I applied the new OTA last night, so of course I can't use unrevoked, but I don't have 4g service in my state at all so I'm just wanting to root my phone regardless of the issue they were having.
If someone could hook me up with the file I'd appreciate it.

got it at work. if you don't have it by tomorrow am drop me a line (PM) and I'll send it to you
I'm pretty sure you already had to be rooted in order for it to work in the first place, nobody has come up with a root from the update yet...
This fix currently supports the following Android phones:
Sprint EVO 4G (HTC Supersonic) that has not already been updated with the 2010-06-29 OTA update.

recalled unrevoked? was unrevoked overheating for it to be recalled? jokin if you were not rooted before the update then you will have to wait for a new root method. I do have the file if you are still in need of it.

I guess I misread this post? The way I understand it they released an unrevoked for the OTA that became available yesterday then pulled it.
androidforumsDOTcom/all-things-root-evo-4g/111390-unrevoked-ota-patch-1-47-651-1-out.html
Yea the unrevoked update won't help you. One you apply the official OTA you are out of luck.
Sorry.

Sigh, I was hoping to see the battery life some people were talking about with the custom roms. Thanks for clarifying.

No problem. I'm sure as soon as this whole WiMAX issue is sorted out there will be devs focusing on rooting the OTA.

Hey guys,
my InFuse just told me it has an update available. I postponed it right now.
Mine is rooted and unlocked.
Is is possible to safely do the update?
Thanks for your input.

There is a whole 4 pages dedicated to this in the general forum... Look there...
Just found it ... I am truely sorry! My fault!
it will most likely not work. it has to be stock
Does anyone know where the update is stored on the phone, I wanted to pull it and look over it and maybe attach it to a ROM. Also does anyone know what it does?

Update does not work for custom roms, i did it on infused 1.1.4, no dice
It checked for att's bloatware....if you've deleted it or frozen it, the update will fail...

Yeah im having problems with mine, but now its saying im up to date but the version posted in the other thread doesnt match. Going to reset and update tomorrow then redo it all
It worked fine for my stock rooted phone with bloatware and tethering manager completely deleted. Now running FROYO.UCKE3.
Same here... it updated successfully on my stock rooted Infuse with the bloatware all deleted. I am still looking forward to ROM development with the new baseband(radio) though.
Hey guys.
I was wondering, if I'm rooted but I flashed the stock recovery can I do OTA updates?
Thanks!

Not sure. But don't know why you would want to. Can break root and block all root and boot loader unlock exploits.

We wait for the devs to check the updates for safety and then flash them. Have never taken an OTA in years. I like root and unlock. Don't want to be stuck stock.

I'm pretty sure you will lose root, so is that worth it to you? Or would you rather wait till all the devs are using the g7 base? Some are already on the G7 base right now.

Is that all that will happen? Or is there a possibility of bricking?
It could brick your phone if you've unlocked your bootloader. Otherwise you will lose root.
If you want to read all the discussion on the ota update do a search for it. There was umpteen threads about the same topic.

How do I know if I've unlocked my bootloader?
Last one, you have to use the search if you got more questions. Or wait for someone else to answer.

Title says it all. On 4.4 now, rooted, wp-off, unlocked. If I took the ota to the latest 4.4.4, will wp-off be retained? I'm fine with losing root as long as I can fastboot twrp and root that way. Wp off is my main question.

Dude I already answered this same question last night. I understand that you're apprehensive about losing root but damn! Kinda like saying that you don't believe me! Which is fine. But don't ask questions if you're not gonna believe the answer. Research it yourself in that case

Sorry bud, nothing personal. I appreciate your input, I really do. You're spot on, OTA's make me nervous. Not a lot of info I could find just googling so I figured I'd crowd surf one last time to see if a second party could confirm. Haha, it's me being paranoid rather than not believing you.

Yes.
I used Sunshine on 4.4 (rooted), then FXZ'd to 4.4.4 and had to manually flash TWRP and then eventually root by flashing SU.
Cool, thanks for the replies. My OTA kept failing even with disabling all my root apps, Xposed, etc. I just used RSD lite with the latest .24 update, flashed TWRP, and rooted it, all good. Was very simple, so if anyone else is doing this and nervous about OTA's like myself, there's really no need to even use them if you don't want.
Just got my droid mini last night. Updated to 23.3.24 ota.
Sorry if this has been answered before but I'm wondering if its too late to apply the subshine method or will it work fine?

Hi everyone,
I know I am going to sound very annoying but I have googled various threads for hours and I still have not come close to an answer, so please be easy on me. I am a total noob!
So basically, Long story short, I bought this Moto G 2015 (4th Gen - Xt1072 the 5inch screen one) earlier this year, and it has been very slow ever since! So now, I am getting notifications that I cant update to 5.1!
The issue is, my phone is rooted, and I would like it to remain rooted! So, I am assuming i will not be able to install the update file.
The real question I have is, how do I go about this? How do i update to 5.1 (22.46.12.en.GB) without losing my root? I am happy with backing it all up on Titanium, and then updating but I don't know how to do it. Do I have to download the new android on my laptop and then re-install it or something? All this technical talk is literally racking my brain!
I know the solution is probably simple so I would really appreciate if someone can give me a simple answer!
Thanks so much

U can flash cm12.1 or can update your device then just root it back.
I doubt its a fourth gen, when the latest is 3rd.
Why can't you unroot, update, then reroot?

And how do I unroot? and where do I find the update film.
I promise you, I don't know if its cos im dumb or what, but I have been researching this all day! I don't know what to do!
You can follow this link for a tool to restore back to stock firmware. This will wipe your phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...dows-tool-moto-g-2015-xt1072-restore-t3124915
Then update after that and root again.
I don't know much about removing root, I would look up how you did it then search for removing it. What did you use? Supersu?

Yes, it will reflash your phone to how it was when out the factory. Then update, then install supersu same as you did before.
Cm12.1 is pre rooted rom and stock rom i think u know what it is.
