So, not completely sure how Samsung, or Apple**** implements the functionality of outputting audio streams to 2 separate bluetooth devices, or outputting different audio streams (of different apps) to different devices, but could the oneplus 7 pro be made to do any of this? It would be useful, but it's not exactly something I'm dying for lol.
****iOS 13 announced ability to stream audio to 2 seperate AIRPODS, which probably means it won't work on anything other than airpods, or even on slihgtly older ihpones..
Samsung dual audio feature is said to have 2 seperate bluetooth chips, or some mechanism with having a broad spectrum of bluetooth bandwidth to act as 2.. Never could get any reliable sources unfortunately to confirm either.

Is there any phone out there that might make this possible?
Do I have to wait til someone finally gets native linux + usb host/otg on the same phone?
Maybe a bluetooth product might save the day.
I have been waiting 5 years for this capability, and I'm simply amazed it's so hard. These phones are 100x the power of my first computer, such a simple thing as stereo recording being beyond the hardware capabilities is nuts.
it's unclear what you are requesting stereo audio playback over wired headset ?
stereo recording?
stereo a2dp on linux?

to my knowledge, there are no phones with stereo (let alone high-quality) mikes available. Get a cheap stereo recorder. I've been using the Olympus DS-40 and (apart from the limiting 512M of memory) I kinda like it. Newer Oly models must be at least as good as this one - and I don't think Sony's (similarly-priced) recorders are worse, either.
Can anyone say whether the Pixel supports apt-x audio over bluetooth?
From what I have read it does not but, using my Sony SBH80 earphones, the audio doesn't sound any worse than it does on my Galaxy S7 Edge which does support it.
However, I've not tried listening to flac encoded tracks, I suppose I ought to for a proper test.
Did you ever find out the answer to this? I just got a new car (Nissan Rogue), and the bluetooth interface with my GS7e is horrible because the the GS7e doesn't have AptX.
I haven't found the definitive answer, no, but re your S7Edge, I am pretty sure it does support apt-x. Mine sounded excellent through bluetooth headphones that support apt-x.
I keep meaning to do some listening tests of wired versus BT on the Pixel.
I know that other devices with the Snapdragon 652 have AptX support, so I am hoping that the LP2Pro might have it too?
For example, the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra has it, even though it's not highlighted on many spec sheets.
Thanks if anyone can verify this.
I'd expect that if you connect to a bluetooth receiver/headset that the phone would pop up an alert about AptX streaming.
thanks
p.s. I wrote the headline to ensure that searches would find this
No aptx on this phone, sorry. I have 2 aptx devices and neither shows an aptx connection with this phone compared to my Xperia Z3.
I have an older Motorola Z Play running Oreo 8.0. The Developer Options do show AptX HD and LDAC as selectable codecs. I recently got a Bluetooth receiver allowing AptX HD. However, when I tried transmitting HiRes Audio my phone would not hold the AptX HD setting, and kept the AptX setting. I contacted Motorola and the agent told me the phone was not capable of this. Does this make sense? Is it possibly because it doesn't have a Bluetooth 5.0 chip? I am nearing the need for a new phone and was curious about the Motorola g Power and chatted with an agent. Again, I was told that the g Power, several years newer, and running OS 10, that it also does not support AptX HD or LDAC. Can someone explain why this may be on both situations, and if there is any work around? I'm assuming it may be hardware related and Motorola not using a Qualcom BT chip, but I'm relatively naive. I know if you're really an audiophile transmitting over Bluetooth is not ideal, but it would be nice to get the highest resolution while doing so.
Thanks for any information.
Does the Pixel 7 pro support output audio on multiple bluetooth devices? Like two sets of headphones so I can watch a movie or something with my wife on an airplane? Any reason why this is an issue with Pixel phones still?
