

Blu Pure XL Replaceable Parts? (USB Port)

Hello everyone, I've been looking for 2 days now on Parts for the Blu Pure XL (Gionee Elife E8) and I've came up with nothing...
I have a damaged USB Port and I know this cause I've tried every charger in my home and I've cracked it open to take a look and the prongs that connect it to the board are bent. If anyone could give me a source that sells Blu Pure XL parts that would be incredibly helpful!
Please reply URGENTLY.......

Just my thought, but aren't microUSB ports just... microUSB ports? It's not like the ports on different devices differs physically from others. You can use any microUSB cable on any phone with a microUSB port, can't you?
As for replacement parts, I'm not an expert on electronics (perhaps you're more knowledgeable than me), but can't you just swap in any new female microUSB port (or maybe even a USB Type C port, if you have the knowledge and if it fits)?
I'm not sure how the microUSB port is hooked up since I don't have the guts to open up my own Pure XL, but can't you unsolder/cut off your old port and solder in a new one (provided you have the knowledge)?

MicroUSB ports are not just... MicroUSB ports, there are different types of pin variations (But all are 4 pins) to fit certain types of boards.
I never thought of actually replacing the USB Port. It might actually work, but I'm a little hesitant since I paid $350 for my phone.
Thank you for the reply back and I will try this. By the way, USB Type-C has 24 pins and a MicroUSB has 4; it's possible to use the USB-C, but Id only be able to charge my phone and it would take QC capability away from my phone. If anyone could direct me to the actual PCB Board with the USB and the Speakers for the Blu Pure XL that would be awesome! (Until then I guess this solution will have to do.)
Crude Solution, but works.
So what I did what get into my phone and remove the Non-Removable Battery, spliced an old microUSB cable and connected the Red & Black wires to the P+ & P- of the Lithium Ion Battery. Seems to charge the phone fast, bust remember to keep an eye on it and to not let it overheat... Here is a picture of the outcome: http://imgur.com/98Zolef

Having the same problem but for mine it seems like the metal connector on the outside protrudes whenever I plug a cable into the port... pretty loose by the looks of it.
Methinks I might see if BLU can fix it though.

did you contact BLU?
were they any help?
my phone will only charge if the plug is held at a specific angle.

They weren't able to fix it so they sent me a new Energy XL instead. Slightly inferior specs but battery is outstanding.
Also ported CM 12.1 rather easily to it. But yeah, you're either going to have to fix it yourself or get a replacement Energy XL (they might allow you to get a Pure XR as well, not sure.)
Not to dredge up a old thread; But I still need a charge board for my pure xl; I posted something months ago; and shelved the phone until recently; and I would love to find a source of parts for this.

Hate to bring up an old post but can anyone direct me to a "how to" on installing a new usb pcb? I've disassembled my phone and it seems the only solder point is the lower left hand portion.. I don't see any way of disconnecting otherwise. Ought I un-solder whatever it may be? or is there another method. Sorry btw.

I'll take some pics, but honestly if you cant tell the disconnection points (they are VERY obvious on this phone)
then maybe you should hand this repair off to someone more experienced...

no, speakers are part of the back panel, it does drive the speakers though, the just are not attached to the board (spring connections)

Thanks for your reply, do you know where to get the panel, as my speakers are shot.
Thanks

I haven't seen it anywhere; but maybe try taking it apart and checking to see if the spring connections are making good contact...
So what is that big round thing the two wires are going to? My soldering skills aren't the greatest, so I want to make sure I'm not totally screwed if that's not connected.

All these boards seem to be out of stock
All the replacement USB pcba boards seem to be out of stock. I tried to purchase a USB port to replace the USB with but it's really difficult. Anyone know of a place I could buy the USB pcba board that has them in stock?
Replacement PCBA with USB
I also see it sold out at both Better deals and Blu phone parts.
I am asking (Allview) support in Europe but I don't hold much hope. Anyone else found these anywhere?
I bought mine in AliExpress but I think is out of stock. I found it as" Gionee s8 loud speaker "and the PCB from bluphoneparts

Difficulty to charge - No fast-charge anymore - No water-damage - Moisture detected

Hi there,
I found a similar thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...moisture-detected-error-t3423161#post69995530 but it seems to be dead already.
My G930F phone is not charging properly. When it does, it's just Cable Charging and not Fast Charging. I tried different chargers already and as far as I know it was not exposed to water. The water damage sticker is clean, but sometimes the phone will say that moisture was detected in the port when you plug the charger.
I'm starting to think that the USB port is damaged and needs to be replaced. This sucks because, based on some YouTube videos, it's apparently very difficult to replace the USB port without damaging the screen. Therefore, I'd also need to buy a new replacement screen
I already tried blowing compressed air into the port and putting the phone in rice. Do you guys have any other suggestion? I'm pretty sure this is a hardware issue, I'm just trying to avoid having to replace the port. Thank you!
Do you practice any kind of sports with you phone? Sweat is very aggressive to components parts.

Not with my phone. I have no idea why this could have happened, as it hasn't been in contact with water or humidity.

Anyone have issues with the usb cable easily slipping out while charging?

I've noticed an issue with ANY brand of usb cable slowly slipping out of the charging port. After gently pushing the cable all the way in and setting the phone down, the cable will somehow come lose on its own and sort of wiggle it's way out of the port. THis happens with or without the clear charger put on the phone. With other phones, I've felt a click or snap of the usb plug into the port, but not with this one.
Does this happen to anyone else? I'm about to write OnePlus to ask, but I ask you all first.. Thanks
No, mine has a normal snug feel...
It felt perfectly normal to me while I used it, but I've since added a wireless charging receiver in between the phone and case and now use a magnetic warp charger when I need wired charging. When I do unplug that receiver, it is definitely very snug in there and there's no chance it would just "wiggle out"
I have been facing the issue rn with my op 7 pro, have you got it fixed ? If yes, how ?

I sent it to. OnePlus, and they repaired or replaced the charging port and or the main board; I don't know exactly because they didn't tell me. I was under warranty.
Sent from my OnePlus7Pro using XDA Labs
Was happening mine and i cleaned out the phone usb port amd it's working perfectly again. You won't believe the amount of crap that builds up in the corners that can cause this problem
