I know that other devices with the Snapdragon 652 have AptX support, so I am hoping that the LP2Pro might have it too?
For example, the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra has it, even though it's not highlighted on many spec sheets.

I'd expect that if you connect to a bluetooth receiver/headset that the phone would pop up an alert about AptX streaming.

No aptx on this phone, sorry. I have 2 aptx devices and neither shows an aptx connection with this phone compared to my Xperia Z3.

I got the EP-B40 from aukey and I was prepared to use the AptX capabilities with the pixel with android 8.

in development tools, I can see that they only connect using SBC. and this made me sad. anyone has any experience with forcing a codec?
i am not actually sure that they support aptx despite being advertised as aptx capable.
just tried with another phone and checked logcat and it also only connects with SBC. so it appears this headset does not support aptx.

I just got my Bowers & Wilkons PX7 headphone.
If the Adaptive Codec is activated, there is no sound at all.
I would be happy about a troubleshooting or something.

I think I saw your post over at the oneplus forums, but I'm having the same problem as you.
I tested the headphones on my oneplus 3t and aptx HD worked perfectly. There's even a transparent overlay when the headphones connect letting you know the audio is in HD.
THis is a no go on the oneplus 7pro.
I've created a bug post on their forums, let's hope it gets some attention (it likely won't as there aren't many of us using this tech yet!)

May I ask what OS you are using? I'm wondering if this is an Android 10 issue or if this existed on 9.x. I didn't have the opportunity to own these headphones before I had A10
The aptX HD codec is not the same as aptX Adaptive. While aptX HD has been around for awhile and is widely supported by devices using Qualcomm chipsets, aptX Adaptive is a brand new codec that as of yet has not been implemented in hardly any headsets. In fact, I think the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 is one of, if not the very first shipping headset with the new codec. I've used at least 2 or 3 wireless headsets on my OnePlus 7 Pro that utilized aptX HD without any problems. However, I am still on Android 9, so if you're on 10, perhaps the problem could be related to that...
I have an older Motorola Z Play running Oreo 8.0. The Developer Options do show AptX HD and LDAC as selectable codecs. I recently got a Bluetooth receiver allowing AptX HD. However, when I tried transmitting HiRes Audio my phone would not hold the AptX HD setting, and kept the AptX setting. I contacted Motorola and the agent told me the phone was not capable of this. Does this make sense? Is it possibly because it doesn't have a Bluetooth 5.0 chip? I am nearing the need for a new phone and was curious about the Motorola g Power and chatted with an agent. Again, I was told that the g Power, several years newer, and running OS 10, that it also does not support AptX HD or LDAC. Can someone explain why this may be on both situations, and if there is any work around? I'm assuming it may be hardware related and Motorola not using a Qualcom BT chip, but I'm relatively naive. I know if you're really an audiophile transmitting over Bluetooth is not ideal, but it would be nice to get the highest resolution while doing so.

I recently bought certified AptX Adaptive earbuds (Soundpeats H1), and while the official Qualcomm website says the AptX adaptive is backward compatible with both AptX and AptX HD, on my pixel 3 dev menu only AptX is detected (AptX HD is greyed out and can't be selected). Other AprX HD only options like 24bit audio are also greyed out.
I contacted the Google support service but they seemed unaware of the issue, and told me to contact the earbuds brand. But the earbuds work fine, and they truly are AptX adaptive, so I don't see how that could be an issue with them.
So I wanted to know if other users have been facing the same issue or if it's only me.
My Android is non rooted and up to date, if that's any importance.

Might be a bit late to reply... But it seems that aptx adaptive is only backwards compatible one way - an aptx adaptive phone can transmit to aptx hd headphones, but an aptx hd Phone can't transmit to adaptive headphones.

I bought some earbuds (Bang and Olufsen Beoplay EQ), which are compatible with it. But I can hear no sound, unless I switch the codec down to aptx..... Which is two times a pain, first because I have to downgrade the connections, and also because I have to manually do it every time!
I asked B&O support and they are blaming the phone saying it's not compatible -_-
Can someone confirm whether the phone is compatible or not?

I have find X5 pro and it is compatible with aptx adaptive. My bowers and Wilkins pi7 connected to aptx adaptive no problem. But when I connect my beoplay EQ it auto detects as aptx only. I think the fault is with the EQ
